I love how the little African baby was the happiest through out the whole movie and only once or twice did he ever get upset. And also how the mother in Japan put her daughter in all those cute outfits! 83.
anyone else think its funny that Bayar is left to his own devices quite often? Mom's got stuff to do so, she leaves him in the tent. lol Its awesome. If he wanders off tie him to the bed!
I loved this movie so much-I'm obsessed with little kids XD My favorite was the little African girl. I'm sorry, but Hattie's hippie parents make Americans look weird...I'm almost embarrassed. LOL
My girlfriend and I watched this movie together a few weeks ago. What is it about seeing a bunch of little babies on a screen that makes people want to have their own? It is all we ever talk about now and we could not be more excited at the prospect of being parents one day!
@TheUglyFatChick the director shows the flies scene instead of the dog because the dog doesn't belong to the family as their pet. The domestic dogs in that area stay only as long as the people have food leftover to give. and when they don't, the dogs might move and stay with other group of people that feed them. People in Africa have a different deal with animals. It's theirlifestyle, and that's the whole point of the movie.
Thomas Balmes is definitely not a racist. lol You really should research people before you jump to accuse them of such things, you know? Perhaps the racism is actually in your own perceptions. African people do not always need to be seen as victims. Certainly if that same set of circumstances had played out for the white or Tokyo baby you would have not thought that same thing. I did not perceive a bit of racism in the movie. Ponijao was precious and her mother was just beautiful though it all.
@Southernbella511 Okay, go back to the part where the flimmaker is demonstrating the babies' first interactions with pets. He shows three babies with their pet cats and then jumps to the African baby interacting with FLIES. Ten minutes later he shows the African baby interacting with a domesticated dog - which would have been much more suitable to include in the "pet interaction montage". This filmmaker is racist and he's making a joke of all of you. :)
My favorite was Ponijao, because it was different from the lifestyle we americans live in. I always got excited when i would see a new scene of him; he looked so happy!
I think Ponijao from Namibia is the happiest of all the babies.... he is such a cutie and never cries , altough he has no reason to cry is always by his mommy , family and friends, breast fed and babywearing ... attachment parenting really does make a diffrence on children . I love this movie have watched it over and over .

What is the name of the woman singing this song??? I know the composer is Bruno Coulais, and the song is called "Baby" but who is SHE?! Please pm me if anyone knows.
Loved it so much!!! <3 Sweet and innocent. Difficult to say who's my favourite, I liked them all!! They were all unique but I have a special like for Bayar. He's the most happiest and funniest of the four. :)
Loved this film so much. Sweet and innocent :) Also difficult to say who's my favourite but I have a special like for Bayar. He's definetly the happiest and the funniest of the four. :)
@SierraUnderTheSun Hattie got sick? I don't remember. Sure, she got flopped over in the plastic car when her dad rolled the car. I also remember her parents bought her to a daycare place and sang some "Earth will take care of me" song and Hattie just stood up and walk away to the door and started pushing it. It was so funny.
I like Bayar, the Mongolian baby, the most because he is so happy. In addition, the landscape in Mongol is beautiful, so it is a bit unfair because he has the best scenario background.

I loved this movie. But I felt a bit sorry for Bayar. He didn't seem to get much love and attention. And he was picked on an awful lot...
I didn't like that.
My favourite was definitely Mari. She was so sweet!

@sushisalmon11 - No, the African baby (Ponijao) is a girl. The only boy is Bayar, the Mongolian baby.
