i love how you hoop:) i hope that when i get my first hoop, which will hopefully be this friday, i can start practicing and in a year or two i can be half as good as you :) keep up the good work :) and what kind of hoop are you using? and is it good to start with a weighted hoop if you are a beginner at hoop dancing?

@jacobsezmennosparkle Yes it's good to start with a weighted hoop, that's what I started with in this video. I now use a polypro hoop which is a lot smaller and lighter.

What weight/size hoop do you use? I use a weighted hoop and I think thats why it hurts to hoop on my arms/chest (My hoop bruises me pretty often lol). Also, how tall are you?

@jasminemauriee The hoop in this video was a weighted hoop it was like 40" and it did give me bruises at first. I now use a polypro hoop its about 35" I'm 5'7"

Maybe you could try your act in a beautiful garment or costume to some classy music--swing, classical, or something like Trans-Siberian Orchestra, in a beautiful setting instead of the dull house, so as to appeal to a wide audience, and as professional sport-entertainment. And make several vids, with different acts, choreographed tightly, between 3 and 5 minutes. Keep up the good work! Observe the other hoopers vids.

Just started hooping.. I got a hoop at walmart with water inside and i can hoop with it but i cant really do tricks is that me or the hoop? I tried out some at summer camp music festival and was surprised how much better they worked out.. can you recommend a hoop for me.. I'm 5'5 140 pounds.

@VaJennah Kid hoops are a lot hard to hoop with, It's way better to start with a larger hoop. I guess the hoop size rule for beginner is a hoop that go an inch or two above your belly button.

@VaJennah Get to Home Depot and make one out of flex pvc (like the kind used for indoor plumbing, 3/4 inch. the diameter of the pipe is perfect for the size of hands.) the hoop should be approx 30in across after it's bent. There should be couplings in the same isle. Superglue the whole thing together, and then tape it up with some different colors of electrical tape for friction and durability. The weight is perfect for tricks and it will be easier w/o the water. Happy hooping! :)
