I took mine apart once. Something under tension must have been jarred and moved. Now the guns performance is a bit spotty. It locks up and fires, but when you work the slide back, it goes back normally but when you try and pull it forward a good 2/3 of the time the bolt will lock half way back. I have slide it a few times before it slides back into battery.
i have a winchester model 1200 and its a 12 ga 3inch. the bolt seems to hold back the forearm, so i cant pump my shotgun it seems to be stuck. please help thanks griggs
@griggs9462 I recently had the same issue. When you are putting the trigger assembly back in the receiver cock the hammer back before you put it in. I don't know what caused it to jam in the first place, but that solved the issue for me.
was wondering on a 1300..the shell ejector...the long piece you took off with the spring...how do you re install it...im having alot of trouble..thanks..good video
I have a model 1300 ranger deluxe youth 20 gauge and i am now a little big for it. what would you recommended i would like to switch it to 12 gauge any put a large sized stock. Any recommendations are helpful
After removing barrel, remove trigger mechanism as shown in this video then pull the forearm forward and the bolt will come out through the front of the receiver and lift off. No need to dig around with a screwdriver.
I have a model 1200 and i shot it and the bolt flies open with the shell recoil on every shot. Do you have any idea what might be the problem. Great video by the way.
Does your forend shoot back with the bolt? Cuz if it does then your bolt face or chamber on the barrel is busted because its supposed to lock the bolt in the chamber. Let me know.
The Moss, and then the Rems do it as well to lesser degrees. But the Wins were actually designed to do this. A fraction of a second after firing the recoil assists in starting your forearm to move to the rear to cycle next round. It was supposed to be one of the best designs for military use, but then again the military picked up Moss and Rems instead so go figure.
Bottom line is it is doing what it is designed to do.
i jammed my 1200 and wanted to know if you could help? i was shooting my gun and after it fired i pulled the forearm (the wood thing. idk if that was right?) the shell came out but the forearm would not slide forward? please help!
after looking at the gun a bit, this dosnt look like a 1300, since the trigger guard looks like a 1200, 1300 the trigger guards goes smoothly into the frame where the safety is, while the 1200 its a bit bulky like this gun is. and 6:30 i dont have a screw there at all, not ever a hole where the screw would fit. its held in place with tension.
ok. you did a lot of field strip video, it's very easy, couese full internet is with this video guides everyone can do this with no sweat. But can you tell me please where can I see or download schemes or manuals of trigger group stripping?
Can you please anyone tell me the Part Number for the spring he sad NOT to loose. When I took my gun apart it wasn't there to start with. I have a 1200. Thanks!
My gun was also missing that spring. However, I dug up the original owners manual and as far as i can tell from looking at the parts diagram that spring is only in the models with 3" chambers. So if you have a 2 3/4" model that spring shouldn't be there.
I just took mine apart and wondered the same thing. As the long piece that he pulls out is curved for the 1200, I suspect that there is no spring. I find that it still keeps the shells in the magazine.
between the rem 870 the win 1300 and the moss500 the easiest gun to dissasemble is by far the remington 870.........i find the win1300 something between the rem 870 and the moss500.............it combines feaatures of those 2...too bad they dont make them no more......
the firing pin & assembly comes out of the model 1300 simply by removing the trigger guard & sliding the forearm forward.........you don't even have to do anything else to get it out
ok i just gat the winchester 1200 today but i don't know anything about it i gat it for 200 is that a good price? it looked really good. so yeah if someone can give me some feed back on this shotgun it will be nice
Things are getting real bad and from the looks of it were gonna have people not getting crazy but just getting tired of it all and act a fool. So if you could help me, I just recently bought the gun from a friend but was not informed how to correctly opperate it and snaped that piece in half. I feel bad but also need the weapon for home protection.
hey if anybody ever reads this could you please help me out..Im lookig for an ejector for the Winchester Model 1200 in 2 3/4 & 3inch Barrel. the reason why i asked was because i recently asked for this piece but wasnt very specific and in detail and when someone contacted me back saying they did, it was not the correct piece the ejector piece I need has a notch at the end for a spring to fit on top. If you have this specific piece could you let me know.

if the bolt looks like its sits too far back. what might you think the prob is? rather give it a go then take it to a smith
mrsuperterd 2 years ago
This is not the best way to disassemble the 1300.
After removing barrel, remove trigger mechanism as shown in this video then pull the forearm forward and the bolt will come out through the front of the receiver and lift off. No need to dig around with a screwdriver.

@davsmexico
It goes inside the reciever in the back, there should be actually a hole in the back where it resides in.
hope this helps!

if they couldn't figure out the straight edge for getting off the end cap on the forarm, they shouldn't be handling firearms anyway.
