one hell of a banjo player too

  • thank you

  • My family name runs all thru out this country back in the 1800's

  • Indeed I actually got to se a gun that was originally a flintlock. What happened was after the war of 1812 flintlocks were REDESIGNED. The touchhole was on the TOP instead of the side of the barrel. So what the confederates did, was replace the piece of flint with a thick piece of steel and they took off the frizzen and put a nipple on the touchhole for the percussion cap. so the piece of steel HAMMERS the percussion cap. Easy conversion!

  • Eh not really my friend, it was 40 degrees today, I wasn't wearing a jacket. But i forgot to tell you,m today is February 17th. TODAY THE CREW OF THE CSS HUNLEY (confederate submarine) sunk in Charleston Bay South Carolina after successfully sinking the USS Housatonic. THEY DIED DEFENDING OUR RIGHTS. May they Rest In Peace. I put my flag out on my lawn today and whistled TAPS.

  • oh yea? interesting.. my uncle saw them bury the remains of the crew members back in 06' I believe. confederates were pretty ingenuitous, building submarines and what not.

  • @banjolisterine i live in charleston and watched them pull her out of the harbor back in '01. long live the CSA!

  • @diedreich My aunt and uncle were there when they pulled it out. I was busy with school eslewise I would have gone.

  • That's cool, I wanna do a genealogy search, i did a last name search for confederates with my last name WILSON, and there's like 2,000 of them so know I just have to find out which are related to me if any. I'm one of the only Floridians in my family, most of'em are from North Carolina or Georgia so I'm a Florida Cracker boy in a family of good ole Tarheels hehe!

  • yea, well it's good and warm down there now.. cold as hell up here in north Ga.

  • Beautiful banjo picking! If you were in the confederate army you'd have all the boys singing around the camp fire! Nice flag, I am in the process of making a Second National Confederate Flag to fly in my yard on April 15th the day general P T Bueregard attacked and won victory over Fort Sumter

  • thanks had a lot of ancestors fight for the south.

  • your so good at playin the banjo and your singing anit bad eather at least i dont think so

  • well thank you

  • Hi, good old-timey banjor, but you kno Uncle Bascomb has a niece that likes to law people over that song you might get permision to play from her I think that is silly ,, but for warned is for armed !! good luck with the bajer , you might try one with an open back they ring sweeter.

  • you might have a point. hope she don't mind for now. I would like to get her permission though, sort of be official I guess.

  • Maybe the catch is wearing the confederate flag when playing, I have to try that out.

  • ha yea

  • Awesome playing!

    Any tabs for this tune?

  • thank you, I don't know of any tabs, sorry.

  • what type are you looking for a REAL cheap (but good one) or more of a high quality type?

  • just a starter, i mean like you said cheap but good

  • I think its going to take me years to play that good!

  • huh naw it'll go by quicker than you think

  • thanks.. I do have a lot of rebel flags in my room there I don't know why, I do have a lot of ancestors who fought for the confederacy, I guess I just got a collection over the years. I kinda like the way it looks. it's really st. andrew's cross: the patron saint of Scotland but you probably already knew that.

  • really you think so? well thanks I know I'm a bit hoaky usually I avoid the singing though you know. thanks for the comment.

  • I think your singing this song is pretty good. In my opinion, it's one of the best songs you sing with the banjer.
