You need to cut as much contact as possible, and instead reach out to your friends and family! Work hard at school, do things that you love, and be around people who love you. I don't know where you go to high school but I was friends with the punks and goths in high school without being one. People are people and they might surprise you. What are you interested in? Music? Art? I know that's what I connected to those guys on. Push aside clique distinctions. If you need to, approach other people.
@OO7Heartbreaker I would say that if there is anything about your hair, makeup, clothing, demeanor that comes across as aggressive (beyond personal style) I might tone it down a bit OR counteract it with your behavior, speech, and personality until you find friends and get to know each other. If you are in a really conservative place it might help for them to get to know you first if you look demonic. ;) But never, never change who you are b/c that's what makes YOUR life worth living.

Bf is an ass for breaking up with you after talking w/someone else. You deserve so much better. If you know you have depression, I'd suggest talking to your therapist about this. If you don't have one there are ways of getting over social anxiety. Self help books, websites etc. I think it's about loving and accepting yourself and then being open to others.
@manfymahre04 This is slightly unconventional advice, but if the thought of going to join clubs or attending parties or other functions is too intimidating, work up to that. Try talking to someone in class, just something simple that may or may not start a convo. "What did the teacher say?" "Can I borrow a pen?" Search out people who might be similarly anxious. The person (who isn't creepy) who is sitting alone and looks like you when you want company. Bookstores, math clubs, art therapy. :)

@MissDevPink You're not going to gain anything out of confronting her. Just be careful about your interactions in the future. If she continues this sort of behavior she's not a friend and you should try and make new ones. If not, maybe there's a reasonable explanation and you can just trust that she's your friend and there was probably a reason.

@cheesecakeee16 Your only motives for telling her are wanting to share with your friend or wanting to be with him yourself. Since the latter isn't the case, I probably wouldn't tell her if you don't want to risk upsetting her (you can judge her personality better than I can). If it would bother you not to tell her then just do it casually. Make sure she knows you don't want to go after him. Maybe just put it in the context of thinking he's so great that she should go for it. Hope that helps. :)

I would try not to worry about who you can trust and just let things happen. If he keeps flirting and sending out signals to everyone then he's just trying to be a player and you can forget him. @techiew When I moved to a different school when I was younger I felt a lot like you. First, don't go into the situation with the mindset that people won't be open to including you. Second, be open to making friends all through the day whether in class, at lunch, etc. not just in clubs and certain situations. Be friendly, kind, and polite to everyone. It should be really easy to find out about clubs. Your school office/guidance center, etc. should have all that info on file. Good luck! :)

@ReinaAnnloveschu You need to get over him but as to your fear, I think you need to examine why you "chickened out" of whatever you did. If you can't see it yourself try talking it over with friends or a therapist. When you understand your fear you can conquer it. As to feeling held back, just know that you are awesome and you can only be held back if you let yourself. A good relationship is about intimacy and mutual support. When you get in that mindset you'll find the right person.

You need to cut as much contact as possible, and instead reach out to your friends and family! Work hard at school, do things that you love, and be around people who love you. I am 5"7 and 115 pounds. My parents complain that I am too skinny and constantly poke fun at me or tell me to have a steak or something. I am vegetarian and they feel I am too controlling with my food since I won't eat meat/gelatin/things such as that. I am self conscience and do not feel I am all that skinny, but don't outwardly complain about my weight. I have an anorexic friend and they think she is turning ME anorexic. What should I do? Im a 17 year old girl and I have a friend who has family issues. Sometimes it gets so bad that she has to leave her house so, after asking my mom if it was ok, I sometimes let her stay at my house. @OO7Heartbreaker I'm kind of confused as to how you aren't sociable and don't have many friends but make friends easily. I would say just keep being friendly and talkative. I don't know where you go to high school but I was friends with the punks and goths in high school without being one. People are people and they might surprise you. What are you interested in? Music? Art? I know that's what I connected to those guys on. Push aside clique distinctions. If you need to, approach other people.

@OO7Heartbreaker I would say that if there is anything about your hair, makeup, clothing, demeanor that comes across as aggressive (beyond personal style) I might tone it down a bit OR counteract it with your behavior, speech, and personality until you find friends and get to know each other. If you are in a really conservative place it might help for them to get to know you first if you look demonic. ;) But never, never change who you are b/c that's what makes YOUR life worth living.

@manfymahre04 Aw, CYBER HUG. You are never alone. The universe loves you and brought you into being so you could live a life worth living. Bf is an ass for breaking up with you after talking w/someone else. You deserve so much better. If you know you have depression, I'd suggest talking to your therapist about this. If you don't have one there are ways of getting over social anxiety. Self help books, websites etc. I think it's about loving and accepting yourself and then being open to others.

@manfymahre04 This is slightly unconventional advice, but if the thought of going to join clubs or attending parties or other functions is too intimidating, work up to that. Try talking to someone in class, just something simple that may or may not start a convo. "What did the teacher say?" "Can I borrow a pen?" Search out people who might be similarly anxious. The person (who isn't creepy) who is sitting alone and looks like you when you want company. Bookstores, math clubs, art therapy. :)

@Geekychicchica Ok. I know how you feel Since you are 14, i would ask the doctor for contacts. Ask your parents if its in your insurance. As for the acne, I would recommend getting a face wash you feel comfortable with. As for braces, i had mine for 3 years, and every one who used to make fun of me, compliments me on my teeth. As for loving school and reading, Think about Hermione Granger girl! and 15 years down the road, your going to be probably out of a good college, and getting a good job:)

@MissDevPink You're not going to gain anything out of confronting her. Just be careful about your interactions in the future. If she continues this sort of behavior she's not a friend and you should try and make new ones. If not, maybe there's a reasonable explanation and you can just trust that she's your friend and there was probably a reason.

@cheesecakeee16 Your only motives for telling her are wanting to share with your friend or wanting to be with him yourself. Since the latter isn't the case, I probably wouldn't tell her if you don't want to risk upsetting her (you can judge her personality better than I can). If it would bother you not to tell her then just do it casually. Make sure she knows you don't want to go after him. Maybe just put it in the context of thinking he's so great that she should go for it. Hope that helps. :)

@96bnb It sounds like you're both in a good place and happy with other people. I don't know why it would be awkward seeing her family if nothing terrible happened. I think the focus on that day will be on your ex and her wedding so I would just go and support her and not worry too much. Maybe you could ask her to not sit you next to particular family members to make it less awkward. :)

@XxJustyTaylor4everXx You're young. Emotions are heightened and at the same time you're trying to figure out who you are and what you want in a relationship. I would try not to worry about who you can trust and just let things happen. If he keeps flirting and sending out signals to everyone then he's just trying to be a player and you can forget him. Otherwise, he'll eventually ask someone out and you can decide where to go from there. Focus on school. Don't let a boy ruin your friendships.

@techiew When I moved to a different school when I was younger I felt a lot like you. First, don't go into the situation with the mindset that people won't be open to including you. Second, be open to making friends all through the day whether in class, at lunch, etc. not just in clubs and certain situations. Be friendly, kind, and polite to everyone. It should be really easy to find out about clubs. Your school office/guidance center, etc. should have all that info on file. Good luck! :)

@camplaurelcrazy7 This totally sounds like a plotline from Degrassi (Declan/Holly J/Fiona). In real life, I think you need to sit down and talk with her about why it bothers her. Is it b/c you're BFF's or b/c she doesn't want anyone with her brother? Don't tell her she's ridiculous but try and make her see how it's irrational. If she doesn't budge you need to decide who is more important to you. Also, be sure her brother is OK with creating tension with her if you do go out. Hope it works out.

@perfectbritt 1)I think you can't blame her for what she did intoxicated. 2) Good on you for standing up to him. I do think it's wrong for her to be dating two guys simultaneously. I don't think you can be mad at someone because someone else prefers them to you but I question staying friends with someone who indulges in all this bad behavior. Move on to a guy who puts you first. Distance yourself from your friend & see if you can eventually forgive her. Focus on you b/c you seem awesome.

@ReinaAnnloveschu You need to get over him but as to your fear, I think you need to examine why you "chickened out" of whatever you did. If you can't see it yourself try talking it over with friends or a therapist. When you understand your fear you can conquer it. As to feeling held back, just know that you are awesome and you can only be held back if you let yourself. A good relationship is about intimacy and mutual support. When you get in that mindset you'll find the right person.
