  • This case is Rodey's personal choice of case

  • 2 230 mm fans HOLY FUCKING CHRIST

  • what's with the pencil?

  • I got one and it's really the best case I've ever had. The installation of all components is child's play and the fans are really silent.

  • i'm looking for a good full tower case, and so far this is the best i could find, i want one, or actualy give me 2

  • obs: this case is used in his personal rig

  • man where is your mustache ??

probably gone with the motherboard tray

  • anybody know to get a side window for this case? they dont sell it but its available on the coolermaster website?

  • @MrDeadashell That will be hard to find since they dont make the case anymore you may need to put your own in or use the part number to do a search.

  • my next case !

  • Great review!

  • "have a listen to the stock cooling " -I had to turn my speakers to the max so I could hear a whisper :)

  • god i want this.

  • Are HDD bays for SATA only HDD? Or can you shove PATA HDD too?

  • 1:14 he says 2 thumb screths instead of screws lol

  • my next rig !

  • bra gjort jävla bögjävel och alla nötter som särskriver här :D

  • yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhh removable motherboard tray

  • looks like the cooler master equivalent to the corsair obsidian, or vice versa if it came out first

  • @SpadesHeart this case is actually way older than the obsidian

  • @SpadesHeart Yeah, but you cant really air cool with an Obsidian

  • unfortunantly the mothe , WAIT A FKING SECOND

  • Going to get this case - it's two years old though. Is that a really bad thing or not at all? The specs for this seem perfect for me, and the number of fans that can be installed is just perfect.

  • @LizzyAston Its fine if you like it!

  • Budget design

  • What is the point in all them dust covers, when the 2 top fans dont have dust covers.

  • @phoebeanner EXHAUST fans.. -.-

  • @phoebeanner They're exhaust fans, they push air out, so only about 10% of air does get in - with a dust filter intaking air, it's higher than this, more like 15 to 20%.

  • Just got this recently. Man....it is muuuch bigger in person lol. Its awesome. Very functional, lots of space. But now I am almost going out of my way to fill it just to justify the size. Extra hard drives etc. But I cannot for the life of me think of ways to fill the 5.25 bays lol. I have a dvd burner, a blu ray reader, and a fan controller. What else could you possibly put? It is very simple, sleek, and sexy.

  • @darrellgonzales You can get reservoirs with liquid cooling that take up two expansion bays - and don't worry about filling up the hard drive slots, as this would reduce the airflow intake at the front of the case.

  • ahh..back in the days where he didnt disable comments so as to force us to go to his website...good times

  • this case does not have a very good cable management

  • good luck with 3 nvidia gtx580 they gonna melt the cables in that back case

  • @Adywerty88 Cables on average begin to melt at 180'C. No graphics card can safely output that kind of heat.

  • I will take one.

  • A removable mobo tray......

    I bet 3dGameMan is happy

  • There is Trying to Asian brides "busizz4me.info"

  • blablabla...."and thankfully the motherboard tray is removable".....blablabla....

  • this is the case rod has xD

  • I was about to buy this, but i looked at the price.

  • @Comoedus £159 on overclockers £198 on ebuyer.

  • another good an clear review! :)

  • geh too bad the inside is silver

  • Finally a removable motherboartd tray!

  • If Rodney uses this in his rig, it must be good :)

  • 1:52 FAIL!

  • awesome case but this guy sounds like a robot.

  • which is better? The atcs 840? or the haf x? and why?

  • @dlndookie23 Well, I can't really say which one is better because I personally think that both case are best friends and they perform really good. If you want to go with a case that look nice and less weight (Aluminum), go with the ATSC 840 or with a case that has excellent air circulation but heavy (Steel), go with the HAF X.

  • @dlndookie23 neither, but the haf x looks better

  • @dlndookie23 haf x if you like the whole theme with it, but this case is a modders dream.

  • He didn't say anything at the end because he was blown away at the removable motherboard tray

  • Rodney Forevah!

  • Who wants my ATCS 840

  • @boredgunner hahaha...Ill take it

  • this guy is a lazy ass everytime her reviews a case. he is like the mother tray is not removeable

  • @delonh92 it is a safe feature as well, seeing that some people are not careful in removing their motherboard

  • The motherboard tray is removable, no wonder you have this case for your system. :D

  • Is there any difference between Coolermaster ATCS 840 Full Tower & ATC 840 Classic ? Thanks

  • @starchamberS I don't think there is such thing as ATC 840 Classic, just ATCS840. Unless it's not from Coolermaster.

  • wo wo wo wo WO did he just say the motherboard tray is removable :O

i never heard him say that but i always hear him say

"unfortantly the motherboard tray is NOT removable"

  • @raheemisbad He likes removable trays. They can help. There are a few cases where he says they're removable though.

  • @DeltaPhi79 yo would this case support extended ATX MOBO?

  • @raheemisbad Yes it does.

  • which case coolmaster 932, coolmaster HAF x or this case??

  • im always excited when he rates a product 100% :DDDDD

  • Comment removed

  • Is the HDD cage removable?

  • Is this case good for air cooling?

  • Absolute 100%. Agreed.

I /love/ my Lian-Li, and if I were to rebuild, I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

  • Mah Dream:

  • @TheJaykaybay

the super record 2 only supports Xeon cpu's.

  • @TheJaykaybay

260 gtx for Physx cuz u really dont need more.

crucial ballistix tracer red ofc 12gb

    and 2 2tb for strorage

graphics wise -> yours and cheaper ^^

  • FINALLY! He got his removable motherboard tray!!!!

  • @JJLL26 Jajajajaja!!! Yeaaah!! Sure!!

  • This or haf x?

  • @KALfilms

I like the looks of this more and the build quality... and the haf x just has one more fan and I dont know how much of a difference that will make. But im with you haf x or this?

  • @Kryosthefirst Are u goimg for water cooling then i would say this. I like the space in this makes everything easier imo.

  • Does that exhaust thing work?

  • Removable motherboard tray, and no door. No wonder he creamed all over this thing.

  • holy shit that computer has big ass fans

  • @pureGAGA That is a huge case. ;D

  • that is a super kick ass case!

  • Are there dust filters on the top fans (not that they're really needed as they blow out). Just that it kind of looked like it.

  • THANKFULLY, the motherboard tray is removable. I'm used to hearing "UNFORTUNATELY"

  • @orpheus119 That has the best removeable motherboard tray in the industry.

  • Could I put an AMD X6 1055 @ 4GHZ, 2x5870s and 4gb dominator ram in this? Would the airflow be good enough?

  • Wow! A tech review that actually has usable information about the product! Reviewers and manufacturers take note - this is how it should be done.

  • Im getting this, And making a transparent side panel MOD

  • can u stop talking like a robot.. you sound stupid ! but nice case !

  • this case is siiiiiick

  • Is this one better than the HAF 932? Will this case make my HD5970 cooler?

  • @nykvarnskurken idk it has the same amount of fans but it has that extra back fan thing it is larger so it might be better for h2o cooling and aluminium is a better heat conductor than steel maybe you need to find a side panal or modificate it so you can have an extre 230mm fan than this one will be better

  • @nykvarnskurken you have to remember that with the right investmenst this case can be a complete killer case

stock cooling: 230mm intake fan, 2x230mm outtake fans, 120mm outtake

you can add a bottom 130 mm fan on the bottom, 2 behind the HDDs (so it's kinda like getting 1x230mm and 2x130mm fan on the front)

you'll ofc have the air fan on the back made to exclusively to draw hot air from your graphics card

all of this is 1 of the reasons why i'm getting this for the gtx480, just in case ;)

  • So many washable dust filters! Dear god that thing is a beauty. Shame it's £150 (almost $300 US).

  • You like this case better than the Corsair 800D?

  • Thanks for such a great review. After seeing this and TigerDirect's video, I think I'm pretty sure about going with this case. This will be my first time building my own computer. Can't wait!

  • What's better? This or the Corsair 800D ?

  • This.

  • @TheMadOrc Why?

  • All around better.

  • @SkylitDay

You can buy a side-panel with a nice window

  • Just ordered one of these! Cant wait! This case has been out for a while now.. how long have the labels on the audio jacks been the wrong way around..

  • @eluberopaullo

They are right on my case. Have had it for some time - it is awesome!

  • Ouh Yea , With This case , I can fit my 5970 =DDD

  • I want this.. the fans are so freaking big! XD

  • Ahh, That silence :D Compared to this computer :D (Damn noisy bastard)

  • Why is there a power supply brace at the top, but the PS gets mounted on the bottom?

  • @odinata

you can put it at the top or bottom

  • @odinata

You can mount the PSU on the top if you choose.

  • you can choose to mount it at the top or the bottom.

  • @odinata

So that you can install it in the top if needed (lets say your cables aren't long enough, and you don't wanna buy extensions). I installed mine in the button, and the cables could only just reach the motherboard - remember this case is huge!

  • @ImJarlen

Nice to know that option is there. Just had a friend build with this case--everything worked out fine with the Sea Sonic power supply mounted on the bottom. Only thing I saw wrong is that the power supply blocked the removal of the bottom dust filter.

  • This is one of the best case!!!!!!!!! buy an 800D if you want an oven inside your room. Other than that, buy this lol...DONT NOT BUY 800D IF U ARE PLANNING TO AIR-COOLED............

  • i'd rather have this than the HAF

  • @rampageturke

Indeed - I really like the look. The brushed aluminum looks awesome!

  • Hi, I was wondering if there are any faps available voor the optical drives. I have a black DVDRW, and it won't look cool! If anyone know, please tell me.

  • LOL

    FAPS

  • anybody else notice that the colours for the head and mic jack are switched? 1:54

  • lol yeah

  • @Ksquaredgaming

    Lowl? Didn't notice that xD

  • @Ksquaredgaming

yep just noticed that myself lol

  • @Ksquaredgaming they arent switched on mine O.o

  • @Ksquaredgaming OMG EPIC FAIL COOLERMASTER!!

  • @Ksquaredgaming Good catch, must have been a preproduction goof. On my ATCS 840, the labeling is switched (colored plugs are in the same locations).

  • 1:34

i wonder if he sharpens that pencil before each review because its always SHARP XD

  • @steevyp

    lol wtf.

  • @steevyp hell no, he just buy's new ones

  • @simonshusse this has wayyy better cooling. I personally like the 800d as well but you cant go wrong with this one, despite its age.

  • @simonshusse

I think it is better that the obsidian. I have moor room to maneuver and the mobo tray is removable

  • does it make much sound??

  • reh tard

  • I have had the HAF932 for about a month now and I've always wondered why there are no dust filteres on it. It is a HUGE dust magnet I consider it a serious flaw that it doesn't have any filters like this one does, other than that, only the sliding out motherboard bracket could have me want this one instead of the HAF, I like the look of the HAF much better.

  • This is a well thought out case....the back optional fan is kinda stupid but some of these new GPU pump the heat out.

Wire management is effortless with this case and water cooling / dual power supplies are possible.

  • Why couldn't they have put these dust filters in the HAF 932? I like the HAF and I like this case, but the HAF is over £35 cheaper! Still, I suppose its a lot better than the original Cosmos 1000 case, which I have. I had to to buy 3 4,000 RPM 120mm Delta fans for my Asus Striker II Formula set up, and my PC sounds like a vacuum cleaner, hence why I'm looking at a new PC case.

So it looks like I've made my choice - another £150+ case ¬_¬

I really hope it is as good as described!

  • I'm going to buy this case, my antec p182 is too damn small.

  • too many f-ing screwes

  • Pretty annoying that the silver model is black on the top were the fan are.

  • Cooler master should of put the power supply filter on the outside underneath of the case. With a long power supply you probably won't be able to reach the handle to pull it out to clean without having to unscrew the power supply.

  • @traingp7 Tie a string to the filter. =P

  • Yeah, like you're gonna sincerely wash them dust filters every week.People just need a reason to whine.

  • @traingp7

It can be a problem, but is has to be a VERY huge power supply.

However, if you install a fan at the bottom, you cannot remove it. If you got a compressor, you can clean it by blowing up from underneath.

  • Too bad it only has ONE intake fan :/

and it doesn't have a big space to intake air flow behind this front panel ....

But anyway , seems like a really great case !! (I got the HAF932 also from CM)

  • @asfodhell

Moron, the intake fan is huuuuuuge! 230mm. And you can add one fan at the bottom. I have the Corsair 800D but kinda wish I have choosen this one. This case is lighter, removable mobo tray, better airflow and cheaper.

  • This is the first review in forever where Rodney was able to say "the motherboard tray is removable".

I know he enjoyed saying it.

  • ahahahaha , very true !! I am sure he enjoyed it so much :D

Also , its not just removable , but its the whole thing who come out of the case with the back panel , quite amazing really !

  • ironically, this is a full tower case. There is so much space inside you don't need a removable MB tray anyway.

  • I was thinking the same thing. It's a great thing to have a removable tray for a cramped mid tower, but with a full tower you have enough room to pay a midget to crawl inside and install the mobo.

  • Things can get very cramped when you start adding cards longer than a midgets dick,to extend your analogy.People who are looking for this kind of room are probably building a triSLI, quadSLI crossfire rig and not just looking for a bit of ventilation.

  • Corsair Obsidian 800D or Cooler Master ATCS 840 ?

  • 800D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheHawSome corsair 800D

even rodney said it looks better

and 800D is more future proof and has more stuff...

  • @TheHawSome

I would say ATCS 840 since you get more value for the buck.

  • Does it have greater Airflow than The HAF-Series?

  • you know what may be better than this case + its bigger? The Corsair Obsidian Series 800D

  • Get this case if you want dust filters

  • I trust Rodney on this case, If Rodney uses this case i'll be using this case as well. Thanks alot Rodney!

  • This guy is good. . . The best!!!

  • and apparently so is everything he reviews

  • Well, he is provided all of these items through the manufacturers. I think he both requests them and gets parts through contract, whether he likes them or not, and has to do a review. I think he might be in hot water if he can't attach a few pros to each product.

I understand your cynical sentiments, though. I'm right there with you and was rather annoyed about him listing products that I deemed absolute shit "good" or "great"; I still find Rodney one of the best reviewers on youtube.

  • I'm having a really hard time deciding between this and the Antec 1200... I'm building a gaming PC that's gonna have a Core i7-920 and I'm going to be Overclocking it, probably just a single GPU for now though possibly dual in the future. If anyone has any input it is greatly appreciated.

  • This would be better than the Antec 1200 imo. This seems to have better airflow, among other features.

  • + it's very quite compared to the antec 1200 Wind tunnel lol. I getting this case this week but im having it all powder coated a Glossy black.

  • Your an ass your just jelous you cant be like him.

  • fu noob rodney dont read any scripts he's pro

  • why the fan is covered?(the front one)

  • @jambanIT

It just looks a lot better. It does not interfere with the airflow at all. A simple net would ruin the looks of this case!

  • I don´t like the look of this case. The Corsair 800D wich is 100% black looks much nicer.

  • U cant really compair those 2 cases, there are more than a year between the 2 cases... :-)

  • A good quality case is almost timeless; like the frame of a car.

  • I cant decide im so stumped on 3 cases. This case, HAF 932, and Antec 1200. Please Help!!! =]

  • Trow thw HAF 932 at the side and get ready of my opinion, The Antec 1200 is a cooling monster and the ATCS 840 is Cooling not as well but 10x times more stillish
