Tons of pedal,and the worst way to perform Schubert.

Schubert doesn't need:

1)excessive pedal.It needs in the first beat until the second beat(and that's the most extreme you can do).Because the whole piece is like a scale,pedal makes the whole piece,a dirt.

2)rubati.It's not a late romantic piece,it's an early romantic one.You also change the tempo,many times.

3)rough touch.Schubert need to be played soft like a silk.

This is not an angry piece.....it combines tragedy with heroism....and there is a melodic poignancy that was completely missing in this performance.

Like people say, too fast, and not in a "good" way. When it's played at this speed, it sounds flat and dull, and the melody loses any kind of tension. Especially since pauses are cut slightly short as well, giving the feeling of rushing through the notes mechanically instead of playing the phrases.

I didn't like this interpretation, it seems as if notes were trying to overshadow one another in speed, and then the ending was abrupt... this piece is supposed to be delicate, especially in the beginning.
