Just want to say thanks for explaining what tools are needed to complete project. I needed to know how to finish against end area with pull bar. Again thanks !!!! Keep helping others!!!
I like the music that was playing on the radio around 4:30 plus I feel a little more informed on laying these laminate flooring cause I am planning a project and I am schooling myself
Thanks man, the summery part made it clearer than any other vidios i saw in th etube. I am remodeling and, i am saving $900 in labor cost for about 400 sq three bed rooms.
oh man, bad example, they are installing a bran new laminate floor, and they are throwing the hamer on top of it, and the rest of the cuts on top of them to. OH MAN.
What happens if you come up short two inches lengthwise, I mean the last run is two inches, is this acceptable or say your doing a kitchen with an Island that falls in the middle of a length and you have to notch out a portion of a length, any tips on this.
I measure the odd-ball lengths beforhand, and offset that run to eliminate the 2" piece. But sometimes you can't offset the run so I mitersaw or tablesaw the piece. Jigsaw the tricky stuff.
Thanks for the real time video. Everyone who sells it says it's quick and easy but they can't always be trusted. It's nice to see a project go together in real time.
does anyone know if I can cut laminated flooring after it has been layed? I am getting a buckle in areas of the floor pulled off the baseboard and the contractor but it right up to the wall. Any help would be appreciated thanks
You could see if you can get a Rotozip along the wall. The short answer is yes, you can fix it but your going to have a hell of a time unless you can get something like a Rotozip to do it. You might also try a dremel with a rotary cutting attachment, but it's going to be tough to keep it straight; depending on how far out your baseboards are will dictate how 'messy' your solution can be.
IF YOU BOUGHT GOOD STUFF LIKE QUICKSTEP, THEN YOU WOULDN'T BE TAPPING ALL THOSE BOARDS!!!!!! trust me, when you have to tap a product together, that just causes more head ache and more damage to the floor. i could lay that floor in minutes, they still playing with the tapping blocks. fast huh? and underlayment attached to the floor is cheap. get a good laminate like uniclic quickstep, and you'll say why the heck i bought that cheap stuff when you only paid a few cents more. trust me and C4Urself
Ok this is a good vid. Just wondering why its so important to stagger the wood? And the quarter rounding is it ok to just use a hammer for the finnish nails? Man this is going to be fun this weekend! LOl
This was VERY helpful to me, as I was having a LOT of trouble snapping the pieces together. It's a lot better, but sometimes I still have some trouble. I hope that as the floor goes along I get better.
It would be nice if next time you make a video you could turn the tv off. It was very distracting. However, thank you for the information and showing people how easy it is to install this flooring.
Get yourself a pergo clamp kit that was made for strapping the floor together like how pergo was done before the nice locking grooves, it makes adjusting on the walls and all allot easier and better than those little black spacers. Also a bullit tools cutter, its about 1k but worth every dime! Cut all your stuff right there next to you with no dust.
I agree the guy is slow, however, for some one who is trying to learn what to do, this is the perfect pace. I assume we are watching the guy do it because we want to learn how to install the floor and not as a form of entertainment.
it's a good video!!! but the installer is very very very very very very very slow, or maybe his learning? i will do that room in 20min or less... =X 14 years doing this. omg too slow...sorry guys but it's true!!! i still rate this video 5 =)
To Mr. saturb1107--Dude!! you're a sorry man, they are great. It is a video to show people how to install laminate flooring, not to race and see how fast they do it idiot. People like you should just keep your comments to yourself. Bastards like yourself who think they know it all. You Don't!! You selfish inconsiderate degenerate. You should learn from these people they are kind enough to show us all how it is done and you, what can I say drink my Jiz!!!
Under my carpeting are those 70's style tiles. I took some carpeting off and the underlay was glued to the tile and is a biatch to get off. Do I have to get all the glue off of the tiles? Or can I lay the laminate flooring on top of the gluey tiles? Thanks in advance, dude.

These guys must be paid by the hour, and a tip to future filmmakers: while filming your how-to video turn down your distracting sheeprape music.

Great video. Thanks! One or two of those stand-up halogen tower lamps would have been helpful. But cool video though.

since the laminate flooring already had padding attached, is it necessary to lay down the extra padding you have on the floor?
crileyhome 3 years ago
they tell me if it has padding on it, DO NOT use the extra pad. too much of a good thing, will cause joint seperation.

k did you put down the insulation subfloor before the laminate and if you did how do you put that down just glue?
