@Oxpost live performances aren't all about perfection. Sure, this isn't the greatest vocal performance ever, but touring does that to the voice. Just be glad he's not lip syncing or autotuning. I think today there's way too much pressure to make things as perfect as the cd. If you wanna hear the cd, go listen to it. a live performance is about the emotion, and show you put on. as far as album recordings go, there's sometimes a lot of time put into making thinks perfect.

If this was on a morning show, it's really tough to sing early in the morning, and not every performance is going to be perfect. I love acoustic performances with all their imperfections more than perfect studio versions. Love the song. Best cover of this I think is by David Archuleta.

I've heard this song live plenty of times now and each time you can tell he's pushing the limits of his range. He should sing with an earpiece so he can hear himself sing and maybe that can help. They probably didn't anticipate this song being such a hit where he'd have to sing it constantly live. Studio recordings, as well as video editing has evolved to a point where they are really blurring what is real and what is artificial.

hey! singers have both good and bad days. As a singer your range can significantly vary depending on how much rest you've been getting, how well you've been taking care of your vocals either by training or avoiding certain drinks... (so many factors)

so don't judge this guy just because he had some little pitch problems on one performance. no singer can be perfect everyday. in fact this song is a pretty difficult song to sing at the key he chose to sing it.

FYI to those criticizing his voice, he had been sick for about 2 months previous to this to the point where they had canceled a few shows and he was having trouble with his voice. you can hear it that it was clearly bothering him on this day. normally his voice is very clear and sounds beautiful and he has no trouble hitting his notes.

Try to sing for hours every night for months and see if your voice doesn't get a little rough on the high notes. Studios are different because they typically aren't going right into the studio right after a tour. Some bands will change the key to make it easier on the performer to do 6 shows a week without hurting their voice.
