  • Sadly this nice world we live in, I havent drove it in apx 2 months because of some sorry pos broke in to my car stold all gauges, electrinic boost controler, safc, greddy turbo timer, and on top of that they poped my hood and stold my maf, k and n filter, and the complete cold side of intercooler piping, and it had my tial 50mm bov attached also. Abought $1500 worth of shit. So I will get it replaced one day and build up from there.

  • Man, I'm really sorry to hear. I also learned the hard way on my first build : a B18 turbo hatch. They couldn't steal the car, but they damaged the doors badly just trying to get in and steal a $20 CD player that didn't even work anyway :(

    My hood was locked with pins, or they would've stolen much, much more. After that happened, i bought a shipping cargotainer and store all my project cars 365 nights a year.

  • btw, nice build, S13RB20power!!! Did you go with a walbro 255lph pump? If you have more than 200,000 miles on the chassis, I would suggest pulling the fuel tank off and cleaning it thoroughly. Sadly, that sludge can give you inconsistent octane (especially while drifting around) and possibly gum up the fuel pump. Are you running a Fram G7404 fuel filter (300ZX TT replacement)?? You have a nice build, simple and clean.

  • hey rikiru thanks, i havent replaced the fuel pump with a walbro i used a stock skyline pump , but the chassis has 120k miles when i changed the pump the tank looked clean as a whisle.... but i have got the 300zx tt filter on there.

  • ahh, the skyline unit is more than enough :P I was able to pick up a walbro 255 for $70 shipped during a clearance sale..the regular $129 price would've had me sourcing a skyline unit, too. it's funny, you have people who will spend 10s of thousands of dollars on their cars and tuning..but they don't prepare their fuel delivery systems to cope :(

    I had pulled the tank off an 89 with 120K and it was also perfectly clean..but my first S13 (with 200K) looked like the exxon valdez oil spill

  • depends on your engine, a gt35 is big ass shit for a 2.0l, if you have a rb25 then i would be better, mine is not a gt its a little big bigger that a gt30, if i had to say if they made one a gt32, a gt30 compresser housing will not fit on mine at all....but anyways mine is a garrett t3/t04e hybrid, .60 trim but my ar is .63, not to bad lag time starts spooling at apx 3400 and full before 4000rpm, thats pretty laggy but it feels like some one rearends you when you hit about 14lbs,

  • thats cool you can pretty much get 12.5 to 13.00 in a 1/4 with a stock long block with bolts on like mine....metal head gasket you could be more reliable and probally push it a little more with out blowing it up....keep a rb20, and instead of spending all that on a rb25 just invest it in your rb since its the factory car and motor....thats my opionion, plus if you blow up a rb20 there cheaper to replace...lol thanks

  • yeah with the money being spent in the rb25 can be spent in the 20 for a spool conrods and some wiseco pistons.

    it would be basically the same as having a 25det since my hp goal is around 400whp. its just more easily attainable on the rb25det lol.

  • I would suggest a GT28RS for a RB20.

  • it is indeed the disco potato...but I don't believe it's the same as what came on the RB25DET..but it has been awhile since I researched boost :P

  • im pretty sure an rb25 turbo is the same as t28 but i think the exhaust housing is different for more top end power? on the discoe potatoe.

    it would be nice for the 300ish whp you could make though im sure.

  • the "best" turbo installed on the skylines was a dual ball bearing T28..a far step from the GT28RS.

  • i know one the rb26det a gt28rs twins would work good, but ithought they run out of there efficency right around 400whp on a single turbo setup, unless there is a bigger A/R turbine? im sure a gt35R would work better on a higher hp Rb25det?

  • lol, 385 whp would be more than enough..and would spool alot quicker. if ya wanted more power, the GT2871(R?) is a good step up.

  • sounds about right with the turbo upgrade. mine only took like 2k for a super basic swap. i dont wanna upgrade anything on that one cause its just my beater. if i were to waste more than 4k id rather go rb25 neo (which is now sitting my garage) :). but good work that looks clean ass hell. gl with it man.

  • only reason to go rb25 is if you want more than 400+hp, anything around that you can just do with an rb20.
