Stargate Worlds - Rifle Combat and Archeologist Disguise

I am a great fan of the stargate universe (like the whole galaxies and also the universe series) but I think this game is gonna fail, I like the concept of making a stargate game but this is not gonna hold, it just looks so boring to me :/ ,like humans having futuristic armors thats starwars not stargate I want to have SGC uniforms not some stormtropper outfit.

The sound effects for the weapons are identical to the ones in the Series...I also agree with having SG-Team Uniforms and Jaffa armors, but this will surely come later on, as far as I know they're still developing a big part of the game...

I'm looking forward to playing the beta :P !!

It's a bit early to tell. The game JUST came out of Closed Alpha, so they've still got a few years before it'll come out.

rofl, RTS verison of stargate? i don't even think there would be enough different type of troops for both sides in order to put in the needs for players. Almost everything in star gate is stream-lined and if it's an space RTS, then sadly the taur'ri really only have two ships. -_- Sadly, until i hear something official source, i consider it highly doubtful.

Im really hoping my laptop can handle this. I play WoW which works beautifully on this but i made the mistake of buying Age of Conan which lags really bad. Im hoping Stargate worlds graphics are really badass.

the end attack looked like a shotgun feature. so i'm guessing that means range also affects how much damage you do by a specific weapon right?

Personally i have no problem with an auto fire button.. I'm not a mindless MMORPG zombie or twitch addicted FPS player (No offence to any group, i play both) but imo an mmorpg is with auto attack (or fire) and abilities for special attacks (i guess in SGW it'll be stuff like cover fire or precision aiming?) what SGW then brings into the mix is cover which i think will give it a whole new dimension to consider while fighting.. but what do i know i havn't tried it. will just have to wait and see

Currently the game does have auto fire as well as activated abilities. I can't say if ALL weapons have auto fire or not. You might think of the auto fire as an auto attack found in traditional MMORPGs and the activated abilities as the special attacks. We are not a twitch game. Much of what makes combat in Stargate Worlds dynamic and different is the cover system which is not only usable by players but mobs will seek cover and use it as well.

I think closed beta has just started so sometime around next year.. As far as i have read it'll cost about the standard for this kind of game.. check the official forum (But don't make a new topic about free-2-play vs. pay-2-play... there's already been enough of those ;) )
