Ah no the E wasn't better with the R-40M/R-42's. I like the R-32's a lot as well the R-40M and R-42's...but the R-42's was a downgrade from the R-32's!
Between Canal Street and Chambers St-WTC, you can see a interesting remnant of planning for the IND Second System. This is visible from the front of a southbound (E) local train (R32 or R42/40M). From 4:12 to 4:15, if you look very closely, you can see a bellmouth in the tunnel heading to the left (east). This was a plan for a proposed line to run under Worth Street, East Bway, and towards South 4th Street station in Brooklyn. This was all part of the IND Second System planned in 1929.
Man I'm glad you uploaded this, I haven't been to WTC station since 2001. after WTC I never been around there again. Used to take PATH form New Jersey to WTC then 1,2,3,A,C, or E trains from there. So we went to 33rd/34th street station by PATH or 42nd st Bus Terminal by 99S bus.
try going there at rush hours =P how many E trains u see.... E trains were better with R32/40M/42/ little bit of 160As

i think it would be more appropriate to say "ground zero" rather than "world trade center" since the wtc no longer exists unfortunately

Well its up the families to tell the MTA to rename that station!
JamaicaQnzFreak 3 years ago
I think they should keep it because they are going to rebuild them.
