This may be the most depressing song ever written simply for the horrific sense of nostalgia it instills, i was born in 1990 and this still somehow manages to take me back to all the worst aspects of the 70s.
I see kids (mine included) bobbing their heads to the crap they listen too these days and I just shake my head. Those of you like me who grew up in an era when music was music are blessed, Those that didn't but appreciate it now are saved, Those that don't know or appreciate this music ...well...youre fucking damned to hell!
This song soothed me as a child throughout my life idk y but its the beat of my very soul i was born in 1995 and throughout even as a 4yr old this one songs words stayed in my head never to be forgotten this song reminds me of the security i felt with my parents and still feel Praise God for songsl ike this.
I think this is superb! Stop judging the attire! This was another era! You are obviously not from that time period! (mandayvu) Listen to the music! Stop judging the dress! That was not important at the time! Especially considering the horrible dress attires we see now adays! There is no more classic music like this now! Peace!
crazy thing is dude byron is my step moms brother in law he be over the house all the time course i neva really heard of the softones like dat but i dig their musik
@firechiefretired I don't believe that we will ever get back this kind of music, the ears of young people are already used to pop music, or rap music to "express" themselves. And It is, indeed the young people that shape the kind of music that is produced. I'm afraid that this kind of music doesnt speak to the young generation anymore
@Raiinjin I could not agree more. Music should express a story of sorts, either happy or sad , but a story with a beginning , a middle & of course the conclusion . Most songs back in the day that we listened to would allow us to feel attachment and say, " I can relate to that, that happened to me, that reminds me of ", but most of all that music allows us to escape to our younger years when everything was much simpler . I miss those times !!!
Pretty, Pretty was song by the original Joneses, (Ramone, Wendell Noble and Sam White) They are still singing with the Drifter, Coasters, and the Platters. There is a huge demand for them to return and they are in the process of doing so. They are still sounding great and looking even better. All who wish to can contact Ramone Noble at 702-875-1029
Smiling, I gotta find that song. I use to live in Baltimore and I remember those songs you've posted and how I was enjoying my teenage life and man you really took me there a minute. I've been gone for a long time but my heart is still in Baltimore.
Melanie Fiona brought me here.

It was The Joneses in 1969. It was the a-side, and Mary, Mary was the b-side. They were from Baltimore.
