  • Hey Youtubers. Need a bit of help recreating a dipping sauce. I tried this garlic sauce in a Tea Cup in Pasadena, CA. I remember it had finely chopped garlic (tiny lil pieces) and maybe a tad fishy taste. The sauce looked medium brown and a tiny tiny bit oily (could see few bubbles in the sauce). I have tried several garlic sauces but they dont match the taste. It was not spicy either. Would love to try out your version of garlic sauce :) thanks!

  • hi cookingwithdog. After making the fillings, my fillings has lots of liquid floating on top of the bowl.....Is it because i didnt drain the vegetables well after rinsing? It always came out wet and make the gyoza skins sticky

  • @kyouhei0kun I've never tasted it but I've also never found one that smelled good. Try dividing the dish at the point when you add the sake and add it only to one part. That way you can try both and see if you like them or not Even if you don't like them at least you tried and you can wrap up the ones you don't like and give them to someone who does! That way everyone gets to enjoy your cooking :)

  • Jessie11B - you can find them at your local grocery store. I find mine at Cub Foods. If your store doesn't carry them try an Asian food store. The wrappers are a refrigerated item so keep that in mind when looking for them.

  • I've watched some video's on making gyoza. Some fry them first and than add water, some add water from the beginning. Which one is the best? Or doesn't it matter?

  • @MsKelevra adding water before for me is better, it helps gyoza to preserve its flavor, but its up to you.

  • @MsKelevra i had the some problem first time i wanted to make gyoza. i did add water first and then fried them, i think thats way better and they dont burn that easily. but u should try for yourself ^^

    Sift two cups of all-purpose flour into a bowl, and stir in 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Add a 1/2 cup of boiling hot water in small portions, stirring until you can make a ball of the dough. You might need a little more water. Let your dough sit for an hour in the bowl, covered with a damp cloth. Dust your work surface with flour, roll the dough out really thin, and use a circular cookie cutter to make 3" circles from the dough, and refrigerate what you don't use!
