When he shows what people are going through, it helps others realizing that they're not alone and that there are others who are going through the same and when he gives them advice it's something that's not only for the invidual person in the show but also the viewers at home.

Fx. stuff about teenagers, alcohol, drugs but more than that. Something for parents to be aware of or pay attention to or something that goes for all of us.

A lot of the things adressed on Dr. Phil are prety serious, and it must serve some positive function i'm sure. But it just seems that you've got this camera poking it's nose into some prety personal business. As a family man some of these things are just more genuine taught from heart to heart, not hyped upon TV.
