@Zoasterboy I don't agree with that, sorry. A lot of their songs sound incredibly Devo-esque to me. But that's just my opinion, everybody hears something different when they listen to music.
I just luv this, everything captainbuckahoe doesn't like about this, is what I like about this...funny eh. I'm remembering this from way, way, way back, and I am smiling!!!! Thanks m8
@CapTainBuckAHOE Ah, well that is the point of the song, typical of the genre, it is supposed to evoke said feelings and express those felt by the artist, randomness indeed. Synthpunk is a branch of art - punk, so it is related to performance art also.
I found The Units' 1979 single Warm Moving Bodies/I-Night in a box in the basement today. I suspect it is quite rare. I have no record player so I can't upload it.
This was probably The Units most popular song where I lived in Dallas in the early 80s, the song of theirs most frequently played on underground music programs and in underground clubs.
A friend of mine was an engineer at Big Pink West (Mill Valley? Sausalito? It's been a while) and I think I might have been there when this was recorded, but I never got the album. Saw them live once or twice. Long ago ...

Early 70's is early electronic music...early '80's is the beginning of the end of the analog synth era....which, by the way, is being revived.

Saw this band play at the Hong Kong Cafe in Chinatown. If I remember, they played with the B-People and Wall of Voodoo...
