Thanks for the tour. Brings back old memories. I was stationed at Ledward Barracks from 89-93. Saw Berlin Wall come down and Desert Storm. Wild ride those 4 years. But seriously, this was great, thanks for sharing. And oh, that first gate at Ledward, I caught an ex East German officer guard on the run for shooting people crossing into the west during the cold war. He was seeking asylum on base. Polizei hauled him away.
@HCGJourni167- if you think schweinfurt is bad, you should have seen our last germany duty station in Babenhausen- all we had was a bk - no stores or anything else!- we had to take the train 45 minutes away to the next base in darmstadt to shop for everything
@HCGJourni167- the entire town is a redlight district- those houses are all over the place- including a ring on post which is why we dont live there- we refused to live where that is going on- we thought it was just rumor but the housing office confirmed it and advised us not to live on base if we dont have to- our store is awful- everything is expired or rotten and its annoying- I need to shop off post more
WOW! Your area is so much different than Stuttgart. I don't think I would have been able to stay there for 7 years. You poor thing...mold on the lettuce at the commissary....that is horrible! I have a field of yellow right outside my guest room window. It's beautiful. Can't believe you showed the redlight district. OPSEC girl! :)
You scared me at first. It was like the Blair Witch Project at first. I didn't know you were Tapping out. How long will you be here? You have beautiful hair. He needs to keep up his fighting strength...he needs those candy bars. LOL
@runkman44- I seen that you are Lutheran- you might like my video on my other page of Wartburg castle. That is where Martin Luther translated the bible and put on trial for his writings- if you watch the movie Luther, it was filmed in the exact location and you can see more- also, the second church Luther took over from the Catholics is in my little town too- it still has bullet holes in it from WW1
@runkman44 - I know- his comments are awful- he was doing that to annoy me and it worked as you can tell from the video- I think I snapped at him at least 3 or 4 times to be quiet- you are a plane man, did you know that the town I live in now is where the biggest air raid from the entire war happened? I think it was something like 500 bombs were dropped on this little town and they missed the target :( the bike was also invented here :)
you guys think smooth move powerful? I have been drinking it for a week and no results! thank you for sharing! my husband was stationed in Schweinfurt in the early 80's at Ledward! We both watched and he reminisced about Schweinfurt !! He said he would love to see a clip of downtown if you ever have time!
