  • If they really made the bats look realistic then nobody would care about them, bats in real life are fugly! I'm glad they made look the way they look, I think it's great! This show was unique and kinda dark for a cartoon, that's why I loved it!

  • This is SOOOO different from the book >.>

  • this is not at all what i thought it was gonna be it kinda sucks ruins the book

  • I read the book , and this is almost the same!

  • @coolo39919 It isn't at all, wow.

  • Movie is way different missing all the main points book beats movie all 3 of them

  • I read the book ! :)

  • this movie dissapoints.

  • They look nothing like the ones described in the book.

I read it and met Oppel myself, so I know it's way different.

  • I'm not a kid and I like the way they are! human hair, anthro and all LOL. It's called character design <3 watch this watch?v=1NOi4XaVyIY and stop insulting this movie i love it<3

  • @KazikuEntertainment Yeah I can see by your channel why you like the look of this. This is not supposed to be cutesy like pokemon or some stupid cartoon furry series.

  • I feel that Silverwing relates to me very well.

  • wait arent owls naturnal too?

  • I have read all the books, and I think this movie should be more realistic. I am very disapointed.... This seems like it is for five year olds, yet the books are not...

  • This was one of my favorite books growing up, it's sad to see that it was adapted into.... this.

  • @HybridFights I don't know. From what I read about the books (I have yet, regrettably, to lay hands on a copy of them), I can see at least one definite improvement.

  • @HybridFights what's wrong with the show, sure it looks kinda cheesy, but then again, all anime/cartoons are

  • Shade's Voice sounds familier like from a show idk where so and also shanuk's voice too from somewhere can anyone tell me where they voice came from a show besides this

  • I miss this show!! Used to watch it all the time on Tv 'cause I love bats (:

  • ive read the book a few times and i saw a glimpse of the movie channel surffin and i wanted to watch it :)

  • oh i thik i rread the book for this

  • omg, this is retarded. owls sound NOTHING like hawks. thumbs up if you agree. owls are supposed to HOOT!! ):<

  • @owlninja993 actually owls will screech like hawks when they attack prey or when fighting other owls but even then it depends on the species of owl

  • @CelestialDragon1000

Soren "yeah i know that, mostly Tyto's screech just like me (barn owl). (barn owls, grass owls, masked owls, sooty owls, all in the Tyto family.) but still, when they made the owl screech in this movie they made it look like Racdrops!!"

  • ugh, silverwing turned into crap for furfags(

    Hair, what?

  • What is this? Because it sure isn't Silverwing...

  • When i get old enough I am going to try to animate realistc not like this.

  • lol i think i have seen this some where

  • isit just me or did it look like chinook's friend, had a crush on his dad? or just my imahination.

  • Oh my god, they ruined Silverwing. =((

  • Dude they should make a remake this year with dreamworks or something...

  • @ILoveYourMom88 Wasn't that called How to Train Your Dragon? ;D

  • Wow, I thought these were good when I was younger

  • he was a fruit bat...

  • I watched this when I was a lil kid I was 4 at the time and sents then I could only remember like 1 or 2 parts in it

  • you "FRUIT" bat LmAo Hmm wonder what he meant by that? lol i rhymed..okay i'll shut up now

  • i love the book. Shade is such a character.

  • amazing book, and darkwing is really great too.

  • Ya know, at first I wasn't so sure about this animation style, but it's grown on me :)

  • the owl...makes hawk noises?

  • Lol, this is such a fur-flick.

  • @BlasphemousApples It drives me nuts that they think the only way to keep kids interested in animals is to make them all look like gargoyles, make them all different colors, have them speak in lame pop-culture speak and give them freaking human hair.

These...are not bats. And this...is not Siverwing.

Read a freaking book guys. -_-

  • @wingedsonar I have to agree actualy. If they were going to turn it into a film they could have at least put some efort into actualy making them look realistic.

  • @wingedsonar I thought that too. I thought that the voices sucked, the animation wasn't that great, and the entire movie it's self didn't pay Kenneth Oppel for his epic work on the book. That's why I thought that they should make a re-make with more realistic animation and better fitting voices.

  • @ILoveYourMom88 yaaa... but considering.... i don't think i'd want this connected in any way to the book. it was too good for the choppy animation and cheesy lines.

  • @wingedsonar

the books were very very good but we all have a secret enjoyment to watch strange kid shows at some point in time well least i do XD

  • @director0kala Agreed. I nostalgia all over the place. I think the problem was the designers mainly. The writers did try to introduce a few new species and intrigue. Lulz go to the "black bear who happens to be white" with an African accent. Get it? But yeah, the writers tried to emulate Oppel's tale.

  • @wingedsonar i know right?! everthing reminds me of gargoyles-its sad&pointless.and i didn't know that there was a book.

  • @FightsRightsAlways The first book is fun, and the mistakes made about bats are forgivable. For a look at Oppel's progress in writing about animals, see "Darkwing." It doesn't tie into the original trilogy, so you can read it without worries. The evolution theory is butchered for the sake of good story telling, but I really enjoyed this last installment. Highly recommended for teens or older.

  • @wingedsonar are all the books good? I might wanna buy them....

  • @ChimeraFox181 A hundred times better than the show, despite several errors, though I wasn't crazy about the third one. Personally, if I could do it all over again, I'd skip Firewing. Reds and Silvers can't breed, and Reds are solitary, not desperately seeking to rejoin any group. Period. Darkwing doesn't deal with the trilogy, and Oppel's story-telling has vastly improved in that one. Evolution is botched in it, but despite my nerding...I found myself enjoying it very much.

  • @wingedsonar sounds like good books, I like anything that has to do w/ bats.1 question though, waht are "Reds"? I know that the Silvers are silver-winged bats, but not sure on them. Thx, 4 the reply :)

  • @ChimeraFox181 Oh, right, reds are what Marina was based off in the books. Reds have a very rounded appearance, and the females have a pale coat and a pudgy face with tiny round ears. They also lack a leaf nose, as do silvers. The book notes Marina as having a "delicate leaf nose," and the show...well...yeah... Then again, the first book also says Goth has a 6-foot wingspan, which is only true of the fruit eaters. The second book notes the correct wingspan suddenly. lol. Editors, anyone?

  • @wingedsonar lol! Thx ;) I'm seriously gonna have ta get these books!

  • @wingedsonar i know right?

  • @wingedsonar sadly...this is accurate to the storyline.... but they completely butchered the looks and dialogue... sigh.......

  • @444prfctdeth At first it is accurate as far as any adaptation is. But later on...there's just so much filler. And yeah... "Who the bat!? YOU the bat!" They might as well be texting on their ecophones. XD

  • @wingedsonar Its kinda more that the character designers were lazy and decided they didn't want to spend the time making them look realistic but individualistic and resorted to cheap tricks like adding hair to distinguish the characters. The result of a low budget and unimaginative designers.

  • i liked darkwing better

  • I DETEST how they turned the book characters into these wierd gargoyls with hair.

  • i almost forgot everything but silverwing is the only book i read

  • =O, this is interesting, I read the books years ago, I forgot most of it, but ty for posting, this is gonna be fun to watch

  • This is an awesome movie

  • I loved the books. I always pictured everything differently but so far this seems promising. I can't wait until Moonwing comes out (Oppel is working on it and he said there are at least 2 more books after that)

  • really? that's awesome!

  • omg!!! i read the book..... amazing work of art....

  • you know, I'm pretty sure that this is the tv show, not the movie, seeing as i have seen all the episodes, and this is exactly like it

  • exactly right!

  • The bats look like lions dammit!

  • chinook dude

  • lol saw the tv show a while back forot about it read the books loved them heard their was a tv show looked it up and remembered lol love this series so much

  • :P hurm this looks good! and i thought i reconised that voice XD i wanna read the book now

  • HOLY FUDGE.

i didnt read the book, but im likin' the movie so far. : DD

OMFG, i love that bat (shnook?) 's voice! i forgot the name of the voice actor but i KNOW he voiced Kero in the English Dub of CardCaptor Sakura! OwO

  • not a movie... a TV series

  • actually both Because it can be individual episodes or it has been made into three seperate movies

  • Huh. The bats' bodies are a little too human like, but other than that it seems a pretty decent representation. Anyone else reminded of that cartoon Chaotic?

  • no not really

  • what the fuck...stop spamming

  • I like the graphics

  • it's certanly interseting.

  • I always pictured the characters a bit defferently, a bit extreme on personalities imo

  • Yeah me too

  • i think that the movie and the book is good and if u don't think that then sorry.........

  • not a movie... a TV series

  • I love silver wing its just like warriors ina way

  • i hate it.

  • wtf

  • I like it.

  • What do you think

  • @marco1140 Ya I read the first book but I leant out the second one -_- to my cousin but when I get it back I am reading it 'cause I miss the show :(

  • @marco1140 I read the whole series by Kenneth Oppel, and I agree that the pictorial representation is utterly false. Why can't they make them look realistic. They are silver-haired bats, black with silver tipped fur. No weird colors, punk hair styles, etc. I also hate when they have bats standing and walking on their feet. They can't do this! Only the vampire bat can run for a short distance, but cannot stand like these "bats" are doing.
