I don't know about that, in my opinions sonic adventure was a flawless sonic game, perfect in everyway, escpescially for it's time. And on top of that truly the LAST great sonic game.

Aside from some speedrun differences, characters aren't as shiny on DC, most levels look different graphic-wise on DC, and you can't skip cutscenes on DC.
As for Knuckles, it's hard not to know what to do with any character, since the game tells you in two ways.
Try to maintain control the best you can. Controls are a little touchy, so be a little careful. If necessary, jump over the dash panels so you don't go too fast.
I can't remember exactly, but I think it's available from the beginning. Look around in the menus to find the Sand Hill subgame. I don't have my copy of SADX right now, so I don't know exactly where to go.
