This Daina has very special meaning to me. It is specifically dedicated to my late piano teacher, Mr. Hugo Strauss (while in San Francisco, CA, 1975-1979), who, before I left to join the Air Force and become a fighter pilot, gave me the score (a copy of the original in the composer's hand writing). Over the years, he played this for me a few times, and Ms Cirule plays it just as wonderfully. I do play several of the Dainas myself but this one is difficult for me. Anyway, bravo!
