Fantastic played by Albrecht Mayer. A breathtaking transcription for oboe, beautiful timing and warm sound. Ofcourse, we all know that this is original written for soprano. But well done Albrecht! There are not so many hoboplayers in the world with this quality

That's not "improv" exactly. Its just embellishment. It was very common, and still is today, to embellish repeated phrases to make them more interesting the second time around. Albrecht's is some of the most musical embellishing I have ever heard. He is no cheater. Haha! :D
