  • I can understand people putting their hope in a mere man. "Everybody's looking for a hero; we all need someone to look up to." I hope people can see Obama is not the messiah. He is just a man with a gift for words, a pretty face and the right color for the time he was elected by racists in the US who care mostly about skin tone. He's an elitist like the nobility in Scotland of old under which the people suffered. Our gifts come from God and nature not man. Long live Scotland and America.

  • This is a very nice video. I liked everything except the picture of Obama. He has nothing to do with Scotland.

  • @swiiila

Obama is in the video when the lyrics say ‘born to give hope to this world... a sign for tomorrow, a change to repair, a warning to all of the change in the air’. I personally feel there is a global change in the air and the photos at that point are the show that! This video was made before Obama was made president...Thanks for your kind comments.

  • She says "God Bless the King". Are you going to invite King Francis back?

  • In the legand of the white stag when one is born so is a king for Scotland ... Or a leader ...

  • Superb. Makes me proud to be tartan!!!

  • Another cronic shit peddler from the Youtube masses spouts again. Catch a grip, get a life and recogise national pride when you see it bawjaw! Still making me tingle when i hear it Jan. See you again soon. Andy ^_^

  • May I suggest you get a dictionary, old man?

  • You may suggest what you like; whether I take heed is another matter. I dont come onto youtube to practice my diction nor my annunciation, rather to listen to Auntie Jans dulcet tones! If i want to get into a debate over literacy I will take that up elsewhere. Its a sad day when someone comes on to a friends listing to pick up typos. Its time for you to step away from the computer, go on a diet, and get a life. And for the record, youve a good 13 years on me, Old Man!

  • I actually think you are TRYING to be one of the funniest things on YT with this comment! WTF, Are you retarded? :)

  • Actually Jan Douglas is a bit of a comedian. I cant tell you the laughs that the gang have had, however this song a masterpiece written and performed from the heart. I think it is a powerful message of hope, freedom and pride. It gives me goose bumps every time.

  • I Will Avenge those who Mock the Great JAN and this, HER, Great Song!! But NOW I must have some TOAST and MARMITE!! I Will Return!!!

  • The 2 footballers who appear on the video are Jinky Johnston of Glasgow Celtic and Jim Baxter of Glasgow Rangers.

  • My Sincere Thanks for everyone comments, I am so glad you have had enjoyment from my song as it very special to me for many reasons Warmest Wishes for 2009 to everyone who viewed and took time to listen to my song xxx Jan D

  • That's a lovely song, especially the broad scottish accent makes it so majestic. Brings back nice memories of Scotland to me. Peter
