Driving well in snow depends 1/4 on having your vehicle prepared, and 3/4 on the driver's ability. Even without any kind of winter preparation, you should still be able to drive away without having any of this happen.
The guys with the Dodges (black pickup and silver Durango) have no idea of what they are doing. They spin WAY too much, heating the tires and creating smooth ice underneath the tires. My compliments to "Grand Am Lady" for having at least fair rocking technique, and knowing when to shovel. If it regularly snows where you live, buy snow tires.

What's necessary is a friction in a snowy district drive. A simple tool can increase that.
