The Resident Evil movies were supposed to be just like the game and the script was written by George A. Romero. Unfortunately, Capcom became little fugly bitches and decided to send it to the trash and picked the script that featured Alice.
oookay fair enough if you don't like the movies but if your going to say why you don't like it, you need to give more reasons then general topics and need to say more then, you simply didn't like it.. an example is you could have said why you didn't like that the character Alice was being repeated.. more depth in your reasoning.... and please stop saying like every second word
1: The movies established the T-Virus was an airborne strain and no one wears any form of protection and also viruses can not evaporate water.
2: The literal money shot, for some ungodly reason using coins as a substitute for actual ammunition that seems super effective on undead creatures even though coins jam guns.
3:The sheer dumb fuckery making favorite characters useless in the combat department and the Mary Sue that hordes the spotlight.
The most sad thing is at the beginning Romero was hired as writer and director, indeed he finished the script and believe me, is WAY BETTER than the crap written by Pau "Douche"l Anderson. Thanks a bunch Capcom for screwed such a wonderful chance to make a one damn good movie based in a videogame! THANKS A LOT CAPCOM AN I HOPE YOU SCREW YOU TOO!

The zombies and the other monsters were so fake , Nemesis was totally a pussy in Apocalypse and , wtf , Tyrant had psychic powers and he was able to speak like a human being . They had no G-Virus and no Veronica-Virus . I wonder , when will they stop making Resident Evil movies and finally reboot the series ???? And last but not least , I don't think I'll watch Afterlife because I don't want to see Wentworth Miller playing Chris .

The films were horrible , but the problem is , people who haven't played the games like these films a lot and they don't understand why the fans don't like the movies . After watching the previous three Resident Evl movies , I have no interest in watching Afterlife .
I was disappointed with RE movies. If you threw enough money at it, hired the best actors and had cutting edge zombie CG and makeup you could release yet another zombie movie and it would still be a blockbuster. The game is that good.
There is a lot of potential for an RE movie, even now. However, it can’t be just another 28 days later/left4dead style film. There needs to be more suspense and mystery surrounding the zombies. In RE 1, I was shitting myself; there was so much suspense and tension- and that was just when I was dealing with 1 zombie in a dark lonely corridor.
That's it. You just said it. That was where the "fear" came from. The mystery of the zombies. What were they, why do they eat people? That's what's missing.
I think that the true spirit was lost when RE adopted the fast easy zombies, and by the time Hollywood got hold of it, the genera wasn’t even survival horror anymore. My point is that if another attempt is made at a resident evil movie, they should spend more time building up the zombies (more mystery, better makeup, more character). Shawn of the fucking dead did a better job at this, and it was a comedy.
I liked the movies and played all the games. The only reason I liked the movies were because I just put aside the fact that it had no connection to the games. To me, they were just like other movies that had no connection with anything else.
Afterlife was a rip off though they completely misunderstood Wesker's character..

@zelta777 I agree the movies are too much about Milla Jovovich, its a step in the right direction that Milla Jovovich will not be in the prequel but I cant see the movie being any good anyway. The franchise needs a proper reboot, it would be best to start a fresh and make the movies more like the games.

Why the RE movies suck....I dont know maybe cuz they have nothing 2 do with the games and the star of the movie is super woman (not that I have probs with women) thats not even a char in the game and the 3rd Resident Evil movie is crap...I liked the dumb slow zombies more than these fast running kinda smart zombies besides our RE heroes in the game r working their ass off just 2 stop apocalypse and since were playing the game I dont think zombie apocalypse is going 2 happen
Final Fantasy Film is expected to be nothing about the game, hence the actual title Final fantasy "The Spirit Within." Even so teh games themselves dont even revolve around the same characters, storyline even universe (to an extent). Back on topic the films RE films suck though.
Paul Anderson said in a interview if the movies followed the plot exactly as the game series everybody will know the development and ending. In this point he`s absolutely right: faithfulness is not necessary a guarantee (some masterpieces as Blade Runner differed completely from the original source)..BUT AT LEAST BE FAITHFUL TO THE MOTIF, CORE, SPIRIT, WHATEVER YOU CALL it! That`s what pissed me off of Resident Evil movies!
@Gridseeker i agree with you, what i was saying earlier was that, replying to your comment, Anderson lied about the film being closely related to the game, it is actually in the purest art-form loosely related to the game in the worst way possible. Just seeing the 1st movie followed by watching trailers to the sequels I was turned off. The movie trys way to hard to draw audience members in and forgets to tell the story of the game

Sadly most of videogamers are just guys who are satisfied enough with hot chicks. @MrJackThompson Sadly videogamers are very easy to please, at the contrary of fans of other kind of arts like novels or even comics. Another example, "Batman & Robin" flick really pissed off the fans of the comic character and Warner Bros realized that, that`s why the studios decided to do a reboot and employed another director and writer, it pass almost 10 years for another flick of Batman but Warner rectified it, even the director Joel Schumacher apologized for such horrible movie!

Yeah, the flick has its flaws, somebody who didn`t played the game probably wouldn`t understand a damned thing, but at least they made the movie thinking in the people who played the videogame, they kept the atmosphere, Pyramid head was scary like the videogame, even they employed some songs from the original video games! @Gridseeker Well, if you want to create a completely original story you don´t base it of a videogame, a book or even another movie. I understand they have to change some things since it would have been rather boring to watch a film where the characters only walk around, shooting an occasional zombie and find cranks and jewels. But they could have followed the overall story.
The animated movies certaintly did´nt have a problem with that.
@Nekhet As I said being faithful to the original source is not necessary a guarantee that the flick would be superb. As I mentioned Ridley Scott took many liberties to shot "Blade Runner", despite the critic reaction at its time was very warm, now this movie is considered a masterpiece. At the opposite, "Parfume: The story of a murderer", based in the novel by Patrick Suskind, was way too faithful to the original source but the movie is complete mess!
@Nekhet In this case, the Resident evil movies are the third option. I explained before that I don`t have any trouble if some changes or liberties are taken, particularly if both are in order to develop a better script, like Christopher Nolan and his brother did with the Batman movie trilogy...BUT THIS ASSHOLE OF PAUL ANDERSON TOOK TOO MUCH LIBERTIES BUT CAPCOM GAVE ITS BLESS.

@Gridseeker I see what you mean now.. Well, for some reason the gamestudies don´t really care how the movie scripts for the games look like. They probably just sell the rights, count the money and say "good luck"... Or at least that is what I imagine they do, hehe:).
But you know; I think that most videogames based movies have taken too many liberties. Especially in movies like Hitman and Resident Evil.
@Nekhet Maybe this is root of this entire mess: most of video game companies are just concerned with the money o copyrights and doesnt care if the franchise is screwed or not. The same happened with Doom videogame (My god! What were ID soft thinking?!). Perhaps Konami is the only excepction, as far I understand they watched the shooting and script of Silent hill movie and they didn`t allowed Sony to take many liberties from the Metal Gear Solid Movie, in fact the movie is officially canceled.
@Gridseeker Well, I do believe I´ve read somewhere that the writer of Max Payne (can´t remember his name) almost hated the Max Payne film (he was the writer of the script for the games). But for some reason he did´nt have anything to say about how the filmscript should have been. Poor guy.
Anyway, you would figure that both the film and gaming companies would like the movies to at least contain most of the game characters and their relation to each other..
@Nekhet Well, because the copyrights of Max Payne are hold by a company, not the writer itself. Not a videogame, but in the case of Harry Potter, I think I read somewhere that J.R Krowling has the copyrights so she watched closely the process of script writing and even she demand the entire cast must be British. Another example was the Sin city movie, Robert Rodriguez ask in person to Frank Miller showing some footage he shot and Fran Miller was so amazed that he help in the direction too.
@Gridseeker Yes, Rowling turned many script suggestions down and it´s true that she demanded a British cast. But all this was part of the ocntract with the filmcompany. The videogame studies could have done the same thing, but for some reason they don´t. And I think that is really strange since, it´s pretty obvious that the first people who wants to see the movie are the fans of the videogame it´s based upon.
@Nekhet As I mentioned, videogames companies and their fans are very easy to please as the opposite of owners or authors of other kind of works like comics or novels and their respective fans. Most of video gamers are males that are concerned just to push some buttons, not to enjoy the plot.
@Gridseeker Sadly that is true. Fortuenately though it do seem that there are more and more companies who actually are concerned with plot, background, character development and even political comments/statements (Fallout, Bioshock and to some extent RDR).
But yes, most gamers are still only concerned about graphics and gameplay. And if they put neough cool, mMatrix look alike fighting scenes in the movies based upon the games then they will be satisfied for some time.

Another sad example is "House of the dead" movies (MAN! I love HOFTD more than RE! I´ve played every game and finished it without any continue!): both movie were a bunch of crap but at least Sega kept the atmosphere and core of the videogames, but BUT Capcom since RE 4 they copied many cliches from the movies (Gosh, was necessary to copy the laser room!?)

@Nekhet LMAO! Not a bad idea at all! About RE6, even Capcom own information is contradictory: somebody from the company said that Wesker died but later someone else from Capcom ambiguously pointed out that Wesker is still alive and things are just beginning to warm up.
About the Romero scritp again, other changes were Brad Bickers was with the commando instead being the chopper pilot, but their personality was still and even in the script he is mentioned among his partners as "chicken heart".

@Nekhet That´s right! Romero turned him into a computer geek commando but in the script he is bitten by the zombie shark and didn´t tell to anybody about it but at the end he turns into a zombie. Another interesting fact is Chris being Jill´s boyfriend (even there´s a soft intercourse scene at the beginning of the script between both of them) and the Alpha and Bravo team are formed into one group...Yeah! Enrico, Richard, Joseph, everybody are there!

Romero´s self told me in a video conference his script was rejected by Screen Gems because they considered it TOO SIMILAR TO THE VIDEOGAME PLOT! Instead they want to create a new story. @Nekhet Well, I think the other reason was the budge: from the zombie dog until Tyrant, EVERY CRITTER FROM THE VIDEOGAME WAS IN THE SCRIPT. The zombies, the mutant plant, the zombie sharks, even the HUNTERS! But then Paul Anderson made his appearance with a script more cheaper. As Romero explained in the video conference that I assisted, when you write a script, you have to keep in mind the budget, the more the cheaper the more interested the studios would be.
@Gridseeker Well, could´nt they just have excluded some of the evil-doers?? I don´t think many fans would have objected to an abscent plant, shark or a zombie or two.. Besides, they clearly don´t look at the budget anymore in the later installments. The Resident Evil movies have basically turned into a "how many slow-mo, Matrix lookalike, action scenes starring Milla Jovovich can we put in this flick" movie.
@Gridseeker Yes, that is better. And you are absolutely right. Someday I hope they will kick Anderson and Jovovich of this series and do a reboot of it. Kinda like what Capcom is doing to the game series. They at least have realized that this shooter-action with less to none horror elements just does´nt work with the RE series.
BTW: Did Romeros script say anything about Jill Sandwiches or that Jill is The Master of Unlocking. Cause that would have been hilarious:D
@Nekhet Uuuhh, I don´t remember well, I guess I have to read the script again, but I remember Jill was going in a jeep with other commando and was ambushed by some critters, being the only survivor and then joining with Wesker and company.

About the game, other complain I have from RE 4 is Capcom have focused too much in Leon, Chris, Jill and Claire. One o the reasons I liked the old RE was the vast universe of characters, they could made a game featuring Barry, Rebecca, Carlos, they had a lot of characters! But since then they focuse just in Chris, Jill, Leon and that´s all. What happened with Rebecca and Burry?
@Nekhet I have to recognize I haven´t played RE 6 yet due I don´t have the money to buy new generation console or a Ninja PC :( (but I have the three figures release by Neca which are very cool!). About the plot, the idea of Jill being dead was cool but stupid Capcom revealed the plot with the trailers.

@Gridseeker Believe me. After Extinction I simply denied ever watching another installment in that horrible series again. I´m even surprised I held out that long. And yes; Jill in the movies is nothing like the videogame character. @Nekhet Dont worry buddy! I´ve read the script and is by far ONE THOUSAND TIMES BETTER! Every character and monster from the videogame was present, just some changes like the addition of another female commando besides Jill and Rebecca, Barry was black and Gulf War veteran along with Wesker and also his friend, they found three researchers alive in the lab room, one of them is...Ada Wong (!!) and Chris wasn´t a STAAR, but an half blood Indian but still the main character of the movie.

I agree Ricardo, also Milla Jovovich is pretty ordinary looking really underneath all that makeup and she has no shape to her. I cant understand why people (mainly teen boys) get so fanatical about her, its a mystery. She isnt even a competent actress either and was not suited to the Resident Evil films at all, they could have been good films but just arent, such a pity we deserved better than what we got.
Wow! You are the first guy I ever heard that from. I think Milla should stick to doing what she does best and that was modeling. Resident Evil doesn't cut out for her. They did have George Romero do the script for Resident Evil, but they thought he was being too close to the game or some reason-he got booted off. So they picked Paul Anderson instead.
Pretty much everything on my mind. By 3 it was pretty good sci-fi, but still shitty for the Resident Evil franchise, because it already had it's own great story(although 4 and 5 are pretty much doing the same thing) when I have this argument with people I use the Final Fantasy movie as an example, too :P.
I got here from a comp video from Nemesis, and just those CG scenes alone, I thought that's how good zombie/monster scenes are done.
These films are just about Milla Jovovich, but she isnt a good enough actress to make it work, she is hopeless really, her relationship with Paul W S Anderson has of course had a huge impact on how the series planned out. The games are so much better.

@0kayzee0 I won't deny I enjoyed watching 3 for the most part, and will likely give a rental to 4, and Milla is most definitely HOT and great to watch :P. I can only be so angry, I don't like the gameplay direction of the new RE games either but they were still done well and are fun to play. (story and mostly characters are still annoying as shit)

Afterlife looks like a complete insult. It looks like Matrix filled with feminism (just judging from what they say in the movie). How hard was it make a normal movie about zombies in a movie, WITHOUT scantily dressed women, and thrash music.
@Killerladies1 You are way wrong. In order to follow a story, the plot doesn't have to be chronological but it at least has to apply to the main characters and/or any plot twists. Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Chris and Jill Valentine are the main protagonists in the series, NOT ALICE! And none of the events follow. They throw some RE terminology in there, some characters, and some creatures. Yeah, they throw in the T-Virus but nothing is as follows. Piss poor movies. Great games.

I didnt like the movies, theres no point to call it Resident Evil. Sure it has zombies and odd creatures and monsters and Umbrella Corperation in the movie, but the main characters arent in it. Theres no Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Brad Vickers, or Sheva Alomar. Instead we get a women named Alice? Its nothing compared to the games, story or characters. It would'v been fair if it was called sumthin else, other than Resident Evil. Its nothing like it at all.
They just mashed up everything from the storyline. It's like the writer just watched a bunch of cut scenes from the game and made up their own unconnected story that is WAY crappier then the story in the game. The first movie almost have the early RE game "feel" in the beginning of that movie but then became something else/action cop movie. It's supposed to be about survival horror, not action explosion movie. They RUINED it and since, the NEW games have started to reflect the movies.

At first ithought that jovovich characther is made after birkin's wife, Annete, but then it didn' made any sence at all... in that movie virus was made by a crazy wheelchaired moron who wanted his daughter to walk again, yeah very touching, an only then umbrella got it's hands on it, and Alice is just way too powerfull: burning crows, making ppl eyebleed AND dealing with nemesis with bare hands that a BS and nothin but BS, movie was made for wider audience. I hate to say it but the Resident evil movies were basically suppose to put all they're characters into reality. The movie was to be more realistic but it suffered with insuffiecnt creatures and the specialized zombies. And the Ground-zero of the second one did horrible, need improvement. And dont blame the final fantasy movies, Of course the the first movie had a different story line but at least the action and the bond w/ each character made the movie a good movie.
They should haave keept it as a side story. The first one was ok. But the rest...NO WAY. They ruind the hole thing. How menny stars memebers survived the mansion. Four members. Barry, Jill, Chris and rebecca ( but she left ) Barry lives out side the town, Chris went to Paris where Umbrella main HQ is. Jill was the only one in town at the moment when the outbreak started. So I agree with you.
For all of you Hollywood neards who loved the movie, play the game and you will see for your self.
The Resident Evil movies were supposed to be just like the game and the script was written by George A. Romero. Unfortunately, Capcom became little fugly bitches and decided to send it to the trash and picked the script that featured Alice.

1: The movies established the T-Virus was an airborne strain and no one wears any form of protection and also viruses can not evaporate water.
2: The literal money shot, for some ungodly reason using coins as a substitute for actual ammunition that seems super effective on undead creatures even though coins jam guns.
3:The sheer dumb fuckery making favorite characters useless in the combat department and the Mary Sue that hordes the spotlight.

The zombies and the other monsters were so fake , Nemesis was totally a pussy in Apocalypse and , wtf , Tyrant had psychic powers and he was able to speak like a human being . I was disappointed with RE movies. If you threw enough money at it, hired the best actors and had cutting edge zombie CG and makeup you could release yet another zombie movie and it would still be a blockbuster. The game is that good.

There is a lot of potential for an RE movie, even now. However, it can’t be just another 28 days later/left4dead style film. There needs to be more suspense and mystery surrounding the zombies. In RE 1, I was shitting myself; there was so much suspense and tension- and that was just when I was dealing with 1 zombie in a dark lonely corridor.

I think that the true spirit was lost when RE adopted the fast easy zombies, and by the time Hollywood got hold of it, the genera wasn’t even survival horror anymore. My point is that if another attempt is made at a resident evil movie, they should spend more time building up the zombies (more mystery, better makeup, more character). Shawn of the fucking dead did a better job at this, and it was a comedy.

I liked the movies and played all the games. The only reason I liked the movies were because I just put aside the fact that it had no connection to the games. To me, they were just like other movies that had no connection with anything else.

Paul Anderson said in a interview if the movies followed the plot exactly as the game series everybody will know the development and ending. In this point he`s absolutely right: faithfulness is not necessary a guarantee (some masterpieces as Blade Runner differed completely from the original source)..BUT AT LEAST BE FAITHFUL TO THE MOTIF, CORE, SPIRIT, WHATEVER YOU CALL it! I understand they have to change some things since it would have been rather boring to watch a film where the characters only walk around, shooting an occasional zombie and find cranks and jewels. But they could have followed the overall story.
The animated movies certaintly did´nt have a problem with that.

As I mentioned Ridley Scott took many liberties to shot "Blade Runner", despite the critic reaction at its time was very warm, now this movie is considered a masterpiece. At the opposite, "Parfume: The story of a murderer", based in the novel by Patrick Suskind, was way too faithful to the original source but the movie is complete mess!

I explained before that I don`t have any trouble if some changes or liberties are taken, particularly if both are in order to develop a better script, like Christopher Nolan and his brother did with the Batman movie trilogy...BUT THIS ASSHOLE OF PAUL ANDERSON TOOK TOO MUCH LIBERTIES BUT CAPCOM GAVE ITS BLESS.

The same happened with Doom videogame (My god! What were ID soft thinking?!). @Gridseeker Well, I do believe I´ve read somewhere that the writer of Max Payne (can´t remember his name) almost hated the Max Payne film (he was the writer of the script for the games). But for some reason he did´nt have anything to say about how the filmscript should have been. Poor guy.
Anyway, you would figure that both the film and gaming companies would like the movies to at least contain most of the game characters and their relation to each other..

@Nekhet Well, because the copyrights of Max Payne are hold by a company, not the writer itself. Not a videogame, but in the case of Harry Potter, I think I read somewhere that J.R Krowling has the copyrights so she watched closely the process of script writing and even she demand the entire cast must be British. Another example was the Sin city movie, Robert Rodriguez ask in person to Frank Miller showing some footage he shot and Fran Miller was so amazed that he help in the direction too.

The videogame studies could have done the same thing, but for some reason they don´t. But yes, most gamers are still only concerned about graphics and gameplay. And if they put neough cool, mMatrix look alike fighting scenes in the movies based upon the games then they will be satisfied for some time.

@Nekhet LMAO! Not a bad idea at all! About RE6, even Capcom own information is contradictory: somebody from the company said that Wesker died but later someone else from Capcom ambiguously pointed out that Wesker is still alive and things are just beginning to warm up.
About the Romero scritp again, other changes were Brad Bickers was with the commando instead being the chopper pilot, but their personality was still and even in the script he is mentioned among his partners as "chicken heart".

@Nekhet Well, I think the other reason was the budge: from the zombie dog until Tyrant, EVERY CRITTER FROM THE VIDEOGAME WAS IN THE SCRIPT. The zombies, the mutant plant, the zombie sharks, even the HUNTERS! But then Paul Anderson made his appearance with a script more cheaper. As Romero explained in the video conference that I assisted, when you write a script, you have to keep in mind the budget, the more the cheaper the more interested the studios would be.

But I also think that they have used to much time on introducing new characters like Sheva. I do not really dislike her, but I do object to the fact that she was the one who got to take the final shot against Wesker and not Jill.

About the game, other complain I have from RE 4 is Capcom have focused too much in Leon, Chris, Jill and Claire. One o the reasons I liked the old RE was the vast universe of characters, they could made a game featuring Barry, Rebecca, Carlos, they had a lot of characters! But since then they focuse just in Chris, Jill, Leon and that´s all. What happened with Rebecca and Burry?

@Nekhet I have to recognize I haven´t played RE 6 yet due I don´t have the money to buy new generation console or a Ninja PC :( (but I have the three figures release by Neca which are very cool!). About the plot, the idea of Jill being dead was cool but stupid Capcom revealed the plot with the trailers.

@Nekhet Most of video game companies doesnt care if movies based in video games follow closely or not the original source, indeed Capcom´ve allowed Paul Anderson to do whatever he liked with the characters of RE, no matter if they become douches like Nemesis, Jill (Gosh, she was so useless in the movie!) or Chris Redfield. My only hope is someday video gamers wake up and stop watching that movie, as happened with Batman and Robin flick.

@Gridseeker Believe me. After Extinction I simply denied ever watching another installment in that horrible series again. I´m even surprised I held out that long. And yes; Jill in the movies is nothing like the videogame character. For some reason I just feel that Anderson just felt it was some sort of necessary evil to have the characters from the original story in the movie. Just so it did´nt stray to far from the videogames, tsk tsk.

Maybe now you´re wondering why I still watch such mess of movies, perhaps I have like to suffer watching and at the same time thinking how RE movie franchise would have turned if Screen Gems didn´t reject George Romero´s script.

I mean; as far as I have heard his script reminded alot of the sotry in the first game, so he apparentely wanted to stay true to the games with the people like Chris and Jill as the main characters in the film.
But I guess, they just wanted some bad Lara Croft ripoff in the lead role, sigh..

@Nekhet Dont worry buddy! I´ve read the script and is by far ONE THOUSAND TIMES BETTER! Every character and monster from the videogame was present, just some changes like the addition of another female commando besides Jill and Rebecca, Barry was black and Gulf War veteran along with Wesker and also his friend, they found three researchers alive in the lab room, one of them is...Ada Wong (!!) and Chris wasn´t a STAAR, but an half blood Indian but still the main character of the movie.

Eventhough he made some changes to the characters and the story it´s changes I would have accepted.
As you said; as long it stays true to the core atmosphere and story, then the changes would´nt really matter that much. And IMO it sounds like Romeros script did just that. Besides I would rather want a Chris who is half blood Indian than Roidfield:S

I agree Ricardo, also Milla Jovovich is pretty ordinary looking really underneath all that makeup and she has no shape to her. I cant understand why people (mainly teen boys) get so fanatical about her, its a mystery. She isnt even a competent actress either and was not suited to the Resident Evil films at all, they could have been good films but just arent, such a pity we deserved better than what we got.

Wow! You are the first guy I ever heard that from. I think Milla should stick to doing what she does best and that was modeling. Resident Evil doesn't cut out for her. They did have George Romero do the script for Resident Evil, but they thought he was being too close to the game or some reason-he got booted off. So they picked Paul Anderson instead.

Pretty much everything on my mind. By 3 it was pretty good sci-fi, but still shitty for the Resident Evil franchise, because it already had it's own great story(although 4 and 5 are pretty much doing the same thing) when I have this argument with people I use the Final Fantasy movie as an example, too :P.
I got here from a comp video from Nemesis, and just those CG scenes alone, I thought that's how good zombie/monster scenes are done.

These films are just about Milla Jovovich, but she isnt a good enough actress to make it work, she is hopeless really, her relationship with Paul W S Anderson has of course had a huge impact on how the series planned out. The games are so much better.

I can only be so angry, I don't like the gameplay direction of the new RE games either but they were still done well and are fun to play. (story and mostly characters are still annoying as shit)

I grow tired to people bitching and moaning about these movies. Do I need to say this any more times, if they based it completely off of one of the games, you'd know exactly what would happen, then you'd be whining and complaining about them even more. I like both the movies and games.

@Killerladies1 You are way wrong. In order to follow a story, the plot doesn't have to be chronological but it at least has to apply to the main characters and/or any plot twists. Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Chris and Jill Valentine are the main protagonists in the series, NOT ALICE! And none of the events follow. They throw some RE terminology in there, some characters, and some creatures. Yeah, they throw in the T-Virus but nothing is as follows. Piss poor movies. Great games.

I didnt like the movies, theres no point to call it Resident Evil. Sure it has zombies and odd creatures and monsters and Umbrella Corperation in the movie, but the main characters arent in it. Theres no Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Brad Vickers, or Sheva Alomar. Instead we get a women named Alice? Its nothing compared to the games, story or characters. It would'v been fair if it was called sumthin else, other than Resident Evil. Its nothing like it at all.

They just mashed up everything from the storyline. It's like the writer just watched a bunch of cut scenes from the game and made up their own unconnected story that is WAY crappier then the story in the game. The first movie almost have the early RE game "feel" in the beginning of that movie but then became something else/action cop movie. It's supposed to be about survival horror, not action explosion movie. They RUINED it and since, the NEW games have started to reflect the movies.

At first ithought that jovovich characther is made after birkin's wife, Annete, but then it didn' made any sence at all... in that movie virus was made by a crazy wheelchaired moron who wanted his daughter to walk again, yeah very touching, an only then umbrella got it's hands on it, and Alice is just way too powerfull: burning crows, making ppl eyebleed AND dealing with nemesis with bare hands that a BS and nothin but BS, movie was made for wider audience. I hate to say it but the Resident evil movies were basically suppose to put all they're characters into reality. The movie was to be more realistic but it suffered with insuffiecnt creatures and the specialized zombies. And the Ground-zero of the second one did horrible, need improvement. And dont blame the final fantasy movies, Of course the the first movie had a different story line but at least the action and the bond w/ each character made the movie a good movie.

They should haave keept it as a side story. The first one was ok. But the rest...NO WAY. They ruind the hole thing. How menny stars memebers survived the mansion. Four members. Barry, Jill, Chris and rebecca ( but she left ) Barry lives out side the town, Chris went to Paris where Umbrella main HQ is. Jill was the only one in town at the moment when the outbreak started. So I agree with you.
For all of you Hollywood neards who loved the movie, play the game and you will see for your self.
