  • Whoa wait do level 9s like evolve over time?

  • @whatdouthink96 Yes, weather you play the character often yourself, or face lots of online players, etc, The level 9 CPU will evolve.

  • @StoneMonkWisdom So THAT'S why that lvl 9 kept getting harder to beat!

  • iam the best ike user in new jersey dont beleive me give me you friend code and we will find out

  • not badd mann. you should get at me you look fun to fight. add my friend code on my channel then send me a message or somethin lol you look like a good challenge

  • Ahh yes, Ike vs Link, though tI normaly do it the otehr way because Link in better >.> but yea, I got to say that my CPU is somewhere in the teens when I fight it, its still easy, but DANG IT!!! I liked it better when I could own it 3 to 0 >.> (going on a 5 stock battle)

  • Why wen i see everybody else pkaying lvl 9s they dont struggle.am im the only one who has problems?

  • @angrybird378 Maybe, but my level 9's have evolved a bit. If I were to fight them again, they might stand a better chance against me now. However, I'm still confidant in my skills to defeat even my current level 9's unless I get outnumbered by them. like 1v2 or more likely 1v3 teams.

*shrugs* Maybe you do have problems assuming those Nasty level 9's continue to make "odd decisions" or movements that give openings for attacks. hmm..

  • I started a new file but they still annoy me

  • @angrybird378 Hopefully you kept a backup or your original save files. Also... If there is no change or something. Your stuck with them and simply have to deal with them, adapt like animals in the Desert climate or use level 8's whatever you wish to do. Or sell your game on eBay for some money and stop playing SSBB entirely XP. That's a joke by the way because that would be overreacting. So I guess, just try to adapt to them as best you can, don't use level 9's or something else.

  • Wen i fight lvl 9s they just shield and dodge over and over

  • @angrybird378 THat's because your Level 9's are trained from online or even offline combat. THe more you play online, the more dangerous your Level 9's become. This level 9 has no experience or roughly no player experience so he isn't that tough.

  • @StoneMonkWisdom so how do i change them back to normal?

  • @angrybird378 By erasing you save data for Smash Brothers Brawl, but you'll have to unlock them all again, etc etc. There is no turning back... Basically, either get used to the level 9's as they "evolve" or drop the A.I. level to 8 when playing. That's my suggestion.

  • @StoneMonkWisdom .........im never playing oline

  • @StoneMonkWisdom isnt their another way?like deleting online status?

  • @angrybird378 I don't know... maybe but... I'm the kind of person that would want to face an evolved level 9, as if it's a challenge. Overcoming challenges is my way of gaming but anyway... hmm... I'm not knowledgable enough on this subject to help further. Perhaps someone else might know more about the level 9 A.I. and returning it to normal.

  • Wait...so the more battles you take part in, the more trained level 9's get on your disc? So different discs will have different experienced level 9's?

  • @kaizoisevil Data is not saved on the disc, data is saved on the "harddrive" or whatever inside the Wii. However, with every battle online, data is saved in your Smash brothers Brawl files or updated shall we say to make the level 9's better.

  • @StoneMonkWisdom wait...so it is like the memory card system on the gamecube? You don't have anything saved to the disc itself? So in other words, if you take your disc to another wii, you might not have the same stuff unlocked?

  • @kaizoisevil You have the right idea. If you want your own wii games, or save data and want to transfer it to another Nintendo Wii, I think you need an SD card to copy the files onto it and then take the SD card with you to a friends place.

  • Jesus O_O Whenever I fight a lvl 9 they perfect shield around half of my attacks. This link didnt tech or shield any of your attacks! How do people fight lvl 9s so easily?

  • @knuckles3856 This level 9 isn't trained from a bunch of online battles (least not until a bit later after this video was made.

  • @knuckles3856 I know EXACTLY what you mean. They cheat.... a lot!

  • @knuckles3856 level 9s are not very smart. That is why i beat level 9s but lose against opponents in a brawl tournament in my 2nd anime convention.

  • Can I ask You 2 questions?

    1) Is that song Hacked INTO the game or did you add it using a program?

    2) Do you use a capture card to record brawl fights?

  • 1) I went into the settings of Brawl and turned off the music but left in the Sound Effects. Then when editing the video on my PC, I add the mp3 music of choice to the timeline.

    2) I don't use a capture card, I use a video camcorder to record my console games.

  • Is A video Camcorder A camera or something like that?

  • A video camcorder shoots continuous video usually a minimum or 30 frames per second. This means taking a minimum of 30 pictures a second that seems like motion to the human eye.

I play the replay on Brawl, and setup my camcorder in a 'specific' way to record as the game plays. The video now saved to the camcorders harddrive can now be transfered to the PC. I edit / produce the video compressing it and then upload to youtube.

  • but do you have it in a specific place where it can't move/shake? Because It looks so perfect like a capture card and the quality is great. I record my brawl videos with a camera but its quality sucks, thats why im looking for help.

  • I don't point it at the screen, I hook it up through a "medium." I take the audio video cam cable and stick it into my VCR's Output to my camcorder. The video game console Audio/Video cable gets plugged into the Input of the VCR, and between the TV and VCR I run the ant. cable.

On my profile, I very briefly mention my 'Method of Recording'

  • personally my better characters would be meta knight, falco, lucas, lucario, and jigglypuff (of course sonic doesnt count sense hes fairly cheap... then again thats still debatable :l)

  • i was able to beat 2 lvl 9 cpu as ike, it was snake and marth... it was sweet.. sorry i dont know how to upload from my wii

  • The replay isn't a video, it simply reenacts the battle by remembering the button and movements. In order to record and make a video, you need any of the following:

Low - Bad quality = webcam or video camcorder viewing the tv screen.

Better quality = Using a capture card or the Dazzle to record gameplay into a video format. Google 'The Dazzle' on youtube and watch some videos.

  • ty stonemonk, might try to upload then

  • You are a pretty good Fighter but i don´t like your way of fighting with Ike ( as he is one of my mains i watch alot of people using difrent ways of fighting with him)

    But good job!

But i wonder why you don´t use Ike´s dodge move!

  • Only had the game a day, I stated this in the description.

  • I personally use level 9 cpu's as my practice dummies ._.

I'm not sure how much the lowered damage ratio affected the match; but you're pretty good and obviously played a lot of SSBM so you know you're way around the CPU's. (yes, they have a distinctive move pattern if you watch them closely)

I've always prefered Marth over Ike, but you did a good job; though God knows you may have just been having a lucky day ._.

  • Agreed, Level 9 CPU's are for practice.

I'm highly experienced in 0.5 damage ratio fighting in Melee and learned how to play "dragonball" melee against a tougher opponent. Three battles, 3 lives per fight. Though I lost all three of those battles each successive battle my gameplay evolved tremendously and the third battle was really close, I almost took him down that time.

I like Marth as well, but skill is skill, and a fluke is a fluke. Perhaps I'm only lucky and unskilled rubbish.

  • good playing. I think you just need some more practise to get better timing and such. but it's way better if you practise with real players

  • Doh, posted my comment without finishing lol..

I was saying that I've seen some Ikes edge guard with neutral B near and taking advantage of it's super armor frames.

Fsmash works pretty well at keeping those buggers off the edge too, but lacks the super armor.

You seem to pretty much know what you're doing, but if you would like expert advice I recommend browsing the smashboards forums.

If you want my brawl code just drop me a message.

  • I work best with experimentation and experience, but thanks for the advice all the same ^.^

I was thinking Ike rhymed with tyke. I know about Ike's Meteor Smash, just at this point with this first uploaded match I was experimenting with level 9 opponents. I edgeguard more now and like to volley my enemies into the abyss below.

I have a couple other videos of Brawl if your interested.

  • I see, match 02 went quite fast with those Down airs. Nice stuff! :]

  • Pretty good for being new to brawl. I know its cheap but, Ike rhymes with spike. Down air, down tilt and even the recovery can be used to send an opponent into the abyss. Still, your Ike is quite solid, keep using those air attacks and jabs.

Some Ike's like to edge guard by charging neutral B

  • look for a lvl ,.9 link get beat in 3 sec by some dude

  • Good job. ^^

You only took 45% damage against a level 9. Wow... impressive.

  • Next up will be two level 9 enemies when I'm ready to try that. Of course I'll randomly use different characters.

  • You are really god on this i would never defeat a cpu on level 9 that fast

  • Yes, you don't edge hog! That's awesome! Nice match.

  • nice. did you own SSBM first?

  • I owned Super Smash Bros (N64) first, but later traded in, and then I played Melee for awhile, and finally upgraded to Wii! I also plan on eventually getting a PS3 but that's a bit far off for me. Maybe the same for Xbox 360, it depends.

  • Never thought I'd see the day Ike's Fsmash didn't kill at 175%.

Also, why did you share this vid with me?

  • I figured why not, if you have Brawl videos yourself, then that's your answer.

  • Ah, that's cool then. I thought you might know me or something =S

  • Me, knowing people, that's absurd! xD (LOL)

  • The Link A.I isn't that great in Brawl but try on Yoshi/Kirby. Those guys (especially Yoshi) are great for training.

Your skills are good but you're a Melee player so that's no surprise XD

Online isn't that great. The lag will hamper anyone's skills there. You're better of playing offline against people.....

  • Hehe you're lucky the ratings are disabled.

  • Dude, the pc is Easy, but for the first day, you did a great job.

  • It's true that Melee level 9's were a bit more fierce then this A.I. but that's why you gotta face more then one, not just in a free for all but having them on a team against you, the Kirby Wario event on hard mode freaking was difficult because of the 3 Wario enemies fighting you while you try to collect those item parts

  • No, the pcs are equal than melee´s, the only way than the pc is very hard is against three O_o

  • PC is often referred to as (Player Character which means you playing the game, or it means Personal Computer, I like to think as the enemy as Either a CPU, A.I., or bot, also NPC would work too (Non-Player Character))

I intend to not use the Link in follow-up CPU matches since his A.i. is weak in comparison to some other characters I've noticed.

So Next I will attempt to defeat two CPU level 9 enemies.

  • awesome

ur definiteyl better than me with Ike on one on one matches n if ur as good as this in a 4 way battle then ur definitely better than me lol

  • this is a great game but i wish roy made it instead of marth

  • Ike was the replacement for Roy as it seems, Roy was pretty badass back in melee but virtually a close of marth, so this way feels like it's balanced a bit more. Marth has quick fluent movements while Ike is generally slow but strong. It's nice to have a choice in the swordsmen you like to use.

    N64: Super Smash Bros.

    GCN: Super Smash Bros. Melee

    Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Looks like the next one may come for the next gen console several years in the future, possibly.

  • Pretty good, this beats my wolf v ganon video. My friend could learn a lot from you

  • ^.^

  • Good job also...you should try edge hogging though...will save you a lot of time...or spike... But still, good job for only having it a day =D

  • Thanks, I appreciate the support and as for edge guarding, that conflicts with my 'code of honor' However I will be working on that at any rate so when I finally jump online, I'll be a worthy opponent.

  • So you don't play online yet? Well when you decide to go online add me, you seem like a good challenger. my friend code is on my profile if you want to add me.

  • OK, I'll be sure to challenge you in the near future, Right now I'm playing through the adventure mode on easy, then shall do it on normal, hard, very hard, and finally intense mode. Then I'll do all the events on all difficultties and then concentrate toward online play. ^.^

  • trust me on this, you don't want to do sse on Intense mode, it is pure frustration even for me, only time I beat the events on Intense was when I unlocked everyone and just re-did every stage on one file. but Good Luck and ok.

  • Same here im ready to Brawl ya online anytime!

  • I'll be keeping this in mind 7elementzGuardians, I copied your brawl friend code into a notepad file so I wouldn't lose it.

  • nice job, although it could have been a much faster match if u would have just spiked him ;)

  • I decided to use my 'code of honor' My code of honer includes the following Oath:

    - If a character accidentally falls off the stage and has only one life left afterwards, and I have 2 or more, I would be 'honorable and jump off to balance things out and give them a fair chance.

    - Variations of this Oath may include not taking life so readily, but rather toying with them in more combos and attacks.

    - If they are tougher or equals however, I'd do everything I could to win!

  • Strange...the SSBB's hardest characters don't seem to be much of a challenge. In my opinion, SSBM's lvl 9 characters are harder (i would know since I always get beaten by them). lol

  • I must agree with you that the Melee A.I. was more fierce then this level 9 A.I. The only problem is that because they act very different, learning the new movements will help achieve victory. xD

  • awesome job on that battle!

  • Thanks ^.^

  • so do you have a wii and a xbox? cause people who seem to just have a wii turn... well

  • I have, a SNES, PSone, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox, and Wii video game consoles at this time. I used to have an N64 with lot's of really great games but years ago I traded them in which sometime later I felt was a huge mistake as I would have replayed them and made videos of such as Playing Conker in Diddy Kong Racing. My favorite console is my PS2 actually.

  • :O so you dont have any this generation consoles? dont say wii is caise ive seen similar graphics on a PS2

  • Well, Wii is of the current gen consoles, ever heard of the console wars? The only current next gen console is Wii and graphics don't matter when comparing video game systems, seriously, it's about the gameplay, and Story with the right game. I foudn the articles of relevant info over at wikipedia.

  • Good job ^_^, and your saying you got the game yesterday, you're pretty awesome already xD

  • Thanks, I got my Wii a couple days ago and the game at the same time so I had been playing it a lot.

  • This was pretty awesome. Nice job ^.^

Also, did you know you could charge Ike's B Move?

  • Thanks ^.^

I know I can Charge Ike's B move but that takes time to charge and isn't a good idea when your facing off against tougher opponents. Level 9 CPU or a player themselves. However I like it's wide area of effect and use for instant results ^.^

  • I actually noticed that many times you used a forwards smash when a forwards tilt would have sufficed. I don't know if you are aware of the range and power of it, but it is a much quicker alternative.
