wait when did north america and south america become one continent. when i was in school there were 7 continents: asia, europe, africa, australia, antartica, north america and south america. and we call ourselves americans because frankly we are the ones who use it in the name of our country. its really more the fact that we are a bunch of states that are united together in north america. maybe we should all just become one huge country and have the largest gdp out of the entire world
