@Tesseractproject I suggest you do a good thorough test of the PODHD line before jumping in. If you're still using your normal setup, and just going to use the POD for cabless cleans, then it should work out smashing. I had an HD500 for about 2 weeks and rage quit it. DSP limitations after minimal chain. Dual Amps, Gate, Verb and it craps out. Went back to using my X3. The rack unit is EXACTLY the same guts/DSP as their floor units.

Ya, depends what you're looking at I guess. The POD HD500 is pretty good, although, in my opinion the clean tone suffers quite a bit. I'm not running it through a tube amp or a half-stack so that could also be part of the problem and if you set it up when going through headphones or amp they sound different, which is quite common. I'm sure I'd get a good clean tone using a good amp but not through the HD500. I'm sure their racks are better though...
