  • I shit my pants while watching this. true story yo.

  • i really like the movie cause my grandparents are acting there. and where the movie was made the landscape was very beautiful.

  • jeez this film relaxes the hell out of me in a good way

  • Lies lies lies Yea!

  • The only part of that I could understand is "lobo vale $350".

How sad that that's humans' view of what life is worth, especially wolves.

    H.O.W.L. Help Our Wolves Live

I love the book and the movie!

  • @TheBlueRainWolf I think you should join S.M.D (Suck My Dick)

  • It is sad and heartbreaking to look at this vast expanse and compare it to where most of our species lives, in big crowded cities, towns and enclaves. But they are often not as free as Farley was here.

  • @nissani1 freer than that shithole you live in and your ass life.

  • 2:09 - such a beautiful shot.

  • @thx291 not as beautiful as my asshole.

  • Estupenda! I saw this movie as a child, but it gained a poignant richness for me 20 years later. The arctic, in it's cold and beauty stands above us, a place of refuge.....

  • Sacred stuff here...This movie changed my life.

  • sacred my favorite movie

  • Its Alaska not Canada

  • Actually, I am pretty sure that while production may have been based out of Skagway, AK a majority of the filming was done near Atlin, B.C. Really all the same land though, political boundries meen nothing in the relm of this film.

  • Haha, ok. But it was like..an awesome film!

  • Pretty sure it was Alaska. The man the story is based on is from Canada.

  • The book makes a little more sense in terms of story. The narrator is sent north by the Canadian government to see if wolves are killing off the Caribou, which they've already decided is the case. That's why he arrives with so little in terms of supplies. This was back when people thought wolves were extremely dangerous. This story is partially true and partially fiction. I just think the narrative in the book makes more sense.

  • The book is placed in Keewatin, which is either in Nunvut or the Northwest Territories. It's one or the other.

  • great movie

  • that's a very nice exellent film!

sad, that c. m. smith is rar to see him in films!

    brian dennehy too!

    (sfmbe!)

  • I'd like to find this movie on DVD I have alwats liked it.

  • This movie came out in 1982. This movie really captures the spirit vibrations of the animals. Just pure spirit. Dream world. This movie also captures the timeless expansive gentle Spirit of the North of Canada. Love it.

  • is there a soundtrack of this movie?

    love the music

  • ~*Wolves arent the reason for the decline in the caribou population...it is nature. Some years you get plenty of caribou while some years you do not. This is common amoungst all animal populations.*~

    ~*Skeemo*~

  • @Okpakok Are you sure about thtat?

  • I downloaded it off of the itunes store (not the only place to get it) for $10, and as a bonus somehow, you get 2 of Isham's other works--"The Times of Harvey Milk" and "Mrs Soffel".

In total it's about 50 minutes of his music. Worth every penny.

  • can you tell me how can i find this movie in the internet? download from where?

  • You can find Never Cry Wolf at Best Buy and Borders on DVD. or ordr it from Amazon. It's a fantatstic under-rated movie. One of my favorites.

  • I used to rent this movie on video and watch it over and over again. It was my favorite film of all time and I have not seen it in almost 20 years. Thanks so much for the upload.

  • The movie is beautiful. Although Farley Mowat's stories, the film's inspiration, are the subject of debate.

At minimal the film can be rented on Netflix and the Isham's score, 25 min, can be downloaded.

  • This movie came out a long time ago.

  • I love this book!! i wish i understood eskimo language

  • Super natural. Ootek lives in both worlds - that of man and that of the animals. Mike is the link between the white man and Ootek - he is the oracle to the world of Ootek. Mike lives half in the world of the white man and half in the world of the Tribe. Deep down the main charachter is the next Ootek but he can not see this. The wolves represent nature - they are slowly killed off by the arrival of more whites.

  • It's out on DVD now! Just got through Amazon last week. Enjoy!

  • One of my favorite movies too - one of the best ever made IMHO and certainly one of the best of the outdoor adventure/ecological genre. I can't beleive this hasn't been released on DVD yet. What a loss.

  • One of my favorite movies. Not enough explosions and bright, shiny things to make it big I guess.

  • Great film.

  • A sad, depressing, brilliant film.

  • Just 5 or 6 more years and build a log cabin house on my beautiful foothill 30arces(in an undisclosed location)get a couple of good dogs and done with the city!

  • And Internet?, Gmail?, Yahoo?, Amazon?, Youtube? :-)

  • I'm probably older than you and did well without it before it was invented. smile

  • Excellent book. Excellent film. It's been trashed so badly because Mowat suggests that wolves eat a lot of mice, when caribou aren't around. Wow. People want to shoot wolves all over again. Can't we just let them have a few areas where they aren't going to be exterminated as vermin?

  • it is out on dvd, but it is so hard to find... not exactly a money maker, but one of the best films i have ever seen! pure cinema. post some more? maybe with some louder sound?

  • Sorry this clip is from VHS copy from original was in BETA

  • I love this movie too :)

But I guess Disney won't make a dvd out of it cuz it showed that guy fully naked...

  • There is a DVD release.

  • I was waiting for this one to be uploaded too. I can't explain what this movie means (to me). nothing short of brilliant. thanks

  • beatiful film , remerbers me my childhood

  • What! Oh, man! The clip ends just before the running caribou scene! WTF! Charles Smith is just glorious in it. He looks so beautiful then, when he's running with the herd wearing only his boots. It is the exulting climax of the movie, too.

  • Finally someone uploads a clip from this overlooked film.
