Oliver Smith is one of those rare producers who actually uses his music theory to great effect.
The fact that it's titled Cadence, shows what pure aptitude he has. Although the track uses a simple and common progression, it flows beautifully!
Sometimes I get sick to death of uplifting producers using the EXACT same rhythmatic structure on the chord sequences. Only this they change is the chords being played and maybe the sound.
@giranmoo2 Are you serious? It's the exact same sequence used in EVERY uplifting track released from Anjunabeats . Along with the exact same moving back and forth from the 5th chord proggression which absolutely destroyed the uplifting genre. Search for "similarity in plucked melodies" and watch the vid.
Absolutely superb, can't wait to here it for real. His other new track 'pacific' is also stunning. He takes me back to the early 2000's, the times of Oceanlab's Clear Blue Water and Solarstone's great releases. Keep bringing it on!
I don't understand why people are calling this track lackluster; sometimes, as this track shows you, simplicity is pure genius. Can't wait 'till Vol. 7 XD
Oh yes. This is super! I love Ollie's style, preferably as Progressive. He really knows how to make something soothing in the genre. "Tomahawk" was massive, his remix of "Meet Me In Montauk" was sensational, and this is just heavenly. :D
the most underrated trance producer... always delivering the greatest uplifting tracks! His collaberation with mark pledger was superb, and has been releasing quality stuff ever since. You're not forgotten Oliver Smith, keep going and let's hope for a breakthrough!

Nice relaxing tune but has an uncanny resemblance to the melody at the start of Fabio XB & Ronnie Play - inside of you (CG remix)
