  • Is that a 10top ? so wonderful

  • @foreverjimmy If it isn't it's very damn close. Every 10 top PRS I've seen has a little "10" written on back of the headstock whereas this one doesn't.

Although it is an Artist Pack guitar which PRS said consists of their "highest grade wood" for a production guitar.

So in short I really don't know but it does look nice! :P

  • What did you pay for that guitar? I have an opportunity to buy one similar. Also what's your opinion of the guitar? What model is it and from what year? . . . thx.

  • @joelg125 A bit late to reply but I hope you bought it. I love this guitar, it's my yard stick to compare all others.

  • My personal opinion is that PRS's are over-rated. They are too light, now if they had a Les Paul-ish weight to them, I might think of looking into one.

Now onto the playing, good tone, you seem to know your phrasing, good job buddy. Keep it up!

  • @iamjimmy86 Thanks man, I'm actually relearning the song to re-record it. Wasn't happy with some of the backing track and wanted to tighten up a bit of my playing.

Why the PRS weight hate? Have to admit I picked up a 5kg Les Paul the other day and it did sustain forever.

  • @fuddledarcher Your welcome bud, I'm forever never satisfied with my playing. There's always room for improvement I find.

It's just a personal preference I find. Everytime I have sat down with a PRS I find the same issue, just don't get the sustain from the light guitar body. Same as my '89 Charvel super-strat, but that's cuz of the wood it was built with.

So all-in-all, just boils down to personal preference. Ya dig?

  • @iamjimmy86 Oh yeah, I dig. I completely agree, I've never found sustain to be one of the strong points of a stock PRS. Actually I ended up putting different pups in this one to help flesh out more of the sound I heard in my head.

  • Best cover I've heard of this song!

  • @ibanezman007 Thanks man, pretty big compliment considering there's some great covers of it out there.

  • @fuddledarcher Well based on your overall ability, attention to detail, and spot on satch tone, this is a damn good cover!

  • i bought a prs 20th anniversary tobacco burst i play all originals light to nu-metal,i love it

  • @frankiegranados1999 awesome man, was it a Cu24? I'd really love to get my hands on a tobacco burst single cut 20th, Just after that G****N vibe without succumbing to the brand.

  • hi dude, i'm about to buy a prs custom 24...but i was not sure about a thing: can i set the action very low? i play prog metal (opeth, dream theater..), so i need a fast fingerboard :)

  • Mikael Akerfeldt actually uses PRS (cool way to get his tone is get a PRS and a Laney) As for action, its very possible to set the action really low, I've got mine to just above buzzing and it's comparable to a lot of fast Ibanez guitars. Lowering the action can be a bit tricky as it's very easy to destroy the screws that act as the fulcrum point if your not careful but it's possible to do yourself as I set mine up myself and to be honest I find it hard to shred on guitars that aren't PRS.

  • @fuddledarcher u've been clear :) i'll buy one! i love your colorm blue matteo..i think i will buy that one.

  • @fuddledarcher i've bought it :) blue matteo, just like yours, but mine is a 20th anniversary model. you were right, they're perfect! prs rules! ;)

  • @vaffanculo8555 awesome man, I love the birds on the 20th anniversary modals.

I know it'll make me look like a fan-boy/poser but I really want to get them as a tattoo down my right arm.

  • ooo you guitar is perfect, i love PRS

  • @FabioDGS yeah I'm in love with it, it's my barometer for comparing all other guitars, many have fallen very short. it's that special item my wife knows she can't make me part with.

  • bitchin tone, but it seems theres no bass in it.

  • blue matteo is a beautiful finish

  • do you have the wide thin or regular neck carve?

  • watch out for the vibratos you do on the notes, small detail but goes a long way on your sound. I've bought a PRS myself custom 24 wide thin neck, 8 months waiting for the guitar in this country, jeez...

  • Fanatstic, well done!!!

  • Put the toys away and play your guitar, bro.

    Sweet guitar and playing though!

  • @buckster7777 hahaha, thanks man. It was one of those awkward ADHD moments where I almost forgot what I was supposed to be doing.

  • very nice man!! i especially like your inflections and the little bit of improvisations you put in there. im working on this song myself, almost got it down.

  • @socco445 awesome man, you should post it on the tube.

  • i prefer the original song x:

  • @bestaporramachado so do I!

  • sweet man , really nice style to it

  • well done sir, i applaud you. and nice roadster in the back. i just ordered one of those today

  • very original backing track, loved it! good feel to your playing..

  • simply fantastic!!

    well done

  • This makes me want to practice.

  • me too, me too.

  • yea i wan the tabs :D

  • with or wothout tabs?

if without i say u;re good

  • without, (a lot of it's improv) I'm transcribing this version soon, if anyone's keen for a copy.

  • great impro, im learning this atm. I love this song

  • Thanks man.

  • awesome man! :)

    LOVE your guitar!

and really good cover too :D

what finish is it btw? :)

  • Thanks!, The finish is Mateo Blue over Flame maple.

  • nice :D

it did'nt look as weird as the other Blue Matteo finish :)

well... they're too expensive for me anyway..

  • Cheers, It's Blue Mateo.

  • nice guitar bro.

  • have you changed the pickups on your c24 or you have the stock ones?

  • I have the stock P/Ups in this one. PRS HFS in the bridge and a PRS Vintage Bass in the Neck, running through a 5-Way rotary switch. I have another PRS Custom 24 with an EMG 85/81 combination. Considering both guitars share all the same woods and construction the EMG's make it sound radically different. (Still deciding if I like them though)

  • Great tones and playing man!

  • Cheers.

  • dude great playing you have a myspace?

I played on that thing last week at samash and it feels just as beautiful as it sounds

  • It's becoming more and more rare that guitar builders meet the standards of sound, playability and looks that a player needs from a single instrument. But in my opinion PRS doesn't just reach these standards, they set the bar.

  • LOOOOOL! You look like JIm Carrey!!~~

    Nice playing...xD

  • That's probably the 3rd time someone has said that, although I also sometimes get Chief from Battlestar Galactica or Dexter.

(yet I don't really think any of them look anything alike)

  • unique backing track. Nice job. 5 stars.

  • Thanks, I wanted to go with something that sounded a little more unique. Just something i thought would separate it from the amazing original version but keep its dynamics and feel.

  • what gauge strings u use and what pickups are in the guitar?

  • I think I was using D'Addario 10-46, but am now using Elixir 9-42. I feel that the resign on Elixir strings makes them smoother to play on, but also seems to make them feel tighter too. Probably have a higher tension strength than the D'Addario's.

  • That was bad ass! I know playing with a backing track isn't the same as other people and I would like to see what you could really do with a band behind you! I bet it would be alot better and its already great!

  • Thanks heaps. I prefer playing with real people. Nothing beats the massive vibe you can get from playing with awesome musicians.

  • Excellent Job!

  • Cheers!

  • I am buying that guitar

  • I HIGHLY recommend it!

  • freakin' awesome =]

    and my dream guitar XD

  • I remember always wanting a PRS and Mesa/Boogie Amp when I was younger, and kept thinking it would never happen. Now do I not only have a Mesa, but 2 PRS Custom 24's! Keep Believing.

  • great job dude ! I like your personnal touch to it. Keep on rockin' !!!!!

  • Thanks heaps!! :)

  • this is good, but your g's a bit flat.

  • I didnt really like the way you changed parts of but otherwise good playing

  • I loved it Matt! Now please join my band ;)

  • Dude that was amazing I tried learning that whole song and I failed. Good playing man.

    Jacob

  • You are a sexy man and next time you upload a video you should take your shirt off, cover yourself with baby oil and THEN play the song.

  • I knew something was missing from my performance.

  • good cover man, just a tip that would make you sound alot better is don't cut off the long notes so early, really hold them full value, it will make the whole thing sound smoother. good job tho.

  • Funny that you mention the cut off notes. Cause since i've posted the vid it's bugged me that I didn't sustain them longer. especially in the modulated section of the song.

    Cheers.

  • Matt, You are playing my favourite theme from Joe Sat. and doing great!

    Slim. Aka you know who.

  • Most of the time (depending on the effect) I switch one after the other. e.g. Channel 3 and than the pedal.

I do have effects that I keep in my FX loop (Delays, Phasers, etc) and on certain channels i have the FX LOOP switches on the back set to ON. E.g. Channels 1 & 3 I will have it switched off while channels 2 & 4 it will be permanently kept on.

    Hope this helps.

  • Could you say me

    (sorry for my english)

I have a Prs standard 24 and a Mesa Roadster. my effect is a Boss GT 10... How are you doing to change effects and channels toegether? Do you switch in 2 times or have you an other solution?

  • I hope to play like this... good
