malik rose is one of my favorite players from the spurs due to his intensity and heart. i got the feeling watching him play, that he was a fan like us, getting a chance to play.

As a fellow Drexel Alum, I watched Malik dominate opponents for four years as a Dragon. I became an instant Spurs fan the day Charlotte traded him. NY needs to let him go so he can retire as a Spur.

Malik gave his heart,soul,and ass to this team.He was never the same player after he was traded.I remember his 34 point game.His number should be retired because of all the times he bailed out the Spurs with his hustle,defense,scoring,i wish his game followed him to New York.Nazr and Rasho never had the kind of game or the staying power of little Malik.The least the Spurs can do is retire his number for all the great things he did for this town and for that trade that ruined his career.

Man, it's been years and it's still hard to watch this. I mean, I'm not even a very emotional guy and I still tear up when I see the way Rose left the Alamo City. He was definitely one of the coolest Spurs of all time! I think the 2 Spurs players that didn't finish their careers in SA that I respect the most are Rose and Avery Johnson. Hope he comes back to SAtown when he retires!

I met Malik at the Wal-Mart on De Zavala Rd. He walked in and people were just staring at him. I walked up to him and he shook my hand. Before he left he called me out to make sure he told me to take it easy. I have met a lot of sports stars and they were complete assholes. This is a nice guy.

I was sad to see him leave like that. He was a very cool person. I took a basketball off the rack at wal-Mart and he signed it for me when he was shopping at like midnight haha. He was saying hi and shaking hands with everyone. He might not have been the most coordinated or had the best ball handling skills, but man when it was Spurs/Lakers he played Shaq beautifullly.
