So on max you're getting ~30 FPS without FRAPs on that setup? Sounds pretty good. I have the same setup but I'm using a e5200 OC'd to 3.3GHz on stock instead so it's a bit better. I didn't get into the beta unfortunately :(
Hell yeah preordered and getting it on first day release. I actually got a key at the last mi nute to test my system and it actually ran really well, 50-70+ FPS with everything max but shadows and AA, here's some shots:
what cpu you have? I also play with 9800gt, and my i7 greatly helps it out. I am able to put all settings to high (AAx1 dx9) and play at 1240x1080 or whatever with averagle of 50-60. (lowest i've seen was 28, but can get as high as 80+)
also, do you have a sound card? heavy sound in this game puts load on cpu, sound card could help relieve cpu load. peace
E5300 OC'd at 2.93ghz on stock cooling. I don't see how a sound card would make a difference because it would only take off like less than 200mghz (essentially nothing). I noticed the game runs well on quad cores, not limiting it to good performance to only the i7 but the i5, and Core2Quad series. (i3's are just dual cores w/ HT).
How did you get it to run in DX9

@Edge0fPain My documents > BFBC2 > settings. Change DxVersion=auto to DxVersion=9. Done.
