  • Haha, why not just stick your finger in the hole to block the bullet. Step one... always make safe the body before any movement.

  • great!!!!!

  • BET IT WONT WORK ON A BIGGER GUY

  • -------------

    INSTEAD of fourth post

    ------------

+2. Exert pull+torsion in the hand at an angle resulting of the grabslap applied on the gun, thus forcing a single shot at a controlled angle & securing the index finger inside trigger loopguard to ensure it breaks & nothing can oppose you from taking possesion of the gun. It's really hard to oppose disarm with a broken-disjointed finger. Other hand should help twist & hyperextend by securing forearm & pull.

  • 5. Removal & manipulation of the gun.

If the dude is a lazy ass just slap the gun out of his hand at a controlled angle (1kg+steel+enough kinetics in the right place/angle=does it) Better not take any chances & practice a lot, secure your life first.

All this written from memory, hope muscular reflex is just as sharp. Peace.

  • All this in one combined movement with priorities ranging:

    1. Get as far away from the killzone. (As a consequence & consecuence of the handslap, and your own movement away from the killzone (step into shadow) + twist & hyperextension.

    2. Secure absolute manipulation on the movement and aiming of the killzone.

    3. Prevent and/or control detonation.

    4. Secure & control offender through fingerbreak, hand break, elbow break, anything-break/gouge/hit/whatever.

  • THEORY:

    1. Secure the gun from the top applying your thumb and as much of the meat of the hand as you can over the trigger finger and try to lock the hammer with any of your other fingers gripping the back of the gun, that way you may burn your hand but not get a second shot (sometimes it prevents the first shot*thus no hand burn*).

  • The correct technique is a combined movement that begins the milisecond you know you are in range, the milisecond you know you are in the killzone by; gyrating, stepping out of the killzone, and forcing the aim of the killzone further away by MANIPULATING the hand (person), using as a weight, axis & support the gun in it. I'll try to detail on the following comments...

  • Guns have only one killzone and that's right in front of the barrel. Having stated this if someone points a gun at you; from that moment, until you leave the killzone or until the killzone points somewhere else: You are endangering your life by staying in the killzone even for a fractions of a second!

(much more to gesture surrender and act calmly *The dude pointing the gun at you KNOWS you ARE shitting your pants.* act cool & he'll be suspicious of your next move).

  • I think the Krav Maga way is a bit faster and easier to pull off.

  • in the real world... bang bang you are dead...

  • @davidwhittle79

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A DATE ONLINE? MY FRIENDS HAVE ALL TRIED IT AND HAD A REAL GOOD TIME

This is utterly fabulous. Did you get paid actual currency to do this? This definitely the best use of CG since the film "the Last Starfighter". I love the character design, it's really good to see prejudices put aside and see people with massive skeletal deformities used on TV .

Keep up the cracking retro style early 90's animation.

  • very poor technique performed by a cowboy

  • on the real live , only need 1 step = buy a gun

  • The proper technique is to get shot in the face. FAIL! Everyone here kills me.

  • the best thing to do is cooperate with the gun man

  • Are you stupid taking the gun in a upwards direction!!!!

If that was a man and not a tiny little girl he would have shot you, 3 times in the chest, 2 times in the head!!!! Wouldn't even be able to reach Chest!!!!

Plz before somebody is stupid enough to try this remove this video!!!!

  • @BeerPowCow What you dont seem to understand that what he explains there happens in a few miliseconds in reality. The shooter wont have time to pull the trigger.

  • @2LucasKane3 What you dont seem to understand is that from ur brain to pull the trigger you only need a "few" miliseconds in reality. And pull it from the chest over the head takes more than that...

  • you should not grab the barrel, there are better technikes for this. I study akibudo shinjitsu ( japanese jujitsu) and it's the best martial art I have seen for defense.

  • Todd, I will ask you again, please take this video down. This is not what I teach, nor did you train "With" us. I did allow you to come observe once and ever expected you to do this to me (please take the knife out of my back). What you are showing in this video will more than likely get somebody killed if they try it. We don't swipe at the gun from the side like that as the bad guy will yank back and you will miss. Peripheral vision will give you away and you will probably be shot.

  • Might be easier to push the attackers hand to the side by the wrist, and at the same time kick him in the balls!

  • Comment removed

  • @Dachaplain

The only problem pushing their wrist aside is that they still possess the firearm... It can be pointed back at you and all they have to do is pull the trigger. I have seen too may people "kicked in the balls" only to keep fighting. I have also done it myself to quite a few people as well as having it done to me too many times to count). Not everybody reacts the same and I would say over half would be able to shoot you at least once.

  • @Rambo00001

    Rambo00001:

Sorry, what i meant was the following:

If you are a true WT practicioneer or a true martial artist, than the kick to the balls and the handpush to the side by the wrist SIMULTANEOUSLY, gives you the split second you need to break his arm or get control over him.

  • Faux Sifu Todd Shawn Teich.. What an absolute Jackass.

  • P.S. She is sooo pretty ;p

  • That just great idea! WOW!!! ... by the way, ..aa what if someone have a real gun ? There is some better techniques, but anyway the real life is different... coz people in this video never had real situation. Good luck!

  • @24corrdi24

I have been shot @ I speak from experience I have been a cop for quite a few years and in addition to that time 2 other incidents in which people have tried to kill me. So I can say that I have used my martial arts in real situations. I would also say that the video we are posting on is not the correct way to do a gun disarm (and I will leave it at that)

  • wrong

  • as i see it is a very quick way of losing your fingers if the attacker fires the pistol.

  • Comment removed

  • @MultiJobu

I already explained this. You will not lose your fingers unless they are in front of the barrel when the round goes off. Holding the slide is no big deal, it sounds scary but it is not a problem. I had this discussion and the guy I was talking to CLAIMED that even though I had done it with both a .40 and a .45, he said that a 9mm would burn all the skin off my hand. I have since done it with a 9mm Glock 17 and a Baretta 92. I have all my skin and fingers. Thats 4 guns no issues

  • it should work if the guy's about a foot or 2 shorter than u...

  • you NEVER EVER grab the barrel of the gun.... omfg.. this guy sucks

  • @lindsyang then... what do you do? ... I think you suck

  • @ahiJabo if the gun is in the persons right hand, you use your left hand to grab the guys wrist while turning your body out of the way. if u grab the gun itself he can pull the trigger and the slide of the gun will fuck your hand up..

  • @ahiJabo there are many things u can do. but grabbing the gun is not one of the best...

  • @lindsyang

I know dozens of different ways to disarm somebody with a firearm. The one way that I will and have gambled my life on is by grabbing the barrel. You then both re-direct the muzzle and at the same time blade your body. Doing both things at the same time will double your chances of NOT being struck by a bullet should they pull the trigger. It is both a good and viable option that I do recommend.

  • @lindsyang

Why not? I have, and I recommend that you do... How else are you going to create leverage? You also need to know that it will cause the weapon to malfunction which means they can't shoot at you a second time without fixing it...

  • The moment he grabs the gun he still is in the line of fire

  • man , if someone attacks with a gun..... you just hope he wont use it.

If you have the courage ( or the stupidity ) to try a move.....

  • wtf!!! the gun bent. if it was a real gun, which is straight and hard, negro would have been dead.

  • @maliciousdoc

Yeah, straight and hard is good... Easily redirected via leverage.

  • Yea, but u gotta be REAL fast or else they will shoot u wen u grab the barrel

  • @Beastmast3r5254

Remember "Action is faster than Reaction". If they point a gun at you, they will probably feel as if they are in control, so when you make your move, they will be taken by surprise. Now, yes, you don't have long, thats why when you make your move, you must control and redirect the line of fire.

  • i now know how to defend myself against a 5 foot 2 100 pound asian girl. thanks expert village!

  • @heckald Now all you need to do is overcome your misogyny and racism.

  • Comment removed

  • @SamPabloKuper im asian too bud

  • what if they got a gun and are far away? run wouldnt help much :D

  • @xXFTGamerXx What if they had an Assault rifle or a sniper rifle =O

    matrix?

  • @podo42

If they are close, then it's easy.. If they are out of grasp, then you may want to try RUNNING.. I would say that running is your only option at that point.. (Other than following their directions and hoping that they don't pull the trigger).

  • @xXFTGamerXx if it was this guy, he would bend the air, and hence the gun will bend with his chi power - like in the video.

  • I agree with timmythealien....as a martial arts instructor I can say that there are better alternatives then grabbing the barrel. You are right....the gun will fire and you hand will be injured. Its usually best to just get out of the way first, control the arm and then unload all 16 shots that the weapon has onto the ground. Then from there cause as much damage as you possible can....personally, I'd pistol whip the fool his own gun afterwards :-)

  • @ELIASAIKIDO99

Not to say that your method is not right or that is is silly... Ok, lets break this down. Chances are you WILL NOT be injured holding the slide of an automatic pistol or the barrel of a revolver. I have tested this theory 4 times with different weapons. I received a blood blister on my palm once and some minor powder burns once. Other than that I was fine. Firing all the round, just be aware of your surroundings. Don'[t ricochet any bullets into anybody.

  • Respond to this video... Also, Use caution when "Pistol Whipping" somebody.

If the pistol is not empty, you can cause it to fire. Make sure it is pointed at them and not you when you strike them.

If you are going to strike them, use the muzzle as the impact point while holding the weapon in your fist (Think Hammer Fist). If you hit with the handle, you may be in the line of fire.

  • I don't understand why after having the gun in its hands in doesn't do the most logical thing: the weapon is in your hands man, SHOOT!

  • meh i like jiu jitsu gun disarms better :D not bjj but jiu jitsu

  • the best defence against guns? hand your shit over!!!

Don't try and be a hero, give them anything they want, your life is not worth risking for a wallet or a phone.

  • I'm sure She's seen His real "Gun"...

  • This technique would work great.......with a fake gun.

  • i'm agree!

  • once upon a time i used to be a woman called brenda with a big ginger perm

  • it´s a child! :D

  • This is very similar to the most watched video at Expert Village, Krav Maga´s tecnique self defense

  • That's because Todd stole it from Krav. This is a very poor imitation of what he saw when he was invited to observe (not train like he lies about here) the Burbank PD's D-Tac program. I guess he just put his signature on it, just like his signature on really bad Wing Chun.

  • Krav´s technique for control and attack was not very good either, a number of conditions should be necesary to work well, like aiming high in the face for example, or aiming too close to the victim, that never happens really, I´ve been mugged twice, never like this

  • They're all just tools for your fighting toolbox. Nothing in the real world ever happens the same "ideal phase" way it is trained in the controlled setting conditions of a dojo. Be safe.

  • I can't stop watching his videos... the girl is hot!

  • 0:43 lol.

  • :)))ya i noticed two

  • moron.. u dnt just grabd the barrel.. u grab the barrel and with ur other head u stricke the inside of their arm were the elbow join is forcing their arm down while u pull the gun up.. pull ur self close for extra force and make sure that its pointed slightly to a side incase she shoots it wont hit ur head

  • hows he gonna bring the gun "back to there chest" if the individual holding the gun is far stronger ? .... never mind the fact that if the person is going to use the gun you wont get this close.....

  • no ones wrist is stronger than your body weight

  • that is true , but that is not the way he did the movement ...

  • He says "if it's that far away and shoots, good luck"...

  • You should move your body away from the line of fire, as you do this, not just pulling it to his chest. If he fire you will be hit if you are not extreme fast with your hands.

  • I bet this is the closest he's ever come to a female.

  • Todd, yes I allowed you to come up and view our training once at the Burbank Police Department, however you never "Practiced with the Burbank Police Department" as you stated in this video.

I do not want anybody thinking that this technique is what we use or would condone as it violates some of our principals and safety protocals in training.

If you want to discuss this you can call me as you have my phone number.

  • ViolentCanvas, Dude, don't sit there behind the anonymity of your computer keyboard saying that I getting cocky and call me a brat. Now, I never tested holding a slide of a 9mm sorry, but I did do it with both a .40 (Glock Model 22) and a .45 (Colt Combat Commander).

  • @Rambo00001 lol!

  • Never grab the barrel of a gun, if they panic fire that will burn all the skin off the palm of your hand.

  • yeah because that's worse than getting shot.. :)

  • That actually depends on where you get shot, I'd rather take a bullet to the arm then burn off all the skin on my palms. Either way, theres ways to defend against a gun without grabbing the barrel, no burns, no shots.

  • ViolentCanvas, have you ever held the slide of a firearms when it fired? I have. I teach police officers and since I teach holding the slide, I did it and I did not "burn all the skin off the plam of my hand". I had a very minor blood blister on the knife edge side of may hand from the slide. I speak from experience, do you?

  • If you're shooting a little 9mm your chances of just some minor blistering is fun-but you have to imagine not all guns are fired at the same temperature, or speed, or power- so the results are going to vary. No need to get cocky about it you just sound like a brat now.

  • Having shot nearly every firearm possible from .22 Cal up to and including .50 AE, the only gun I fear grabbing would be the .50 Desert Eagle as that is just a BEAST. But if the choice was to grab the slide of the DE or be shot by the bullet between the running lights, I would take the chance of being injured on my weak hand while I get a Free Shot in the bad guys face. Sorry, not cocky nor bratty, just experienced and prepared.

  • Sorry, not cocky nor bratty, just experienced and prepared. Scroll down a few posts and you will see both my real name and where I work if you want to get hold of me. Just Google my name and you will find out quite a bit about me.

  • It's not grab the slider or be shot, there is a variety of ways certain self-defense applications can be applied. All of which do not result in grabbing the slide or being shot. Plus if you think police issue'd pistols are the best example of what people who are mugging you are going to use-That just speaks for itself. Do whatever you feel is right, I wouldn't choose this technique-Don't respond with trying to insult me for saying this behind a keyboard, we're all typing. Get over it.

  • Listen dude, you need to know a couple of things.... First is that I am NOT backing this technique as it is NOT what I teach. #2 Is that I was making a response to somebody who asked about grabbing the slide period. #3 I have been into martial arts probably longer than you have been alive and finally #4 I do this for a living, people have tried to kill me 3 times and I am still here. I am not picking a fight with you, I am just speaking from experience.

  • Thats fine, I decide not to attempt to share my life stories over the internet but I have been training since 8 years old, and because of the lifestyle I used to live my life was threatened on a daily basis-I am also still here. "I have been into martial arts probably longer than you have been alive." Do not get cocky with me it's pathetic. You try to pre-judge people over comments left on a YOUTUBE video and think you're going to come out sounding like less of a dumbass? Just stop it's annoying

  • You can call me Brent (the name is not Dumbass).. If I offended you by calling you young then I am sorry. I am tired of this conversation as it got way out of control. All I said is that I HAVE held the slide of a few pistols, and truthfully, I stand by my techniques, and will absolutely hold the slide on any firearm pointed at me. If you want to test your firearms, please let me know and I can set it up. Otherwise, I am don't debating as this has gotten silly. Take it easy.

    Brent

  • thast wring.. u are supposed to move to the sides when grabbing the gun!!!

  • Is he beating up a little girl

thats 4 feet tall what poses these

    Martial artists these days

  • it dont matter how quick he is , the guns gonna go off,and hes next years weeds, does anybody really believe this video, tan pow,,,why does wing chun ,and most other martial arts revolve around money making exercises,,, why,,,

  • ya,it really works when u're pointed by a baby

  • lol in the begining.....

NOW WHEN SOMEONE HAS A GUN AND HE IS THIS FAR AWAY..........WELL GOODLUCK........

  • the moves are so GAY !!! bleah...il surrender too

  • you neeed super lighting speed to be able to do that!!

  • Nope, Action is ALWAYS faster then reaction. unless he is on full alert and knows you're going to do that, but even then it's difficult for them.

  • UUMMM NOO. Sorry, but no, I am not going to do that technique, ever! The only way that would ever work is if the attacker, like the girl in the video, was holding the gun wrong. And even then the guy in the video was having trouble taking the gun away. Im sorry but that was just pitiful.

  • the gun was too close to him.

  • The thing I have to wonder about these kinds of pistol disarm techniques (not just this one, but others as well), when you grab the gun by the barrel, if it's a semi-auto pistol, and the gun goes off, what happens to your hand that was gripping the slide so tightly? I'm not trying to be smart. But I can't imagine it will feel very good.

  • @timmythealien well treu but rather have my hand blown of then my hart blown out.

first of all any good martial art instructor will not encourage you to grab guns and stuff first option is to avoid these kind of situations if everything else fails and you do and up in such a positions this is the way to go

  • @timmythealien

the gun will only discharge once, the chamber cannot reload. a burnt hand is better than an ventilated head.

  • @timmythealien If you pull the slide back as you grabbing the gun.

    it won't discharge.

  • @timmythealien it pushes it back so the firing pin can't contact the primer cap.

a revolver is different, 2, different ways, if the hammer is back, then with the fingers grab the cylinderand the thumb grabs, the thumb goes throughback end of the trigger, the webbing in between the thumb and index finger will block the firing pin, it will hurt prolly tear your hand but better than a bullet in the chest, 2 if the hammer isn't back then grab the cylender and don't let it move, doesn't take much

  • The only way this would ever possibly work is if the person with the gun was distracted and looking off to the side other than that this would get you killed!

  • NICE ONE! if i never watched this video, ill just surrender and wait for miracles

  • u might wanna just surrender and wait for miracles still
