That is a really good book - it's divided into 3 parts. The first part is this pretty intense story of the journalist that publishes this book - so the first part is a partial biography and how he gets in hands on the manuscripts that make up part 2 and part 3. Part 2 is like a poem of one's man journey into spirituality. And part 3 is the real account of Jesus's betrayal by Judas that correlates with the Gospel of Judas - Judas gives his own story - and it's not blasphemous - it's spiritual..

The Flight of the Feathered Serpent is filled with esoteric wisdom and the personal stories about the journalist and Jesus and Judas are really amazing and touching. It really strikes you when you read it, and you can get more insight each time you read it.

Judas betrayed Jesus. Why? for it's written, sure. At the time, Roman treated them badly, Judas was a patriotic & passionate servant of Jesus; he believed Jesus is the Holy Son from God, their Messiah. He plead to Jesus so many time to "do something for helping the miserable people". Jesus told him to be patient, so he became upset, angery at Christ. He was so upset hotheaded "Feathered Serpent", so he did it when he had chance only in hope Jesus'll do miracle saving the people of mass.

One interesting thing I have noticed when rereading the book is that there are so many great teachings or what you would call them in the interaction between Armando and his friend. It is easy to see that history as just a history and a set up for part two or three of the book, but if we look at what the friend is saying, it has a lot of value.

Yes, and it is like in having this historical context, there's something timeless taking place, which draws my attention that there is and always has been this uneasiness and thirst for a wider more meaningful perspective or understanding of things.

Part 2 and 3 is quite something else though. Something that almost tells a story invisibly.

I really like the fact that Armando is just an ordinary man who gets the chance to interact with this mysterious friend. Armando is very human and makes mistakes after mistakes, but he shows from time to time that he wants to do the right thing.

And even if he himself don't understand the writings of his friend fully, or even to a big extent, he understands that they are important and shared them with the world.

@mattiasisaksson2 ~ I completely agree, and I felt it perfectly in place that Armando did not understand the writings fully, because I then took it as only natural that I did not understand them, but that there was something pulling me to try and make that step to find understanding, rather than to leave it all as facts.

That's why I really appreciate a book such as this one, that there will be things that I don't understand, because if I understood everything what else could I learn :-)

Every time I read this book, it touches me in a different way - and I'm not easily touched by books, movies, or music. But it's just that good. I can't believe that this book almost faded into obscurity. What a huge loss that would have been! Fortunately (unlike the Gospel of Judas :( ), it's fully intact. Did I mention how good it is?

I agree this is an amazing story, and most people don't know about it! The profound relationship between Jesus and Judas comes across very strongly and touched me deeply.
