You cannot call your self educated and believe in things without any evidence to support it, and that is what faith is. To have faith in something is to not require anything to back your beliefs, otherwise its not faith.

...and just so you know, not one person in my graduating program is a theist....and I will tell you why; because university is for being educated, if you are a 'faith type person', you do not require evidence to support a hypothesis. Religion, is the opposite of education.

However, it is 2010 and we still have these beliefs that condone the beating of woman, the tolerance of murder, etc, etc. People today should be civil enough to not need their morals dictated to them, or told how they have to live. There always has to be a creator, you have to submit yourself to the creator. Think of it as a kid who made his own tiny model of an imaginary town and he creates characters in it. The characters he created have to submit themselves to the kid as he needs them to be apart of his town. If they didn't believe in the creator, wouldn't they have just gone amok?
