"his supreme expression of love is an act of death"
seriously. you can't make this shit up. if god was so loving maybe he should just off himself for good and let the rest of us live in peace. if god's love results in death, i'd rather he just keep it to himself.
"During the minute that it takes me to compose this sentence, thousands of animals are being eaten alive, others are running for their lives, whimpering with fear, still others are slowly being devoured from within by parasites. If there is a time of plenty, this very fact leads to an increase in the population until the natural state of starvation and misery is restored. The universe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is nothing but pitiless indifference." - Dawkins
Generally speaking, I'm a big fan of the BioLogos videos. However, I find that both of these ones with Daniel Harrell are neither clear nor useful. Maybe it's poor video editing, or maybe it's just a lack of articulation, but his points don't seem to be entirely well argued or explained in either this or the previous video.
This appears to be an attempt to backpedal from the abyss that religions started barreling toward when they started opposing progress and factual knowledge that contradicted the claims about reality the religions depend upon for legitimacy WITHOUT giving up the claims or the legitimacy.
A case of trying to have their cake and eat it too so to speak.
I welcome their efforts as long as they're also interested in removing religion from the discourse on science and politics.
it also reinforces the fact that everything has a beginning and an end, everything accept God.

Christians worship a monstrous death-god. Okay. It's a good thing gods are imaginary.

I invite anyone who is really interested in the subject to head over to Eric MacDonald's blog, Choice in Dying.
The post is titled "An Even Bigger Disaster. A Train Wreck of a God."
I think the term "both barrels" is apropos.

Riiiight...its the old 'we cant know the mind of god' argument, but here's what I think anyway.
Theology, the art of making shit up.

Evidence required.
Sorry, but speculation about why "god" would do this or that is just so much fairy story nonsense.
There's no evidence for the presence of any god in any natural process, including the completely unguided process of evolution.
I invite you to prove me wrong with research citations from the peer-review science literature.

Dawkins doesn't think that's a bad thing.

Incorrect. Both I and Dawkins subscribe to utilitarianism. Look it up.

Incorrect Dawkins doesn't think that anything should be condemned as evil.
