  • i dont know which boat is which, theres at least 3 of these boats in argyll, 2 in crinan and one (vic 72) recently re-registered the vital spark in inveraray. i think one is called "auld reekie" it sat in campbeltown harbour in the late 80s

  • Thanks for posting a great clip, great to see her again. I am pretty sure this vessel is no imposter, I think this is the Vital Spark from the much earlier TV series broadcast roughly 1965 to 1974. I can confirm that a very sad and sunken vessel bearing the name Vital Spark sat close to the lock gates in the harbour for many years perhaps in the late 70s early 80s. Final fate unknown.

  • @finnichglen ,

My uncle raised he from Bowling outer basin a good few years ago and she is supposed to be in a shed in renfrew or greenock getting repaired,

  • @gmcmeeking Who is your uncle? We were the ones who first got her up and floating. We spent weeks getting her up, but she was too full of silt of float properly. A contractor then come down with a JCB to dig her out and get her floating on and even keel.

  • She's an imposter. The boat more deserving of the name lay in Crinan for years and is now in Ardrishaig, She appeared as the Vital Spark from the 1994 series Tales of Para Handy and still carries the name.

  • @mapper1701 When we raised her, we were told she was the one that stared in the 1970's (ish) series of Para Handy. I don't know what proof anyone had of that though.

  • Thanks for that, beautiful to see!

  • By chove but it's chust sublime! And if Dougie wass here he would tell you...
