  • Thanks Dario! You stuff is very accurate and would love to hear you playing the song sung by waylon called "Hitting the bottle again" thats a really hard guitar song!

  • Hey what kind of guitar is that?

  • BOOKMARKED! Thanks ma'man!

  • it is easy to learn from you ..u do it like better than any teacher i know..any one could learn from u...tx george

  • Great video. That's all I can say. Thank you. Maybe you could do a video of "Mental Revenge" by Waylon Jennings?

  • You are awsome-Big T

  • Your instruction is as perfect as your playing - both A++ outstanding. This video is a real pleasure to watch from start to finish. It's refreshing to hear an instructor who can give smooth and clear instructions. This is a great song, and you have done it a great service.

  • more, waylon, please, any chance for This Time will be the last time, lead, and turn-around ?

  • Any thoughts on thumbpick+fingers vs. flatpick+fingers?

  • @ILIAD9 Waylon himself used flatpick and fingers. I play like that too.

  • @ILIAD9 By the sound I hear on the record I think Wayne Moss played it with pick and fingers (no thumb-pick). Also, as @ILIAD9 said, Waylon used the play this and he used pick and fingers as well. So, if you're trying to emulate the sound of the original recording that's what I would do. But if you're just trying to find your way of playing this I think it doesn't really matter if you go for pick+fingers or thumb-pick+fingers as long as it sounds good and works for you.

  • Thanks so much for this great lesson. Your teaching style is very well put together. Musicianship and tone are A+.

  • Would you possibly add a split screen in the future? I would love to watch your right hand work. Thanks!

  • What kind of guitar are you playing. I know its a fender telecaster but what kind.

  • @cmdirt100 It's an original 69 standard Tele

  • Thanks for the lesson Dario, I had to move one part to the first and second strings on the fourth and third frets, sliding the second string from D to C# then open B while holding the G# on the first string. My old fingers can't do it like the lesson. I've drove my wife nuts playing it. Your friend, The Texas Dude.

  • Dario, you just made my year. The last couple parts of this solo have always given me trouble. Thanks for doing such a thorough job of explaining the main riff, too. It looks like I have been playing the Right channel version but noticed I was missing a few subtleties after watching your video.

  • thumbs up if you like Waylon Jennings - Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line Part 1 of 2 (Country Guitar Lesson)
