Some of these comments blow my mind. Just because Bernie want to help people and wants to put fairness back in government doesn't make him a socialist. Having an agreed upon system to aid retirement doesn't make us socialist. At what point do we start taxing the wealthy? Would it not be fair if they paid the same rate in taxes as everyone else? Good god... if anyone thinks the wealthy pay as much as most the middle class (as percent of income) they are most certainly wearing blinders.
Obama and Sanders: two communist nutjob peas in the same pot! And I thought you were supposed to get smarter as you got older....clearly Sanders proves that old saying wrong.
i'm posting the members list on my channel, all these filthy rats need to be exposed, either i'm gonna have to learn how to make videos or someone is gonna help? rsvp please..thanks, i've hit my bullshit limit
By now it should be abundantly clear to everyone that Obama is no socialist, but a crony capitalist--somewhat more liberal than Bush, but a crony capitalist all the same.
Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, would have let the big banks fall. Obama, Bush, & McCain all supported shovelling money into their coffers while letting them do what they please. That is what I mean by crony capitalism. It allows private concerns to fatten themselves on public funds while not putting meaningful restrictions on them.
Bernie Saunders is a Democratic Socialist, there are differences between Marxism and Socialism. Democratic Socialism is what George Orwell was, and he despised communism.
Hah, judging by the overwhelming response of youtube viewers, I don't think anybody agrees with the intent of this video. We could use a few more principled individuals in our government, whether they're Democrats and Republicans; Socialists and Libertarians alike. I hate that our own words have been used in the prejorative against us, and it's time to take back the words "Liberal", "Progressive", and "Socialist" for the fucking pinkos!
In order to make it work you have to have strong govt control since the state owns ALL the businesses. That means they control where you work, what you'll eat, what home you live in, and anything else related to your economic life. Under a communist system the basic act of getting Food, water, and shelter is now under control of the government and dispersed by them.
First of all, communist society doesn't have a state. And secondly, communist societies have never existed. I think govmnt-"free market" argument is way behind sociological arguments.
USSR was, as it's name says, a "Socialist" country. Socialism is the transitory part to a future communist society, according marxist theory. So, communist societies have never existed, or maybe in a very remote past, as a primitive communism.
Because there are two errors on the interpretation. First of all State and Government are not the same, and the industries have to be owned by the workers, not strictly the state. There are a lot of studies in those terms that cannot be so easily described here, you can read some of them, like Lukacs, Sombart, Marcuse or Marx himself.
Bernie Sanders is a great man, and I wish there were more elected officials like him. Although I voted for Ralph Nader last week, the fact that I see here that Barack Obama was campaigning for Bernie Sanders certainly adds more respect for him. Thank you Barack Obama for doing the right thing, and campaiging for Bernie Sander. Bernie Sanders supports the US Constitution more on his "worst day" than George W. Bush ever did during his entire worthless life.
Hooray for the socialist! comrade Obama and Comrade Sanders are great people! we will take back the wealth hat has been stolen from the poor for the last eight years by the greedy selfish miserable rich Bush Rats.
Too bad Bernie Sanders has done a heck of a better job upholding the Constitution and representing for ordinary Americans than Bush or the majority of the Congressional Republicans.
Also, I find it hilarious that Senator Obama should renounce his nonexistent ties to CPUSA, especially when it is hard to think of a more irrelevant political organization in the U.S. today (no candidates being run, perhaps a few hundred active members).
Oh, Sanders is indeed a man of Quality. Funny thing about the text - I'm pretty sure the guy has never read the manifesto himself. Nor the "CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS"
Walter Annenberg, a lifelong Republican and former ambassador who was appointed by Presidents Nixon and Reagan, funded an ambitious program to reform urban education in many cities in the mid 1990s. Ayers was an important member of the group that developed and wrote the grant proposal to the Annenberg Foundation.
A statement from REPUBLICAN Illinois Rep. Diana Nelson on Obama and Ayers:
"It was never a concern by any of us in the Chicago school reform movement that he (Ayers) had led a fugitive life years earlier," said former Illinois state Republican Rep. Diana Nelson, who worked with both Obama and Ayers over the years. "It's ridiculous. There is no reason at all to smear Barack Obama with this association. It's nonsensical, and it just makes me crazy. It's so silly."
i believe in free will, Obama doesnt, he says that we will no longer have a choise to work together cause we will be forced to work together. Look, im perfectly fine helping people, just as long as its my choice.
Most people only label something "socialist" if they're not getting some. So, the commentary is b.s. and pointless. The fact *IS* that most of us are working harder for less, and the top earners are earning much, much, much more for much, much, much less (including much less responsibility). There's a breaking point with disparity, is all.
B.S.? Bernie is a self proclaimed Socialist. Most people only label something "socialist" that is in fact "socialist". Not getting some?! Some what? I personally want NOTHING from the government but FREEDOM and protection from those who seek to take away my liberties and the fruits of my labor. Oh sorry, that is exactly the opposite of what our socialist government does! No hand out here. You seem a bit disgruntled. Glass half full? Or hand half empty? Disparity is ultimately a state of mind.
i completely agree, i work 2 jobs and i pay for my own health insurance, im only 19 but im making 20-25 grand a year, sure it isnt much but i am proud that i can take care of myself. My goal one day is to live the american dream and become wealthy and prosper, but yet if that were to happen the government will punish me by taxing me at 3 times the rate im taxed now, and obama wants to socialize the tax system even more! Success should not be punished
How can you be so selfish with your money? When you make more you should have to pay for the lazy slob that didn't do squat with his life. Don't you know that the very best way to get people to produce is to give them free money! Once they get free money then they will want to work for the same amount as they did when they weren't doing anything for it.
@robpatozz Your idealism is all well and good, but the fact of the matter is that corporations are the bleeders of your liberties and my own. You should be happy government can intervene on what these corporations can do to you. Fascism is just around the corner if you and the rest of American don't open your eyes to who's really taking away your "freedom" which is money in conservative talk. CEO Fed Reserve: <$300,000 a year salary. Compare that to CEO of Wells Fargo or BofA,....
@robpatozz Private Banks and corporations are the reason the Great Depression took hold. It'll be the reason we let it happen again. Don't be fooled. The Bush Family, Heinz Family, and all the rest of them would love to try to setup a fascist regime again just like they almost did in the 30's. But another group of over-seers beat them to it in a few countries about 5 thousand miles away. Guess who they were and how that ended??
@caucasianjake WRONG! FDR was the cause of the Great Depression, which didn't happen until a few years after the stock market crash. It was directly attributed to FDR's policies that instigated the crash when it could have easily been averted. Anyone who says otherwise is a perfect example of a someone who has NOT done their own thorough research, as I have - part of learn getting a MBA.
@guyfroml Dude, are you kidding? the Great Depression started in 1929. Ever heard of Black Tuesday? FDR wasn't inaugurated until 1933, beating out a Republican who WAS partly to blame for the Depression. He served three terms, more than any other president before him. He must've been doing something right. He saved tons of land for national parks and started social security, which is the most successful government program ever implemented. Your MBA obviously doesn't mean anything. Read something
Have you ever thought the reason why you are working harder for less is because of the govt. The govt takes more from what you earn than any other country in the world and if you added what you pay in taxes every year you might find that it is a sizable chunk of money that you could have used for yourself to make your own life better. Yet the govt feels that it is entitled to take every dollar away and tell you that its for your benefit.
You are fundamentally misunderstanding the issue. The government does not profit off of you working longer and harder for less; your greedy employer does. The longer you work for less the more productivity your employer can post and therefore maximize profits for himself. The whole "government is the problem with everything" scare tactic is simply that. It's clear from the recent economic meltdown that government is not the problem, but large, greedy, unregulated corporations are.
I don't disagree with the fact that employers profit from your hard work nor do I have any objection to it because what other motive do they have to hire you? The recent economic meltdown was caused by the ramp up of housing loans to the "disadvantaged" to the point where they could not afford them. Without the government those destructive loans would not have been made and we would not be where we are right now.
As I am watching the debate, I am continually reminded that these CFR criminals are just that, Criminals. These Washington and wall street thieves are lying, and using fear mongering to push their unconstitutional SOCIALIST bailout. WAKE UP AMERICA. McCain and Obama are both CFR. Do your homework!!! Enough is enough THE FEDERAL RESERVE IS AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL PRIVATE BANKING CARTEL. WAKE THE F#@$ UP!!! FANNIE AND FREDDY WAS A BAILOUT OF THE CFR WALL STREET JUNKIES AND COMMUNIST CHINA. WAKE UP!!!!
I don't think that at this time people are particularly upset about people who think we should be paid fair wages and have good healthcare and education benefits, and live decent, humane lives.
People who truly understand the fundamentals of this country's government, specifically, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, do not support socialist programs, and federal government intervention into the private lives of individuals. I have no obligation, moral or otherwise to pay your health care bill, subsidize your wages, and finance your "decent, humane" lifestyle. Nor do you have any obligation to provide for me and mine. When forced to do so by government, that is socialism.
Then I should not be under any obligation to provide for the individuals that lent money to people they shouldn't have and are now asking me to bail them out...but some in this democracy we live in it is NOT MY CHOICE....
I read the obamafile article that you posted. Most college educated, progessive minded people come out of school thinking that communism is the answer. Then we get out into the real world and realise that it's just another way of concentrating power and is no substitute for morality. I think Obama is both liberal minded and thoughtful. But I don't think he is still a Maxist. I do think he is a globalist and won't do much to change the fall of the dollar.
Some of these comments blow my mind. Just because Bernie want to help people and wants to put fairness back in government doesn't make him a socialist. If you looked closer, socialism, didnt exist in its original form, where the workers run the plants.
This is something everybody has to get trough their thick skulls.
