  • holy crap nostalgia just hit me in the nuts

  • WHY CAN'T I MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND?

  • Good stuff!

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. Toonami before 2005 will be missed...

  • Toonemi is so awesome

  • Comment removed

  • NOOOOO!

  • Awesome throwback

  • 0:59 my favorite part as a kid

    FIRE! *ATOMIC FUCKING EXPLOSION*

  • Damn Tom is a genuis the way he pieces those clips one after another , dude is so extravagant

  • Ah the good ol' days... RIP Toonami

  • stand aside

  • god i didnt know how good i had it.

  • @dickcockdickcockk Yup, I said the same thing.

  • Cartoonetwork is bullshit. Every time they get a good show they take it off the air! They really believe kids want to watch bullshit live action shows! Leave that crap to Disney to ruin! Who gives a fuck about posing to fit through a hole in the wall (I'm pretty sure that's the name of a porno.) They ditched toonami which broadcasted all the good anime that everybody bitches about and all their classic cartoons which gave people orgasms!!! Fuck where has t.v gone to!

  • Damn, some of these shows are better animated than ones you get today lol

  • Damn I love the animation of the dude loading that gun. Whats that show called again? i forget. But yeah those Japanese animators are superhuman

  • @MrSaulgravy I think you might be referring to Outlaw Star.

  • @MrSaulgravy That my friend is some good old Outlaw Star.

  • ( best part) THATS WHAT I MEAN THATS THE ATTITUDE THATS TICKING PEOPLE OFF ( :P plus the part where hiro yui eye looks to the left and little jingle plays ) my favorite toonami AMV

  • all these shows were shit but these promos were awesome and make me miss toonami and these shitty shows.

  • @LotsOfNine

You're entitled to your opinion but I don't think the Toonami shows were "shit".

  • @Ginga I still watched the hell out of them, so what do I know?

  • @LotsOfNine

LOL! You watched them so how were they shit?

  • That Gundam Wing was the best out of all them. Heero Yuy was ruthless.

  • Damn this brings me back so much memories. Nostalgia is the only thing I can say to sum up everything about my years of watching Toonami. Ahh good times

  • Cool. The Tree of Might and The Garlic Jr. Saga. Good times

  • 1 dislike? Man, that's one sad life. Too bad I cannot feel sorry for you.

  • I love the underlying messages in this that most people would probably just write off as motivational dribble.

  • @thePANDEMlC

Yep. That was the genius of Toonami. They brought us epic cartoons and music videos but were also subtly, maybe even subliminally, influencing us. Music videos like these opened my mind.

  • @thePANDEMlC Sorry, but I didn't catch it.

  • Nostalgia..

  • damn toonami was so ill...so techno and electric and futuristic while maitaining an underground hip hop vibe...i knoe alot of ppl want 2nami back but if they do bring it back(which they wont) theyre only going to fuck it up like they did in the last few years of its life...i like to remember toonami and my youth the way it was..

  • @liltony116 I really hate that your right but feel you on the last part stupid new CEO I guess this is just one of those things we can say was part of our generation and ours alone

  • CN had great stuff with Toonami. It's tragic that they lost a lot of that.

  • this is fucking cash right here

  • I liked the parts where they used flare and explosions in the anime. Like Blue Sub 6, or Last Exile's special effects. The cloud, explosion, and sparkling stuff just made it more enthralling ... Though, by far, Outlaw Star was my favorite anime.

  • Bring back Toonami! Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, BRING IT THE HECK BAAACK!!!!

  • @RRaptor86 We don't even have Cartoon Network on this rock :/ As if life without Toonami isn't bad enough :'( suxx....

  • What was the one in which the guy was saying shit about how no one had a future if the mission failed?

  • @lightgrenades11 Gundam.

  • @WhisperingShade in-fucking-deed

  • @lightgrenades11 Blue Sub 6

  • ohh memories...

  • They don't make stuff like this anymore

  • the world will not be destroyed....it will change... u got that right

  • 'Nothing ever good can come from staying with normal people'

    Best/Truest line I've ever heard.

  • I'd like to know how I can find that one special they had that had like a bunch of music videos and some weird series that focused on alien but it played the song "I'm Blue" by Effiel 65. Send a message if you know and I'll reply when I can. =). Good video by the way.

  • blue submarine No.6

  • there was this show in there i cant remember its name but its about this crew and a submarine rings any bells??

  • Oh snap this is some great hype work I've seen all of this already and i still wanna see it like its brand new xD! "If this mission fails..." and outlaw star was that fire!!!

  • damn outlaw star was the shiiiiiit

  • Damn the old days, what has time done?

  • Time destroyed toonami. They had great anime but then they changed it.

  • IT GOT COCKY.

  • @breastinspector2 wrong. it got canceled. I missed the memo, and watched this...uh..I dunno whatever it was with the fucking undersea shit. It ate cock.

  • The shows that are in this promo were the shows that made toonami and probably the best line up they ever had

  • DANG were did my childhood go i feel like i didnt even get to enjoy all this stuff i remeber it all like it just happened deja vu but man kills me and tears me up to see how time has gone by! the memories in those days didnt have a care in the world man just kicked back and watched toonami do its thing and dreamed that anything was possible like going to space! thanks outlaw star and THANK YOU TOONAMI!!!!!!! =(......how i miss you now!

  • same here man, just sad how time whent to fast. forsher the best times of life.

  • well you know what they say: all good things must come to an end...i remember toonami too, just could wait till i could get off the bus and run in the house and throw down my bookbag that was my tv when i got there...i would be so excited, then the next day, me and friends would be on the bus talking about all the shows...

  • Same here! Exactly what I was going to say. XD

  • @darklyresplendentone XD..i miss toonami...it's a shame what youngsters are growing up on now Obama needs to put toonami back on ..then he'll be doing something xd

  • @skatermakel

You took the words right out of my mouth friend!

  • Weren't these like the first, primal, building block AMV's for all of us?

  • Why did CartoonNetwrk kill toonami?! I think it might have been the gradual spread and homogenization of cable tv so there was a lot pressure from the bosses for CN to conform and show American valued kids shows (i.e. crap).

They have anime channels now out there but only on premium, which we could never afford in my family growing up.

  • To me, the old Toonami shows were perfectly American. Yeah, I know most of them were English-dubbed Japanese animes, but I mean they were American in spirit. They were hopeful, inspirational, energetic, meaningful, poignant... with characters and stories about perseverance in the face of evil, self-reliance. Pretty much that pioneering American spirit.

But what's on today is just vacuous shit, I'll agree with you there.

  • From Megas XLR -

Coop (in ranting on CN): Listen up, you Disney wannabe! You destroyed Toonami, cancelled my favorite shows, and worst of all, stupid reality-fake shows! Well, there a lot of people who against this piece of garbage and Cartoon Network should stay true to the core!

  • @silencecrow0

    When did he say that?

  • "be very careful"

  • "No thing good will come with staying with normal people."

  • @emall333

"And we shale be the symbol of hope for the people."

    "Yea...whatever."

  • this is from THE BEST years of toonami.

  • deroboi

Agreed, they were THE BEST years.

    Outlaw Star

    Cowboy Bebop

    Rurouni Kenshin

    DBZ

    Yu Yu Hakusho

    more . . .

  • "The world will not be destroyed...it will only be changed". Exccelent!!

  • Okay, Toonami NEEDS to get there own station/channel.

  • oh man, what was that one show? at around 2:15 ?

    god i miss these shows.

  • Blue Sub Number 6 is the name of that show.

    It was gnarly.

  • outlaw star

  • I think T.O.M saw that Cartoon Network has gone... and he evacuated. most show's stars and co-stars should be sent to the (Yu-Yu hakusho) Dark Tournament like bobby says, 10.count, Slamball and Hot Wheels BF5. the 3 who should be spared are Bakugan, stoked and total drama.

  • i dont remember this show :S

  • Aaaaaahhhhh!!!!! Nostalgia attack! Wow, I remember this! I miss Toonami. Thanks for posting.

  • Jeez, why'd they have to ruin Cartoon Network? Kids are getting ripped off nowadays. I really miss watching the shows..

  • lol so true i mean "cartoon network" shouldnt even keep the name anymore since all they show now is like real life stuff like cmon bobbys says?pssh seen better stuff then that

  • hahah their shows are hella whack and unoriginal. That goes for all the other crud in the children's channels, it doesn't teach them any 'morals'. I.E: if you spirit bomb, you can take on anyone :D

  • The spirit bomb was all morality you had to take from the people around you in order to get that much strength. Teaches people how to rely on each other all those shows had morals and hidden meanings now its all crap.

  • they did change the name now it C.N.real

  • Its memories like these that make you stop and remind you that being a kid was not so bad. R.I.P. Toonami-We miss you

  • man the more I see these old toonami videos the more I want it to comeback :O

  • Man i remembered stayin up late for this and then wakin up late for school my parents would get mad at me but it was so worth it,good times, goood times

  • don't you wish you could travel back in time just for this. i would

  • The end was so epic.

"Nothing good can ever come out of staying with normal people."

    Epic Fucking Win.

So many memories... So many good times.

Love all around. Good to everyone who grew up with this, Witnessing Tom grow and fall, even in the glory days and the ruins. This will forever be remembered as what good shows stood for.

I read a note on why it stopped because ratings went down. Yeah, you're damn right it did. Look what you had here... And look what you turned him into.

    R.I.P.

  • @SirRavin fucking nostalgia-ville holmes, here's hoping you were born in the '86 age range, and I can truly claim you as one of my own

  • Ah! I miss old days of Toonami I start watching on 2001 to off air 2007 or 2008 not sure.

Toonami was shit bring all anime shows but now don't care anymore. :(

  • i remember that one night midnight run had the gorrilaz and draft punk i think it was the night of the super bowl and that was my halftime show instead of the people playing and i have to admit it was great to see animated music videos specially made for the videos instead of the bands

  • Man fuck cartoonnetwork. thy are the reason thy took off Toonami completely off broard cast television. I remeber the old days when i was just 5years old. Getin out school and straight to the Tv. watching my favorite show. DBZ. I always watch it after school. i miss the old days. So... fuck cartoonnet work cuz they put GAY shows now.. i dont even bother watchin cartoonnet work anymore. now i just watch "adult swim".

  • @Carnage0Ghost 5 years old? fucksake, I feel scoffing at you, carnageghostey, aren't you, like, 12 now?

  • Now this brings back memories.

    God, I miss Toonami...

  • what were those cartoons showed? i remember watching them but not the names!

  • OUTLAW STAR, Dragon ball z, gundam wing, Ronin Warriors

  • Cool the old school voice for krillen. I think that's the movie scene from Tree of Might. Piccolo got whooped. I was pissed his my favorite character.

  • Makes me think of the old days when we where trying to keep the Dammed from spreading to much.......

  • I miss the old school toonami so much... it's what got me into anime. And I'm pretty sure that the clips like the one above are what started the AMV phase of people putting music to anime. I could be wrong though.

  • Naw, I remember AMVs being around for a while before Toonami started making them. Though I have to say they made some of the best!

  • of course not

  • I hope they bring back the old toonami, that would be a miracle.

  • im 17 and i remember when they aired Ronin Warriors and gundam wing those were my first two anime. sigh memories that will last and what did tom mean "So, until we meet again, stay gold" does that mean it might come back some day. i hope it does it. brings back memories watching this video.

  • It means innocent I think

  • god i miss dbz and toonami also all the anime they showed now theres nothing left........

  • what show is at 2:08 is it outlaw star i think it is but not sure

  • I believe its Blue Gender

  • it is Outlaw Star then after it is Blue Submarine no.6

  • 3rd-8th grade then it went to the shitter

  • true that man.i fell the same way bringin in crap like naruto and bleach

  • i was 4 when i saw this and i understood it toonami was the shit back then

  • *SIGH!!* SO MANY MEMORIES

  • im 16 now and i nearly cried when seein this video, so many damn memories

  • Oh my god, this brings me back. 7th or 8th grade, I think.

  • toonami was the best, tell they started to put those gay cartoon on

  • I pretty much just overdosed on nostalgia.

These videos were so awesome whenever they came on TV, but this is the one I remember most.

I never knew what show that clown guy hanging from the edge was from, though...

  • totally agree, brings back soo many memories.

that guy you are talking about was from Outlaw Star btw

  • what show was that at 1:07?

  • i'm not quite sure but the scenes right before it were from a 5 part mini series called Blue Sub 6 so it might be the same anime

  • i think it might have been outlaw star...

  • outlaw star

  • whoa.... I actually remember this! Kinda depressing now though cause toonami isn't awesome anymore.

  • cuz its not on anymore

  • At least reading all these comments i know im not the only one that feels this way

  • The golden years of toonami 99 - 02 was when they played this and other promo vids. I love them they set you in the right mood for watching the shows.

  • One CNN Center

    Atlanta, Georgia 30303

    Phone: 404-827-1700

Call this number. They are the people in charge of cn comlplain about toonami!!!!!!! If we get enough calls they might listen!!!

Comment or message me if you wind up calling!

  • I remember seeing this!

  • Goddamn this was along time ago, :/ when they played awesome ass stuff

  • i really love this promo and the old toonami

  • Seriously... we need a renaissance of cable TV anime. No more late night blocks, or being force fed nothing but sure-fire shonen epics. In my opinion Toonami was doing something amazing, and I think their formula of cool beats and edgy shows would work better than ever now that the otaku bug has really caught on.

  • wait fuck i meant not just late night blocks whatever

  • U know adult swim recently had this thing called oldschool night were they aired a whole lineup of there old shows. myabe cn should do the same thing?

  • GREAT MEMORIES.......i say we band together and march up too cartoon network headquarters and fing the people responsible for turining toonami into crap and DESTROY THEM

  • Totaly agree

  • I'm in.

  • dude i cant even watch the promos on youtube any more cuz it depresses me lol

  • i love how krillin goes

    "ca'mon"

  • gotta love those explosions!!

  • Let me repeat that, if this mission fails, if we are unsuccessful.... we have no future.

  • man i miss those days, they took off all of those legendary shows and replaced them with crap, seriously it happened on toonami and cartoon network its a shame, but still those were the days.

  • Right!? The only time I looked forawrd to an ENTIRE television block.

  • Does anyone know the show or movie that 2:07 and/0r 2:30 is from?! I neeeeeeeed to know!!! Please.

  • Blue Submarine #6

  • Thanks! I found out like 10 minutes after I asked. hahaha.

  • The music featured in this era of Toonami was composed by Joe Boyd Vigil, and these tracks were released on an album called Toonami: Deep Space Bass. Vigil went on to produce two other albums which are available on iTunes and elsewhere online, but were never distributed in stores.

  • U know fuck CN toonami and adult swim need there own channel!!!!!!!! then toonami can be shown the wya it was meant to be seen

  • I have the toonami soundtrack, this is my favorite track

  • yo do? where can i listen or get it?

  • Dude what happened to Toonami? Adult Swim used to be cool, but they took off all anime and are going downhill in my opinion

  • We have to start watching the anime so they can air it more!

People watch the comedy more than the serious anime.

They aren't shy about pointing that out to us in their bumps.

  • god I love their commercials to death, they made the best music videos to promote their awesome lineup!

  • Does anybody know that black and white music video that would only come on during commercials?

  • those where the kick ass shows that brought me to like anime... whatever happened to them?

  • shows like tenchi in tokyo, the original gundam and dragonball Z, outlaw star, and those other great ones!

  • people torrent anime nowadays and don't watch it on TV anymore :/

  • What anime was that on 2:15 where the woman says, " Stand aside!"?

  • Blue Submarine No. 6

There's only four episodes, so it's pretty short, but still very good.

  • Thanks, I've been wondering that ever since I first saw it on C.N.

  • wasn't it just a movie?

  • No it was a 4 episode OAV.

  • ah thanks, now I remember, I guess it was just so long ago. Oh jeez, I remember coming home from school to watch the lineup, staying up past my bed time to watch Midnight Run clutching the remote to turn off if my parents walked by, or waking up early on Saturdays just to catch the Rising Sun...good times...must've been a freshmen in high school then

  • ah thanks, now I remember, I guess it was just so long ago. • god i wish they put gundom wing back on

  • There was four from daft punk, three from gorillaz and one for kenna.

I think you are talking about kenna and the song for that was "Hellbent"

  • Actuallu in was in 2001.

  • CN needs to get thier mind right and get the stuff back of how toonami was, even TOM 1 was better looking than the TOM now

  • Hell yeah CN stay playn all that whack ass stuff 4real they need to get Toonami back on track. Im talkin bring back those shows like Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing. This video is great and brings back the memories of staying up late KNOWING you're gonna be tired for skool in the mourning.
