When I heard this song for the first time on XM today it said BDDDB on the display. So, that's what I searched on YouTube, and here it is. Apparently this mistake is not uncommon.
Who remembers the post-Bonzo elements? All a bit distant but I did attend a 'Viv Stanshall and Friends' in a London Uni gig in 1971 somewhere near the GPO Tower in London where Neil did this in his pre-glam boots (and I have the original World LP - worth millions on e-Bay?)
Jeez. History of the Bonzos is the only place I know it from. I only just found out it was The World from... these comments... when i was trying to figure out why it wasn't on Cornology.
I can see that this has been mentioned before but I can point out that thei was never the Bonzo Dog band, it was written by Neil Innes and recorded by "The Wold" which was a groups that featured Neil Innes, Dennis Cowan, Ian Wallace & Roger McKew although it did feature of The History of The Bonzos it was never recorded by the Bonzo Dog Band.
In 1973 the Bonzos got back together to do a British tour but split after 2 gigs. I was at one of them and they did play this song.

If you bothered to read the liner notes & credits on History of....
You would know that in fact it is The World.
When I first heard this on the radio, I thought it was Ringo Starr. Of course the DJ came on and announce The World.

I'm certain, the Bonzos never played 9 to 5 pollution blues. Neil did in The World, and also in Innes Book Of Records.

I know, people have already told me.
I assumed it was by the bonzos, as I got it off "the history of the bonzos" CD

Ummmm...this song isn't by the Bonzo Dog Band. It was by Neil Innes' post-Bonzo outfit The World.
But I still like the video, particularly "Shoes painted by Van Gogh".

Hummm, are you sure?
Because there was two versions of this song, 1 of Bonzo's and 1 of Neil Innes post bonzo. This version seems me played by bonzo dog band.
