The black hole is supposed to have no influence on the outside of our galaxy, and I think our solar system is pretty much on the outside.

Nope, our solar system is on the edge of the Milky Way galaxy, and will eventually be pulled into it, but probably long after our sun has already exploded. Our solar system actually originated in another galaxy, by the way, which collided with the edge of the Milky Way galaxy "a long time ago", so technically we're in two galaxies at the same time.
