Maybe "G" (or Gold) it's more-less the same currency of the Wens, the currency of Korea.

So 285.000G would be actually like 180€ (or 260 USD)

But because people don't know that fact, they consider that G is their country's currency.

@supervideogamejunkie nothing will happen even if you collected 0$ cash so you'll end up getting the H rank, besides at the end when you defeat king boo the game will automatically make luigi pick up king boo's crown that is worth 5,000G which is the equivalent of a single coin.

The Mansion was an illusion created by King Boo to trick Mario and Luigi. Since King Boo was defeated, the Mansion disappeared and with the treasure Luigi found, E. Gadd got him a new mansion/house. The treasure was so little that he could only get a tent.
