Right now, the Libyan campaign has caused European air forces to virtually run out of munitions. A few bombing runs a day for a few weeks.. and they're done.
What would they do in a real war where their air forces would have to carry out 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 sorties a day? They'd have nothing left in a matter of hours. If you guys spend massive defense budget, you would not have this problem.

Right now, the Libyan campaign has caused European air forces to virtually run out of munitions. A few bombing runs a day for a few weeks.. and they're done.
What would they do in a real war where their air forces would have to carry out 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 sorties a day? They'd have nothing left in a matter of hours. If you guys spend massive defense budget, you would not have this problem.

@gamblemadman Britain fought courageously in WWII but the US clearly did most of the nasty work (in the west) such as the more dangerous daylight bomb raids, far heavier fighting on D-Day, most of the work in the Battle of the Buldge (by far the biggest campaign on the west front), etc. You say a little respect is due (I agree btw), but your countrymen will rarely admit how critical the US was to the British war effort. Many of u won't admit Churchill begging FDR for help, the importance......

Dude, it's an established fact that French civilians kept fighting on. Either as actual resistance fighters or part of the Free French or as a vast network of infomants for the Allies. Not only that they would rescue a good number of downed Allied airmen. They did what they could given the situation they foudn themselves in.

The British Empire did commit the occasional genocide and erected the odd concentration camp here and there but, by and large,the Empire spread industry and trade over the world and was ultimately a good thing.
