@Epilum Hello~ Character designer here. C: I gave him bandages to fit PowerFX's theme of "monster" VOCALOIDS. Sweet Ann and Big Al both sport Frankenstein-eqsue stitches. When designing Oliver I tried putting stitches on him as well, but they looked very wrong. So we went with bandages instead.

You're free to dislike them, regardless of why they're there, but at least you now know why he has them. 8P

Overall this Oliver Demo is good but, I still hear a Clarinet-y weirdness with some of his lower long note sounds(I dunno how you say it X / ) He's definatelyunderstandable over all but I wonder if editing was used because some people needed to edit Lola or Leon due to there raw voices not being completely understandable. People are having debates over whether or not he's shota. To me he is and is not shota. He's girly/cute to an extant but, draw him in a dress and we'll see then i:

I really like Oliver BUT DARN IT he makes it harder for me to pick an English Vocaloid as my first one. I cant get Sonika 'cuz she's not for beginners. I cant get Lola, Leon, or Miriam becuz there in the process of post-retirement so I may not get them in time and it may be a while before I can get their updated ver. Sweet Ann does not appeal to me all that much but she's good and Big-Al isnt, that's it. Zero-G and Bplats are also taking a while to make there Engloids. And I dont want Eng Miku.

@SuperFlashfish Same here. I *looks both ways and whispers* hate Miku. I can't stand her in Japanese either. While I do thank Miku's development for continuing Vocaloid, I can't stand her. She overshadows much higher quality ones like VY1 and Nekumura Iroha. When Miku gets English it will have a heavier accent than Luka's and once again she'll overshadow other Vocaloids, this time English ones. I was originally going to buy LEON but like you said, he's entering retirement.

But Im guessing(becuz now everyone what's a V's Avatar in anime style) you need to have that one popular voicebank that represents all the other ones like in japanese animes. The only reason Miku became famous was due to that cute anime crap she has on her boxart. I find Miku's voice annoying. I can't stand her. There are better Japanese Vocaloids out there like VY1 who go unnoticed, because it doesn't have an anime image accompaning it. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anime.

@Aunpaidintern The English language is harder, so while there is little difference overall, the English language itself is much harder to synethise then languages such as Japanese. While true Ann was better quality then Miku, Ann has more dificulty copying her intended language. But yes, its a shame better Voclaoids then Miku go unnoticed overall. The VY series pretty much rewrote a few rules as well as it were.

Oliver isn't Japanese. Shota's are also usually voiced by females. Oliver is actually voiced by a 13 year old boy.
