  • Listen to the guy saying its a Conrad and everybody else is wrong.

  • I´m from Mexico and i found this Bass but haven´t any brand, but sounds really great, like semiacoustic bass, like no other . I still thinking to sale ... but i need more info about it!

  • I am old enough to remember when the Beatles first hit it big.....as a result a lot of these low priced japanese knock-off Hoffners hit the market.....they were sold at F. W. Woolworth, Lafayette Electronics and department stores etc

  • what's this strange background sound?

  • If it doesn't have a name on it, it might be Teisco, which is Japanese. Although that fingerboard-to-neck job does not look too Japanese to me: it is something you would normally associate with the Soviet Union.

  • this is an Aria - great basses - looks like it has been played plenty, Not original tuners, never saw pickups like that on them so I am thinking late 60s - the 72 thru 74 models like this also had different bridge - similar but different.

  • I have an Indonesian Hofner which came with a small sticker proclaiming its origin but of course I removed it. Without it a stranger would never know.

  • i have one and is really a mistery

  • This a National viola bass. Late 60s mfg in japan.

  • really strange viola bass..

  • It's a conrad. I have the matching 6 string guitar that was produced at the same time. Everything matches...the shape, the pickups, the neck plate and even the font on the knobs. Fun little instruments.

  • i have a hofner and hofners are pretty sexy but no effence but that one is really ugly

  • aria, late 60's

  • That I a sekova violin bass

  • i have one just like this one but mines a conqueror bruno it looks like mine just different pickups

  • It looks like an Eko.

  • I'm concerned that my messages are not getting through as you have not responded. I want to purchase this bass.

  • I had that same bass in 1972 that I bought for $55.00. It was a Conrad and had a mohagony insert in the tailpiece.

  • thats a awesome bass I like the scroll head

  • how much?

  • Hello.

    I'm still interested

    Thanks.

  • i have the same one its a 1960 something

  • Do you still have this instrument? I

  • Yes, I still have this one. It's a Aria. Thanks for asking. Are you interested in it?

  • Is it possible to send a PM?

  • i am how much

  • Do you know the history? What kind of price would you want?

  • Yes, I am interested.

  • sweet

  • Although everybody else said this, it's a Conrad. I just got my Hofner Violin Bass today, doesn't look anthing like that.

  • violin and violöa are thesame things

  • Um, I think that this bass is missing the Truss Rod cover. It is OK, but it might be the reason why the fretboard is seperating. It is easily repairable. You can buy some wood glue and glue it back on, it will be just as it was before. The fretboard most of the times is a seperate piece of wood which is then glued on the neck of the guitar/bass. Really cool, by the way.

  • This is an early 1970's Conrad made in Japan.

  • @jqfs The 'Steel Reinforced Neck' plate on the back of the neck is exactly like the Conrad hollow body bass that I have. I vote for Conrad.

  • i have this guitars is ok

  • Yes....mot definitely a Conrad. My buddy has one. IDENTICAL!

  • I have almost the exact same bass as this and I'm not sure what it is. I looked an the Univox but it has a different headstock.

  • I just picked up a Aria Bass that's almost 100% like it. The only difference is the pick ups and the bridge. I'll throw up a video of it in the next few days, they both will be listed on ebay in the next few days, I'm open to offers on either or both basses. Thanks for your interest.

  • are you selling that bass?

  • That's a 'Conrad' violin bass.

I had the violin guitar... quite identical.

    A pity I can't post a few pixes.

  • Cool looking axe.

  • it is a zorko brand bass. I did some research on the scroll headstock and the type of pickups. Zorko used diferent tuners but those look like they may be replacements. electronics look identicle.

  • hofner or not, very nice lookin bass. looks aged, i likey =D

  • maybe epiphone

  • I've played Epiphone viola basses, and this doesn't look like that.

  • i wasnt sure i hadnt seen what an epiphone viola looks like until yesterday

  • with the fretboard, its probably just that the plastic binding has shurnk over time and pulled the finish apart, im no professional though

  • In my opinion it was made by Pan. I have a Les Paul copy with the same plate where the neck bolts on the body.

  • i think it is a dutch bass. an Egmond, but i am not shure about it. but it is a nice one!

  • by the way, how much r u sell'n the viola bass fer?

  • I believe it is a Univox Lectra, they went through about 3 versions of the Lectra.

  • check the neck pocket in the body, maybe there's something in there

  • maybe it's a conrad viola bass.

  • This could be a brandoni custom bass from Wembly England they bought up all the Italian Eko factory stock and build violin basses to order

  • it must be a pleasure to play this bass!

  • those type of violin bass guitars were found in pawn shops or spanish pentecostal churches long time ago...i remember pla'n one just like it, only a little more jacked up but it still played & felt real cool! "great video" thank U so much fer di memories; :o)
