  • Love TDII's music, awesome!

  • Very cool. Glad to see you still around. I still have fond memories of listening to your music while playing Test Drive II on my Amiga. :)

  • Back when I first played TD2 on a PC in 4 colour CGA with the PC Internal Speaker in 1989, I loved the music (was there even a second version of the PC game with better music?). I thought Kris was the coolest person in the world.

  • YOU LUNATIC!

  • Well Kris, 20+ Years and your music still blows my mind.

    Miss those days. Sigh.

  • I've had the original Test Drive II C64 music stuck in my head for days now.

@khatlelid, you'll be happy to know I spent countless hours playing Test Drive II. Otherwise, how could the song come back and be stuck in my head after 20+ years? I associate the music with high-end sports cars.

  • Quite nice

  • @pekarna The best sound was on Atari 800 ST. I have it on cassete somewhere... I wish I knew where...

  • Ahah, I've always really loved this song, brings back many fond memories from my gaming past. ;3

  • Love your old DSI tunes and It's always fun to see that the original composers still are doing something with their musical skills. Subscribed and looking forward to your next mix.

  • Just want to say out loud how awesome I feel now... Thank you so much Kris for coming up with the original tune way back then, I think it had a major impact on my musical taste. This brings back so many good memories from childhood! I remember getting goosebumps everytime the music and the accolade intro kicked in, then I'd just let the menu sit there and listen :-)

  • The greatest tune ever to be made! Was trying to figure the notes of the SID version (making a remix with FL-Studio) when I found this, totally mind blowingly awesome!

  • WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD IT!!?!?!?!?!?

  • I don't know why the link doesn't work, so I give you the one to the tune on YouTube:

  • I just wished some rock band like Nonpoint could make a really professional version of this theme. With many, many sounds contained within. But I don't know how to show it to the world, so someone could do it professionally. I'm only hoping that someday Universal or some other prestigious Hollywood company will make movies like Test Drive or Syndicate Wars... Damn, I wished I could see that!

  • Again, I want to say, that you should make more of your covers for this theme. Because I don't really imagine driving my car without the perfect version. XD

I'm still waiting for it. The best one I could find on the net to this moment is in the link:

    airwolf . awnet . one . pl/music/mp3/Air@The_Duel_vol_4.mp3

  • Sorry, I was wrong. I rethinked what I said and I was just wrong. The tempo is okay. But the main melody is too slow. Instead of that squeaky and unstable guitar you should give us some more bass and hard, melancholic noices, but I don't mean hard rock or something. I hope that you feel what I feel after reading me... If you didn't know, I think your original TDII theme is the best race game theme in the whole world. And I'm really grateful for it to you!

  • The melody has to be that slow for the tempo and feel I was going for. It's an alternate slower universe for sure, but a lot more rock oriented and driving than the original version. I kind of liked the guitar sound, but really I did the whole mix in a few hours, so I'm not surprised if some people don't think it has perfect tone. Perhaps I'll revisit it again sometime or do grand Prix or something.

  • @famousMIKO Oh man, that squeaky and unstable guitar is exactly what I love in this remix :) It's so sloooooow I feel like everything goes into slow motion. To each his own!

  • @Eivitussaole Yeah !! That's what's great!!

  • Hands up, people! This is a very, very good version of TDII theme. But unfortunately not the best. If you could make it again, with fitting even the most slightest feature in it, that would be perfect. More bass, more hard mood, slower and deeper. Melancholic in its very true way.

  • Are you the actual vidoe game music composer?

  • He's the actual video game music composer. Check the credits on TD1 & TD2 and look for "Kris Hatlelid".

  • Great video.

  • Excelent!

I would want the Grand Prix remix too :D

Please post the link to your web site.

  • Anyone who wants the mp3, just mail me and I'll send you a link.

  • @khatlelid hey, can i have plz the mp3 song from it

do you have maybe 2 the song from "stunts 1990" (the intro )

  • @khatlelid Please, give us a link!! :)

  • A remix from the maestro himself! This mix was already a classic before it was released! And Kris, the fans need a MP3 file ;-). BTW, this was the first game I ever played on my 8086 that actually had a music track, played by the PC speaker. :-D

  • Excellent remix Kris! Could you put better quality mp3 version somewhere? I would love to have it in my car...

  • Sure, when I'm done I'll either put it up on my web site, or mail it to you. I'm going to experiment with it a little next weekend, so I'll let you know then.
