As a theologian (and I am to some degree) this is one of the most extensive study of the Lord Jesus Christ in one song. I could teach a college course from the basis of this song - referencing scripture. Geoff Bullock got it right. There are possibly 50 or so songs I will rate with this one... The old rugged cross, when I survey the wondrous cross, Bill Brandt's “Lord You Are.” and God on the Mountain to mention a few.
