Secondly, I've been trained by guys who've actually served over there. They told me that many times when convoys would slow down, they would be ambushed or blown up from an IED.

I do not see how such low speeds could affect the detonation of a remote or proximity IED although I am no expert. Yes at low speeds you are more susceptible to ambush, however this is not a justification to be negligent to civilians.

They do this to clear the roads because they dont want to get blown up by IED's. In a crowded area like this the chances of them getting hit by a IED is pretty high. Plus Iraq citizens know when there is an American convoy behind you, they have to pull over. Iraqi Military Police enforces that law. Secondly, I've been trained by guys who've actually served over there. They told me that many times when convoys would slow down, they would be ambushed or blown up from an IED.
This is a very dynamic war. We're not fighting the Nazi's anymore. We're fighting an enemy that isn't afraid to die, and who'll gladly cut your head off if you gave them the chance.
