  • Exsellent bunkai and inspiring ,oss .

  • Absolutely inspiring! Are you in the JKA?

  • this is awesome stuff. really good bunkai. not much for the kata though but once it works its good karate!!

  • I train in SBD....I really like how this style trains...Take a Kata and make it practical...Many of the techniques in this style are also used in SBD, so it is easy to apply these to my training....

  • If you want to understand real bunaki, view the clips by Sensei Vince Morris of Kissaki-Kai. Real bunkai is what works on the street. Replacing a gi with street clothes doesn't make the bunkai more realistic. The choice of distingushing between "bunkai" and "reality" by Didier Lupo is mistaken. Bunkai is reality.

Essential elements of the rules of combat are simply ignored and sacrificed in an attempt to make the application resemble the kata as much as possible. It's artificial.

  • @KicksLikeAMule each kata is a fighting system. therefore it was meant to work without much change in realistic situations. its all up to the practicioner to link effectively kata and bunkai. i agree that bunkai and reality are the same but there are no wasted moves in kata. karate is an efficient fighting method.

  • @Bushiwaazup, this is for reference, to make a student think about what this kata is all about, you may have different applications, we respect that. Here Sensei is giving us an idea of what he believes in. Thank you for sharing!

  • Very, very good: Kata performance, Bunkai, and video editing. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you sensei, I'm training the Ninjushiho for a few months to make my examination of DAN and his film was perfect to take away all my doubts of KATA. OSS!

    Sensei Fernando from Brazil!

  • Karate 4 ever! <3

Well... I 've got the 4th Kyu (the second violett) but my Trainer wants to show us everything he can as soon as he can for example NijuShiho. Nobody wants to be a victim of Karate :'D

  • Great video, thanks

  • Didier, your Karate is excellent! Very good bunkai application. Oss to France.

  • good bunkai. IMHO, there is nothing "written" about kata applications, the ones shown in this vid, are very "close to real" moves and not to be taken as the only ones. Interpretations can vary and that is the beauty of karate when it is seen as a way to get to personal defense. even so, there is no better way to win a fight than avoiding it... thanks for sharing

  • Best of the best OSS.

  • nice vid but times have changed and combat as changed in the street you anit got time for for flashy moves hit first hit hard then move on to hs mate ,and dont expect to come away with out some sort of scratch those that want to fight you are unsure of themselfs, fighting is allways the last result and does more harm and good be smart and walk away, if you can't then good luck

  • Sensei very nice bunkai all kata

  • Esta es, quizás, mi kata preferida. Conociendo los bunkais, gusta mucho más.

  • i agree with raptored01. The kata was very impressive, yet, the throws dont look as if they would work in reality. for example, on 8:03 the guy attacking him just lets his hand go. in real life it comes down to life or death and if somebody grabs you they arent letting go. also, the knee he throws should be straight on and not at an angle, thats a good way to get hit in the nuts and that not what you want in reality either. Good video though :)

  • i,m impressed, good form on the kata its self and i liked the bunkai

  • Merci pour ces videos et bunkai!..Super interessant . La patte d'un champion.

  • I like this kata and I love karate, but no one of this techniques would work in reality...at least not if done like this. he tried to do some techniques like ikkyo(6:53), gokkyo(8:59), (an horrible)sankyo(6:12), a kind of ude hishigi ude gatame(2:10) and some impossible throws...and the worst shio-nage i've ever seen 7:47...all this would perfectly work if done in the right way,but in most of the karate schools they don't teach you how to do these at all. By the way,I'm both karateka and jutsuka

  • @raptored01 you must practice all KATA accordingly, the real world is another matter.

Once the movements become natural to you,if you would ever had to use it,your body responds naturally to using certain techniques.

  • My only critisism of the bunkai shown is that too much of it relies to heavily on the attacker doing a set of specific attack combinations. In my opinion, a better approach would be to examine the kata from a controlling point of view of the defender rather than purely reactionary. Some of the applications shown in this video do that and I think those are the most valuable ones to consider.

  • @Ruestir there is no first attack in karate. Why become the aggresor? Its easily to manipulate someone who has commited to attack. Its the fundamental rule in martial arts, sir.

  • excellent video

  • VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

  • very good application!

  • waaaaaayyyy too advanced for me...

i cant even pull my gyaco-tsuki right -.-

  • I like this videos they had showed me very clear what is necessary for this katas. Thanks Sensei from a 3rd Kyu Brown Belt Karate Shotokan student

  • you are learning this kata at 3rd kyu??

  • Welcome to the modern world...

  • Nice, I made it to 1st kyu brown belt and quit just before i took my black belt test for shotokan. This was when I was in 7th grade. Had my Sensi's been smart enough to break down those katas and show the end result (Attack /Counter moves) I probably would have stayed with it. I got bored for a 7th grader who is puting all this time into training and not knowing whether I could truly defend myself against a bully. I took up wrestling instead. now I know just enough MA to get my ass kicked.

  • the best on bunkai that I have ever seen

  • Excellent quality demonstration.

  • Very good (muito bom)

    OSS

  • Osu,Fantastic and very practical

  • Excellent! I learned a lot from Mr. Lupo's understanding of the inner workings of nijushiho. Many people are satisfied with the basic block, punch, then elbow smash...but few explore the subtleties of obliterating an opponent with a combination of techniques, involving grapples and strikes. Even more challenging is doing this without butchering the actual moves of the kata. I enjoyed this very much.

  • Just learned it 2 days ago this kata, verry diffucult!!

  • Really good job.. i think watch all of this videos..

  • The sensei demonstrats this very well - this looks like a nice effective style of karate.

    What style is it?

  • This is Shotokan karate.

  • this is freaking BRILLIANT!!!

i have to perform niju shiho and the bunkai on 13.december and can totally use a bit of this for it! thank you so much.

  • Encore une fois une démonstration très enrichissante , pédagogique et gratuite. merci

  • Intéressant. Je regrette toutefois le terme réalité. Cela démontre bien que M. Lupo n'a pas compris à quoi sert la pratique de Bunkai.

  • Excellent i have learn many defense please more video. thank you from filipino here in Hong Kong.

  • Excellent, more video please. Thank you,
